I hear Bob Dylan in there...

It went something like this:

"You want to go gallavanting off to someplace in New York called Woodstock..?"
"Yes. Skip has a car, and we've got almost $200 dollars between us."
"You're only 15" (1969)
"Well, can I go...? Jimi Hendrix, and The Who are gonna be there...!"
"Not a chance."

And so it was. However, if I knew what a slice of history it was going to turn into..I would have went anyways. Would have been worth the punishment.

It's an old favorite. A cut off Blood on the Tracks I'm positive you know. Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts.

Must be nice to play the keys like that.
As to Tocatta's, I also like Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D minor.

I've always liked the Doors....got all their stuff including live lp's and the one they did without him but used his poetry.
Don't know if I would call him a 'genius' anymore than many other good lyricists but he wrote some cool lyrics. Manzarek and Krieger wrote the 99% of the music.
btw Morrison's 2 poetry books are interesting.

I would call him a genius drwu23 just on a pure musical aspect, his very presence, charisma, delivery, not forgetting his voice and that wildman/frontman image, but he really had talent another who was born to play the part. Many of these now icon figures Morrison had a talent with it some seem to forget this due to his personal life, this should be excluded, he really couldn`t have been anything else other than what he became, genius can also imply insight, this is now a forgotten aspect in today`s modern musical scene.
Could The Doors without Morrsion`s impact made it as big as they did? His improtu improvisations added to a unique figure, inherent within himself and projected where it mattered on stage and live. PowerKnight wink
