I'll probably take some heat for posting a Bobby Vee song. However, it's not because of Bobby Vee I love this video. Man, I sure miss the sixties......

Bobby Vee classic 60s music from a classic artist, I`m always fascinated from archive footage from the 50s and 60s.
A golden moment in time in entertainment and especially music, when there was an abundance of classic pop bands and artists and the public were literally spoilt for choice.
What a social climate to live in back then, okay there were problems but I think people were happier unlike today where everything has become compressed false and fake.
Whatever happened to the classic pop songs and classic pop bands, but we get rap...I mean Crap...there is a silent C in there, the 60s is my all time decade and yes I lived through it be it born in 62 but even as a child growing up in the 60s was very special not forgetting the early 70s, bliss! Couldn't agree more, PK. There were some bad things going on in the world, (like now), but I wouldn't want to grow up in any other era. Nearly all music from the sixties is fine with me, and I much prefer it over any other. IMO, 98% of today's stuff sucks. You said it....silent "C".

Yeah ok...I like Bobby Vee, Tommy Roe, bubblegum bands, sike-pop, 60's Motown-soul, cars and surf, & many more. Great and timeless, IMO.

Of course there were silly artists and bands along with the rest of the crop and yes some of it was corny and very cheesy but it was a different social climate back then.
There is talent around today but a little more scarce and sometimes you have to find it yourself it`s not always picked up from the mainstream music media etc.
I suppose you tend to have a nostalgic feel from the era you came from and likewise for today`s younger generation.
Back then music ruled supreme along with the vinyl, the post war created an optimism and escapism with the rock n roll era that hadn`t been seen before, the fashion style rock n roll diners et al.
Above all it was very entertaining the musos had fun and smiled on stage, today it`s a case of even pop music well what`s left of it tend to take themselves too seriously it`s often very reality based far too fragmented and not a collective in genre.
Here in the UK punk was the last musical movement and genre that had an impact even though it was short lived, but I never picked up on punk I prefer what came after the ashes of punk smouldered. PowerKnight wink

Bob Dylan

[Man Gave Names to all the Animals]

Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning in the beginning
Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning long time ago.

He saw an animal that liked to growl
Big furry paws and he liked to howl
Great big furry back and furry hair
"Ah think I'll call it a bear".

Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning in the beginning
Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning long time ago.

He saw an animal up on a hill
Chewing up so much grass until she was filled
He saw milk coming out but he didn't know how
"Ah think I'll call it a cow".

Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning in the beginning
Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning long time ago.

He saw an animal that liked to snort
Horns on his head and they weren't too short
It looked like there wasn't nothing that he couldn't pull
"Ah I'll think I'll call it a bull".

Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning in the beginning
Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning long time ago.

He saw an animal leaving a muddy trail
Real dirty face and a curly trail
He wasn't too small and he wasn't too big
"Ah think I'll call it a pig".

Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning in the beginning
Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning long time ago.

Next animal that he did meet
Had wool on his back and hooves on his feet
Eating grass on a mountainside so steep
"Ah think I'll call it a sheep".

Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning in the beginning
Man gave names to all the animals
In the beginning long time ago.

He saw an animal as smooth as glass
Slithering his way through the grass
Saw him disappear by a tree near a lake....
