Guess I might as well chime in...

I listen to alot of metal and such, my favorite bands being Seether and Three Days Grace, but I pretty recently found a few good tracks from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I love it :3

I also listen to rap, and like Immortal Technique and Eminem.

Hey, wu, what made you post that?

BTW, I did an interesting little traipse through conspiracy land because of that article.

Kurt Cobain - Pigpen McKernan connection? Courtney Love, that she was on a Grateful Dead album at the age of 5. Wow. I didn't know she had that connection to the Dead. And then the article mentioned that her own band Hole suffered the loss of their bassist Kristen Pfaff. I'm like, who?

Then after a search, some spooky do came up.

Kurt Cobain, died from self-inflicted shotgun injury, plus "A high concentration of heroin and traces of diazepam were also found in his body." He died in early April of 94.

Kristen Pfaff, by some reports, was close to Kurt. She was distraught with his death, and had quit her band Hole. She was a (former?) heroin user as well, and on the day she was set to move back to Minneapolis, with a U-haul truck packed with her stuff, she was found dead of a heroin overdose. She died in early June of 94. Kristen had entered rehab in 93 and got clean, before heading back to Seattle. The dose that killed her was supposedly highly concentrated as well. Most know that overdose deaths tend to happen to users who had previously cleaned up, and then come back to a dose that they no longer have the tolerance for.

Sad in both cases. Decide at your leisure if there's something more to this (such as some reporting that Courtney Love suspected that Kurt was cheating on her and/or leaving her, and that there was friction between Courtney and Kirsten, even an accusation of wanting Kurt).

Heh Reasoner.....I read Fortean Times on a fairly regular basis and thought the article was interesting and would fit on the music threads.
As far as Cobain you are correct in that several people have said that Hole might have murdered him by getting him high, wouldn't take much to twist his arm, and then placing the gun in his hands and making sure he shot himself. There are some unusual things about the case.

My favorite track by Curt........

This one's pretty funny. Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo is performing "Rain in Blood" with a mexican band.

The band Metalachi covers a lot of hard rock and metal songs. They've quite a repertoir. BTW is CA still around? Post a "hello" buddy. wink

What's your all time favorite Genesis lp/cd?

This is one of my favorite tracks: from Selling England By The Pound...

"The path is clear
Though no eyes can see
The course laid down long before.
And so with gods and men
The sheep remain inside their pen,
Though many times theyve seen the way to leave.

DrWu,

It's the one I refered to. And then there were three.

Hard to choose a favourite track.
But 'Undertow' has to be up there with them.

Wind from the north east chills the air,
it will soon be snowing out there.
And some there are
cold, they prepare for a sleepless night.
Maybe this will be their last fight.

I envision some poor old derelict sheltering under a bridge somewhere. Waiting for the morning sun.

Not a nice thought.

Heck,as old as I be,it's difficult for me to choose from many artists.
I have so many ,my daily mood chooses that which I listen to.
Ahh,choices ,many,we all choose the path for the day, yes?
Super to see so many here relish the music which I grew up on and delved into as the drug craze raged in the 60s.And into the mid 70s....No drugs, except for the libation I enjoy, and the prescribed..
PEACE!!

I always liked the Doors, I have Morrison's 2 books of poetry, but sometimes they were a bit twee and not always on their game at times.

IMHO this is the best San Franciso band from those days and perhaps the best lp that ever came out of the west coast...these guys were hard rockin, drug takin, revolutionaries....
