The best cover of this tune in my opinion.

Nice choice, alvaro. Interestingly, Schuldinger wasn't into the trappings of the occult with his band like most other death metal bands. Just good clean death (heh). It saddens me when the brightest spirits are moved beyond the veil of our world before the rest of us had a chance to take the fullest measure of them.

Oddly, I was thinking this very thing driving into work... heard Crazy Train on the radio and thought of Ozzy's sense of loss when Rhodes died in that accident, what could have been for the both of them.

One only hopes that we meet old friends after moving on, or get to listen to awesome spectral concerts by some of history's greatest musicians!

Absolutely Reasoner!

Even tho they are not among us anymore, their legacy will be kept alive forever. Itīs amasing to see so many young people following their music, even tho they werenīt born at that era.

I remember the first time I heard a Death song. I was 9 to 10 years old, watched MTV a lot. Then I saw a Video clip. It was The Philosopher! I watched it and Chuck playing his guitar.

It touched me right away. Back then, people were always telling me that I should cut my hair, stay away from this kind of thing, that it was wrong, and not christian( I was educated at a religious school at that time). Iīve never wanted to be a religious person anyway, and everything they said that was wrong, it was in fact, very right to me. I said to my friends that I wanted to be just like that guy!

Although Death wasnīt the first heavy metal band I listened(Sepultura was the first), Chuck was my first Idol, and first musical influence!

Nowadays, Im not a Chuck Schuldiner, and my band ainīt famous, but Im glad I became the long haired dude with his guitar too! cheesy (Well, Im playing the bass more, but I guess itīs still valid! haha cheesy)

Nothing wrong with bass guitar, and Sepultura is magnificent!

You ever hear their cover of Black Sabbath's Symptom of the Universe? Mind = Blown.

Nowadays Im much more into Cavalera Conspiracy than Sepultura, but still a great band!
