Beautiful music indeed...my favorite Bach is the Brandenburg Concertos. No3 is my favorite but all 6 are great. No 3 has been used in many films, etc.

Nice to know someone who recognises fine music when they hear it, next to the track I mentioned I go for number four on the list...I think it`s four.
I picked up on classical music in the late 70s but began to get really turned on about 1980 ish, by 83 I started buying the music.
Classical music cleanses the mind, these composers are legends and their music is universal in sound style and it`s timeless, for those who might not have picked up on it you really are missing something very special.
I only listen to Classic FM in the car and nothing else, driving and classical music is the only way, PowerKnight wink

PK,

ONE OF MY MINORS IN COLLEGE WAS MUSIC THEORY AND COMPOSITION...THIS WAS SO IF I WAS IN AN AIRPLANE,CRUISING,OR HOTEL,ETC.,....I COULD COMPOSE/WRITE MUSIC THAT I HAD IN MY HEAD WITHOUT REQUIRING ME TO HAVE A GUITAR OR PIANO FOR REFERENCES.
NONETHELESS,THE...(MY)... PROFESSORS HAD THEIR BIAS AS TO WHAT ONE WOULD BE EXPOSED TO AND FURTHER WOULD ANALYZE...ONE PROFESSOR WHOM I CONSIDERED ECLECTIC AND HAD MY RESPECT TURNED ME ON TO A RUSSIAN COMPOSER..."SERGEI RACHMONINOFF"...I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANY WORK BY HIM.
MOST WESTERN PROFESSORS HAVE A EUROPEAN BIAS IN WHAT THEY THINK YOU SHOULD SOAK IN...MY THEORY TEACHER IF YOU CONSIDER THE PIPELINE THEORY OF INFLUENCE...LIKE WHOSE TEACHER TAUGHT YOU AND DOWN THE LINE ETC.,....HAVING SAID THAT...MY TEACHER'S TEACHER WAS AT UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA....AND HIS TEACHER'S TEACHER WAS WAGNER...CONSIDERING THAT PIPELINE INFLUENCE ...I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT WAS COOL...

THE OTHER COMPOSER THAT I THINK YOU WOULD APPRECIATE IS "CLAUDE DEBUSSY"...ONE SONG IN PARTICULAR I HAVE AN AFFINITY FOR IS "AFTERNOON OF A FAWN"...FOR YOU MUSICIANS...THIS COMPOSITION HAS A TIME SIGNATURE OF 9/8 WHEREIN MOST SONGS ON THE RADIO ARE TYPICALLY A 4/4 TIME SIGNATURE.

WELL TWO EXCELLENT COMPOSERS TO CONSIDER AND FREE MUSIC TRIVIA....FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH...

THE COMPOSERS I WISH HAD BEEN GIVEN MORE CONSIDERATION WITH MY PROFESSORS WERE THOSE LATIN AMERICAN COMPOSERS WITH THAT CORNUCOPIA OF LATINO RHYTHMS...
ES TABIEN...

EDIT TO ADD: TAKE THE ABOVE AND COMBINE JIMMY HENDRIX,BILLY GIBBONS,THE KING COMBO-(B.B.KING,FREDDIE KING,AND ALBERT KING,),ELMORE JAMES,ROBERT JOHNSON,BUDDY GUY,AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...THAT OTHER TEXAS PHENOM...STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN...
WITH A FEW NOT MENTIONED...THEN YA GOT AN IDEA WHERE I COME FROM AND SOME IDEA AS TO WHERE MY MUSIC WILL REPRESENT IN THE FUTURE.

SHALOM...ZETAR

Hi ZETAR, I agree there are so many brilliant classical composers and a few probably underrated with it, I tend to prefer the grandiose symphonies.
Wagner Ride Of The Valkyries is just one example, but over the years my musical tastes are on a very broad spectrum, my personal favourite is the HR/HM genre of music.
Rainbow 1975-1978 is my speciality, not to be confused with anything after this date, I got lucky I met the the great Ronnie James DIO twice, he was the original and only Rainbow singer from that time.
Many HR/HM guitarists and musicians are influenced by classical forms, Ritchie Blackmore was one of the first to incorporate neo-classical HR/HM guitaring way back in Deep Purple from 68, it hit a high watermark in Rainbow especially from that time I mentioned.
Having complete control his fusion was unique and no one did it better, hence the band spawned so many clones after him and the band.
I`ll have to checkout your music in one of the threads on the site, PowerKnight wink

Great song and version for sure.

The band Danse Society did a gothy-proggy-spacy version in the early 80's, that I really enjoy:

Nice choice drwu. Classic Stones album. I really like She's a Rainbow from it. Lately I've been listening to Bad Company. Here's a classic rock ballad. Silver, Blue ans Gold

Drwu I enjoyed the ready for love video. Classic song!

One of my favorite bands of all times and my favorite song by them. I even have an autographed guitar from Ricky Medlocke.

Somewhere along the line I missed out on these guys....but they remind me of Lynrd Skynrd as well as Allman bros but also like a great old English band called Wishbone Ash.
