Of course I have ice it`s an excellent rock cover version not only is Ghost Riders In The Sky the finest country n western track ever written it`s one of the finest songs in all musical genre`s period!
There are so many who have covered this track down the years I like all of them, it`s exquisite and a little surreal if this doesen`t give you the goosebumps then I don`t know what will.
Also loved The Blues Brothers take on it also on the film, what a spooky setting just brilliant, yeh that`s right Little Richard permed with lipstick was this guy ahead of his time or what! PowerKnight wink

When you said you had only their first album I wondered PK, that's all. The reason they're an underplayed band is they insist on writing ten minute tunes. Radio stations hate this, and resist as much as possible. But you can't keep good musicians down, can you? This might be about the best cover of this song ever done. In my opinion anyway. The Outlaws are one of the best Country Rock/Southern Rock bands ever. A lot of talent resides there, does it not?

I had noticed the duration of tracks are not the three four minute standard, I prefer longer tracks but as you said radio stations tend to shy away from them.
In the past singles have been released from bands and edited I could list many but for example Blue Oyster Cult/Don`t Fear The Reaper granted not as long as some Outlaws tracks but here the middle instrumental segment was cut out for radio/single release.
Lynyrd Skynyrd remain my favourite Southern rock/country band, PowerKnight wink

Wow back in the caveman days when telly was black an white and computers where science fiction lol, yip ELP did record some fantastic tracks yet NOW their music lays in some archive never to be played apart from Greg Lakes Christmas song. I have their albums but nothing to play them on so now they just gather dust along with all my other vinylís such as dark side of the moon or Hawkwinds albums, Alex Harvey etc. nothing more than remnants of my past, memories lost in time.

ELP rank along the all time prog rockers with the usual list, The Endless Enigma from Trilogy is brilliant oddly enough I haven`t played this album in a long time.
Hey nothing wrong with Greg Lake`s Christmas track hyundisonata, turntables can be bought almost anywhere on line these days you will be surprised, vinyl never really went out it`s still here and will be around forever including the humble turntable to play them on.
late 60s, 70s prog rock...the template of all progressive rock music, PowerKnight wink

Still You Turn Me On/Lake is a beautiful song the lyrics are very evocative, what`s interesting about ELP was the fact Lake would compose his own acoustic ballads and this gave the band a different edge to them.
Emerson/Palmer would often battle it out in the speed stakes and Lake would give a counter balance in his own style, actually Lake has a great voice very distinctive a prog rock legend, PowerKnight wink

I really like the work he did on the first 2 Crimson lp's....
sadly he left and after a few decent lp's with ELp he never really wrote many good tunes after that.
