Drwu,

Indeed. Their song 'Timothy Leary's dead' is very much in the realm of open doors.

But I particularly like.

I've miles and miles of files ,pretty files, of your forefathers fruit,
And now to suit our great computer
your magnetic ink.

I was (am ) a great Moody Blues fan. Right from the 'Go Now' days.

And on a different subject.

Talk of the Devil etc wink

Like my profile says here at CASEBOOK, I was born in Cook Co. IL
Now I reside in SE FL, for 30 years now.
Some of the songs are different, then what most are used to.
ENJOY, them if you can.

Thanks for that ..interesting song called Dr UM. (reminds me of Krautrock like Faust, Can , or Amon Duul.)
I still don't really understand the point of that thread you have been doing and I do think 'you have the skills to explain'.

TIME
to listen to
DR UM
I think you maybe right, I listened to the old stuff from the bands you mentioned, and
DR UM
could be labeled modern beatnik, I've been experimenting with different sounds lately so when time is
PROPER I will post them, in the mean time,
PLEASE ENJOY this.

GForce,

Always loved this song.

It's on my Cream 'Wheels of Fire' LP.

Other good tracks from the same album are

'Deserted Cities of the Heart' and ' World of Pain'.

Felix Pappallardi on the cello is a great new sound on many of these tracks.

For 'back to your roots' stuff there is also 'Crossroads'
Where Clapton gets chance to do his stuff.

Hal, I was checking out The Yardbirds on you-tube which led me to Cream. I'm a big fan of 60-70's music so that's usually what I look for. I often wonder what would have happened had the Yardbirds stayed together. I mean Page, Beck & Clapton all played with them? 3 of the greatest guitarists ever. Pretty amazing that the 3 guys all played with the band.

Yardbirds and Cream...two of the best ever.....we all know where Page ,Beck ,and Clapton went later.
But here's some rock trivia for you guys..I have these in my record collection. Two Yardbird spin offs.

the original Renaissance with Relf.....

and Armageddon with Relf...heavy rock blues
