Somewhere along the line I missed out on these guys....but they remind me of Lynrd Skynrd as well as Allman bros but also like a great old English band called Wishbone Ash.

Love Wishbone Ash, I saw them back in the 70's, they were the headliners, the meddle band was Camel (love Camel too!) and the OPENING band (making their first bigtime US Tour) was a kooky band of guys with fire on stage and painted faces.......KISS!

cool

I'm a big Beck fan but my favorite lp's by him are the 2 Rough and Ready period lp's and his first solo lp. I also like his early 2 with Stewart on vocals.
I've watched the 'Ronnie Scott' live video several times over the last year or so....great performance by all of them but I wish they had turned up Tal's bass since to me it sounded lost next to Becks guitar at times.

Jan and Dean great stuff, The Shangri-Las just love those 50s 60s girl groups, the innocence and novelty of it very romantic. The biker looks mean!!! In lovely monochrome black n white, I would have loved to have been around growing up in the 50s when the rock n roll scene exploded, my mum and dad caught it, boy did they jive! PowerKnight wink

Hi drwu23, I only found out this morning, yesterday my wife listen`s to Radio 2 in the car and they were playing Smoke On The Water they do play the odd HR/HM track but I didn`t realise.
I knew Jon had been diagnosed with cancer last year I think, but it`s still a great shock, I think most musicians and fans alike all had a soft spot for Lordy.
Including myself a very approachable gentleman figure and a nice guy, Jon Lord was a real legend he will be missed indeed. Child In Time with Lord`s hammond intro was his trademark signature tune, I`m wondering how Blackers might react?
Even though he cut ties with Purple etc, he always still had so much respect for Jon, it will be interesting to see what type of comment if any he will put out?
It`s so sad to see these legends slowly passing away the musicians we grew up with, RIP Jon Lord, PowerKnight cry

Ditto and salute to these guys We are so blessed to have hearing..I cannot imagine a world without music, much less hearing. And awsome to be introduced on this thread to things we not only remember, and a vast number never heard..
On this one that a good friend Double Naught turned me on to is a classic I liked it so much I made it part of my signature for the Arc. It was banned on radio when it was first introduced. Rumble
