Jack Kevorkian should be given a medal and allowed to do what he pleases.

I guess Terri Schivo will be dead today. I saw on the news they turned up the morphine drip. I agree Jack Kevorkian was doing a job other doctors would only do in secret. Again tonight we have a nice group of guests doing research. Log in folks, and tell us your storys. Ron

The only thing Jack Kevorkian did was shorten the days for the inevitable. Those people that requested his services had no quality of life and knew that they were dieing anyway very soon, not to mention in constant pyhsical pain and anguish. Why suffer the constant fear, pain and agony of death if doctor's such as Jack Kevorkian existed. In my eyes, he was an angel of mercy. In others, he was misunderstood because the others do not know the fear of death let alone the pain of some cancers. Or, unfortuanately they let religious beliefs stand in their way.

Religious beliefs or at least narrow moral views are the main problem. The way I see it, we end the suffering of animals so why deny the same compassion to humans? The only reason is either religious or a moral view that human life is somehow more precious than any other life and cannot be terminated for any reason.

Terri Schiavo should have been taken home for a taste of soup and seen her room and lovingly put to bed in a safe place to die. I wish people thought of how they would like to go and do that for the ones they love. Her parents could have taken her home. When my first dog Scoob was dieing I took him again to the vet and laying on the stainless steel table he had another convulsion (with whimpers that will always hurt to remember) I agreed it was time. But I carried my little buddy out to my van, where he felt like he was safe, the vet followed. I held him and loved him as the shot killed him, and I drove away crying and buried him under a tree.

That was a very sad but nice story. I remember my neighbor secretly speaking to my husband next door after we arrived home from work, telling him that the meter reader left our gate open and my dog was killed that afternoon by a car. They then brought the dog over to show me his little squished body and I let him stay in the house for a day and I couldn't bury him. Just a foot long hot dog but just the same, I wanted hi to come back to life.

The Terry Schiavo story is one more example of how terribly intrusive the media has become. The fact here is that her death should not have been a media circus witness by the world. I personally think that if they were actually going to follow her wishes, they shouldn't have waited 15 years to do so.
But this should never have been witnessed by the entire world, seeing the news hour by hour. It should have been treated with the same dignity and respect that we treat the animals we love with when we have to let them go. We do our best to make them feel safe and loved. And we let them leave in peace. Pretty hard to see any peace in this one.
The media fiasco has become ridiculous.

I agree with all of you. My beloved dog died at my feet in my livingroom. She was in the spot she loved most. I choke up even now and it's been a year and half. The media, the government and the public should hang their heads in shame for being involved in this matter. People have lied and distorted the situation to further their own cause and that is beyond shame.

I didn't know it was on TV last week. I miss a lot of the good shows, by not paying attention to the TV guide.
I will have to check more often,
