I have to admit that when I joined I was very defensive and closed minded even now I sometimes make the same mistake but I will apologise if I offend anyone without hesitation as no malice is ever intended , but a lot of people on here are not literacy as competent as others and the meaning of the post can be taken the wrong way as they try to explain its purposes ,all I am asking is that people take time to try and under stand what the author is writing even though they disagree with its meaning and agree to disagree without bad blood after all we are all equal and looking for the same answers

As an administrator of two other boards,( pertaining to Cowboy Action Shooting and Politics ) I can say personal attacks do nothing but further the problems of understanding each other. If you cannot debate with graciousness and truth you end up with exactly the problems we have with society today. Just my 2 Cents worth!!

There seems to be some who deliver attacks on others, here there and anywhere. Frankly I feel 'cause there's always another forum to go to.
Perhaps sooner or later there's going to be a black-list shared between all first-rate forums and that, should a black list happen, should most surely reduce a chunk of it.

Hello colemandragon -

Well when folks like Colin Powell, Madeline Albright, and vice president-elect Joe Biden come out and say that a huge crisis will emerge around Jan 21-22, 2009, we know something bad is going to go down... just remember; they are already talking about! This means it is a planned event. wink

People find them from different sites, or use one of their own creation such as a photo. To add it, go into your profile and scroll down to the section where you can add an avatar or a signature. It will give you the size restrictions and that might help. Most people have their images at an image hosting service such as photobucket or imagecave.

A Healthy Mind

A healthy mind always thinks it is right, but does not think it is always right.
This enables it to act with confidence, yet be willing to listen to other points of view and change if it finds it was previously wrong so it will be right again.

Unhealthy minds either think they are always right, or fear they are always wrong.
In the first case the mind becomes defensive of its position, unwilling to consider other positions, or allow others to hold other views. It leads itself into a false feeling of superiority and denigrates others as lesser intellects unable to grasp the truth.
In the second case the mind becomes timid and is always fearful of someone pointing out it's errors. It withdraws from interaction into the safety of solitude. When it does interact it becomes submissive, always looking for a stronger will to follow so that it has a shield against the arrows of reality.

Perfectly summarized. Thank you for that clean and clear breath of truth!

There is never any need to make disagreements or varying points of view personal. We all have a perspective, and when people use language that implies only one truth (their own) can be considered or respected, I immediately think to myself, "What control drama are THEY running?", because I know that if you really believe what you believe, you have no need (or desire!) to sway others to your point of view. There is no need to feel threatened by someone holding an opinion in opposition to one's own... live and let live, I say! Admitedly I've responded in kind to sarcasm directed at me, but even that defensive stance is totally unnecessary and beneath the goal most of we who come here share, exchange information, awarenesses and insights, learn and grow. So I've made a concerted effort not to go there anymore (on the defensive), and if it means not reading or responding to certain posts or posters, so be it. We all have the right to agree to disagree, and it need not come down to insults or personal attacks. Whenever you gather a group of people from different walks of life, upbringing, political persuasion and personal world view, you are going to have different and wide spread opinions and points of view expressed. I see no reason why that can't be done in a civil and mutually respectful manner smiley

Oh good idea! I had another thought, too... why not a tube of clear silicon?? It will stick to almost any surface quite well and for as long as you like it to, but when you are ready to take it off, there's no damage to the items it's adhering to! grin That would work, wouldn't it?

Love ya, Buddy!

No single piece of art you produce is every anything less than exquisite, my friend grin Think of the good "joo-joo" produced when an 18 yr old carries in his possession a symbol of the third eye to encourage him to expand and focus on that aspect of his nature...! Every forum contributor should only comment on content when referring to other posts. Including direct or indirect derogatory judgments about the author should not be allowed, indirect ones being those like "idiotic idea." Perhaps any comment about person pro or con should be restricted to a Message.
