You know its strange but I've never had any fear of any insect or many animals. My mama has total bug-phobia! LOL! She hates them all.

CL, glad to hear that you exposed yourself to the mantis babies. ( praying mantis' are eerie aren't they) I know that exposure to things that we're phobic of helps us deal with it. In my case its clowns! I even have a big post on the subject on my yahoo blog.

My poor husband has a very real fear of owls after his experience with a large one several years ago. He's not an easily frightened person but this experience did something to him.

I don't fear clowns, but have never liked them at all. I hated the circus when I was a child. As a mother, I went to a circus in Virginia with my son because he begged to go. I still hated the clowns.
I never figured out why I was afraid of the mantis as a child, because I played with little geckos and other things and was never bothered by it. I considered myself a wildlife lover, but had been taught not to go near stray cats and dogs
and to not try to play with the gators. wink

Snakes, spiders and other creatures have never concerned me, but I must say that Clowns are a little freaky !!

I think for me ,it goes back to the Stephen King/John Wayne Gacy portrayals of them !

I have neither read a Stephen King book, nor seen any of those movies. A bit to dark for me.

QOH, I agree, that is strange about the owls.

“….then again show me a mouse and i'll holler like youve never heard a woman hollering before, and also spiders , ive had this HUGE fear of spiders all my life.”

Then again show me(Ashiana) a bee and I’ll holler like you’ve never heard a woman hollering. Lol

QOH, I can take spiders cuz we had lots of ‘em in California: jumping spiders, crab spiders, daddy longlegs, and I saw a family of small tarantulas in my backyard.

I can take snakes because my brother had a snake pit and I used to take them out and put them around my neck.

I can take mice and rats because I raised a baby rat. His name was “Baby Boy” and I used to sit down and let him crawl up my leg. He used to like to curl up inside my shirt and go to sleep where it was nice and warm.

But don’t get me within 50 feet of a bee: wasp, bumble bee, yellow jacket, any kind of bee.

I remember once I was in a college lab and it was a hot day. Someone had opened all the windows and a bumble bee flew in. I ran out of that room so fast, and would not come back in until they had shooed it away.

One time when I was at my mom’s house there was a bee that came in through the window. They told me they had killed it, but I insisted also “Show me the body.” Lol

Well I called my father today after I got home from work...

He says he barely remembers the encounter with the owl and that he did remember sending me into the house. He said they reason was that when he was younger that he stumbled upon an owl when he was in the woods behind his house. The owl attacked him before flying off in self defence of my father being so close and taking the owl by suprise. He said he wasn't sure how the owl would react to two people so close by and sent me inside. He doesn't remember why he stayed in the backyard and doesn't remember what happened after I went inside. He doesn't remember if it was injured, flew off or that he chase it away. He admited that its definetly strange that neither of us remember much about the whole situation. I mean we are surely older now, but not that old! It does seem that it would be a memorable event, how often does one get to see an owl!? Especially one so big, I was probably about 4'2" at that age and I remember that thing almost looking me in the eye.(Of course like I said it was a small distance away from me and everything seems big when you are a kid!)

Guess I will have to put this one in the hmmm file!

This happend in early to mid 80s, about 30 miles south of minnesota border, near Clearlake-Ventura IA area, very early morning(if I remember right), and very hot but breezy day...

ash, bees? ohhh wow, i once went with some friends to a zoo, when we finished eating some burgers in the car, i walked and threw the trash away in a can that was near by. there were alot of bumble bees. I just threw the trash and got back in the car with out incident. what i hadnt realized is that since i was wearing a shorter tshirt, some had gotten under my tshirt. i leaned back on the seat, and screamed bloody murder, i guess i had squashed some of them and they werent too happy so i got stung like 4 times , i swear i almost took my top off , i didnt care WHO was around at the time, lol, i was weighing embarrassment, hmm or stings, well embarrassment won hehe, my pride would have recovered had i taken my blouse off and ran screaming like a crazy woman from the car. luckily my friend picked my blouse up and just so easily starting picking up the bees with her hand, which impressed me. so, i dont care for bees but the stings werent so bad that i fear them. never been bitten by a spider either, just cant stand all t hose legs, ewww. i wonder what causes our fears? ohhh ive never liked clowns either, dont fear them but i just dont care for them. oh yea the king clown, ohhh wow, now that one if i ever ran into him, yea id fear that one shocked

I know that my fear of clowns came from a incident when I was 4. My uncle was shriner and was going to perform in the shrine circus. He and my dad thought I'd get a kick out of seeing him in clown make-up. Well, needless to say it didn't go over too well. I didn't know whpo this thing was with my uncle's voice. I totally freaked out. From then on clowns were out for me.

Do you know that so many people have a fear of clowns that doctors finally ave aname to it in the 90's. It scalled coulrophobia. It s derived from the Greek which means to walk on stilts.

Jung was right when he spoke about collective consciousness. I believe that many of our fears of past lives memories. Here are some examples.

I've always been curious regarding who I am, where I come from and what was my place in the universe. During my life I've had past life memories and some of them involved existing in other worlds and other dimensions. I've always wanted to go home and I knew that this planet was not my home. Sometimes I have recalled some past lives events that happened in this life. Sometimes a TV show or a movie brings up bad memories For example;

I saw a movie in which an Arab was buried in the sand and honey was smeared on his face and birds pecked at his eyes and red ants ate him up alive. I was very disturbed when I saw this and I remembered that this happened to me in a past life also. I had to leave the movie. I saw a different movie in which a knight in armor in England was abusing people and raping women. This also upset me and I remembered that I had been somehow involved in either being a victim of a knight's rape, or I was a knight who was a rapist in a past life. To this day I am disturbed when I see a movie or a story about rape. These past life memories stay with us and they are embedded in our subconscious memory and sometimes they pop up.

I also remember that there was a laboratory type room and I saw what looked like a large console type TV and the screen was giving off a purple color light and I knew that if I looked at this light my entire mind would be drained from me. I knew that this was a past life memory from an outer space war in a different world.

Timetraveler, I am consciously made to bring bad events in my current life for previous years forward to look at and when I do, I feel all sorts of activity going on upstairs in my head. Those 'sticks' I've told you about before. The feelings I once had of a particular nasty subject would be gone and most of the memory would be gone too. More importantly, the picture I would see in my mind when I brought it forward is gone too.

I saw a similar movie by the way, but the man's head was above ground and they had removed his eyelids so that his eyes would be burned by the sun.

Then again, I believe that your reasoning for seeing such a movie (probably synchronicity) had a lot to say about the man being tortured. Here's my reasoning.

Both stories are horrible and they reveal a great degree of evil, hate and a tremendously heinous act. At the same time, these things teach us how to hate and despise such things. Consequently, we're good people for it since we despise such harm brought to another. Possibly, through synchronicity, you were made to watch that movie for just that reason - to despise heinous acts.

Try something, just for grins. Pull the picture forward in your mind of this knight abusing people or raping women. Sit silent and see what you feel around or in you. Possibly, another is trying to remove such things. To be upset is nothing we should ever have to be or made to be. As well, we can't remove those emotions when they occur but, the thought can be removed as can the picture. Test this on yourself. Why wear something on your spirit that you do not want to wear.

I really don't know what to think of past lives. That's just me being honest here. I have my own ideas of how the soul may be able to trans-migrate space and time. But that's just me. According to me, LOL, that would mean that during a period when the soul left the body, then the soul might visit different times and places. There might be some eras that the spirit might unify with and imprint upon. these memories would then be transferred to the body upon re-joining. I really don't now. But I know that what ever the deal is, I imprinted on the 1920's.

I guess you could call my theory a kind of reverse-engineering thing. Like I said, I don't really know. I do know that I'm a empath, so I pick up on all sorts of emotions.

Karen, it is very painful to be an empath. Most physical psychics are empaths. The famous psychic Peter Hurkos used to "relive" the horrible scenario of a crime scene and each crime scene to him was a traumatic experience. What I suggest is to try to mentally "pull" your "physical sensitivities" into a higher frequency and convert your physical "radar" into mental "radar". Ask your angels to help you do this.

I It is very exhausting and draining to be close to someone with problems and sadness. I channel all this in and sometimes am left totally exhausted. But as you said, i've learned to ask God to help me with this and it helps me in a lot of situations.

I started feeling this way as a child. I noticed that when i would hug or touch some folks, I could see a mental image in my head of things that were happening to the person, good or bad. I don't see it like a photogrpah as such but as colors and symbols.

i consider myself to be very open minded when it comes to alien abduction . abduction i find is the hardest topic of discussion. i find abduction like a giant jigsaw puzzle its finding all the right pieces that fit into that puzzle .
