Ozzy Osbourne
Year: 1981
Album: Diary of A Madman

[Believer]

Watching the time go
And feeling belief grow
Rise above the obstacles
People beseech me
But they'll never teach me
Things that I already know (I know)

Dreams that have shattered
May not have mattered
Take another point of view
Doubts will arise, though
Like chasing a rainbow
I can tell a thing or two (That's true)

You've got to believe in yourself
Or no one will believe in you
Imagination like a bird on the wing
Flying free for you to use (OK baby)

I can't believe they stop and stare
And point their fingers, doubting me
Their disbelief suppresses them
But they're not blind
It's just that they won't see

I'm a believer
I ain't no deceiver
Mountains move before my eyes
Destiny planned out
I don't need no handout
Speculation of the wise

Ozzy
Year: 1989
Album: No Rest For The Wicked

[Hero]

I don't want to be a hero
I don't want to ever let you down
No, I don't want to let you down

I could try to take you higher
But I don't want to wear a broken crown
You know it brings me down

Don't think you'll ever understand me
I don't even understand me
Don't have the power to anoint you
And I don't want to disappoint
The fools no more
The fools no more

I couldn't answer all your questions
And if you're lost I couldn't find your way
I couldn't find your way

You know you have to face the music
You changed your tune and don't know what to play
So don't you run away

Everybody's talking crazy
Some think I am a devil maybe
I don't want to hear about it
Don't want to have to scream and shout
At fools no more
The fools no more

So, I don't want to be a hero
Don't want to sit upon your crippled throne
I've got a life of my own

I am not your destination
Or a road that's gonna lead you home
So, baby please don't go

Please don't go
Please don't go
Please don't go

Well…my sweetie brought me kickin and screaming into the modern era with a Christmas gift of an ipod shuffle. I’ve avoided those things for years preferring the perceived cleaner, crisper sound of vinyl. Curmudgeon to the bitter end, it sat in the computer nook at home untouched, unopened until a couple of days ago. Then Dina loaded a few tunes onto it and stuck it in my coat pocket.

Finding myself with a bit of free time during lunch a few days ago, I figured what the hell. Stuck those earphones in and cranked it up. Hmmm…truthfully…either my hearing is getting bad..or…or…hell, this thing sounds everybit as good as any album I’ve ever had. No scratches, no turntable and its music to my ears only as I work happily away the rest of that afternoon. Only thing wrong is the music selection…I’ll need to fix that.

$0.99 / song at itunes…a hundred bucks later and a minor scolding from the wife…I’ve taken a serious stroll down memory lane..downloading Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lone Justice, Metallica, Gene Clark, Blackfoot, Bob Dylan, Matchbox 20, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Houston Marchman, Dwight Yoakum, Natalie Merchant, CCR, Doobie Brothers, Santana…to name a few.

Ok…these things are pretty cool.

Santa put a CD called S.O.L.F.A. Sound, sound of life frequency attunement, in my Christmas stocking this year. I'm fascinated by the solfeggio tonal scale, and I listen to this CD frequently. It has the effect of uplifting and soothing all at the same time smiley

Band: Jethro Tull
Year: 1999
Album: J-Tull Dot Com

[Dot Com]

It's a wide world out there
So much wider than imagined
I can't quite put my finger on the pulse
Of your heart softly beating
Just beneath the raw silk sheen
That reflects the tints of Autumn from the hills.

So punch my name.
And in case you wonder -
I'll be yours - yours, dot com.

Executive accommodation
Bland but nonetheless appealing
Waiters discretely at your beck and call
Place the tall sun-down potion
Lightly by your velvet elbow
While you compose a message on the wall

So punch my name.
And in case you wonder -
I'll be yours - yours, dot com.

With your handmade leather valise
Packed and ready, ready waiting
Showered and dressed down lightly for the heat
Give a clue; leave a kind word
Hint as to a destination
A domain where our cyber-souls might meet.

So punch my name.
And in case you wonder -
I'll be yours, I'll be yours dot com.

Band: Jethro Tull
Year: 1970
Album: Benefit

[Play in Time]

Got to take in what I can.
There is no time to do what must be done,
While I do some thinking.
Sleeping is hard to come by,
So we'll all sit down and try to play in time,
and we feel like singing.

Talking to people in my way.

Blues were my favorite colour,
til I looked around and found another song
that I felt like singing.
Trying so hard to reach you;
playing what must be played, what must be sung --
and it's what I'm singing.

Talking to people in my way.

Band: Jethro Tull
Year: 1970
Album: Benefit

[Inside]

All the places I've been make it hard to begin
to enjoy life again on the inside,
but I mean to.
Take a walk around the block
and be glad that I've got me some time
to be in from the outside,
and inside with you.

I'm sitting on the corner feeling glad.
Got no money coming in but I can't be sad.
That was the best cup of coffee I ever had.
And I won't worry about a thing
because we've got it made,
here on the inside, outside so far away.

And we'll laugh and we'll sing
get someone to bring our friends here
for tea in the evening --
Old Jeffrey makes three.
Take a walk in the park,
does the wind in the dark
sound like music to you?
Well I'm thinking it does to me.

Can you cook, can you sew --
well, I don't want to know.
That is not what you need on the inside,
to make the time go.

Counting lambs, counting sheep
we will fall into sleep
and we awake to a new day of living
and loving you so.

Currently, I'm listening on the Solfeggio frequencies tracks on youtube:
741 HZ - Consciousness Expansion
852 HZ - Awakening Intuition
396 HZ - Liberation from Fear
417 HZ - Transmutation
528 HZ - Miracle
639 HZ - Integrating Structures
Solfeggio Arpeggio 396 417 528 639 741 852 963

Perhaps I'll buy a CD with the music, although I haven't felt any change in myself, yet...

Wow, Carol and Polarmike thanks for listing those links. I like to hear things before deciding to make a purchase. It sounds like it is great.

my love will turn you on
in the middle of a shave

The song below is one of my top ten favorite heavy metal tunes. Not many songs begin with a lead guitar blasting away with an incredibly powerful piece, but the song below does just that! cool

Band: Metallica
Year: 1983
Album: Kill 'Em All

[No Remorse]

No mercy for what we are doing
No thought to even what we have done
We don't need to feel the sorrow
No remorse for the helpless one

War without end

No remorse No repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day Another death
Another sorrow Another breath

Blood feeds the war machine
as it eats its way across the land
We don't need the feel the sorrow
No remorse is the one command

War without end

No remorse No repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day Another death
Another sorrow Another breath

Only the strong survive
No will to save the weaker race
We are ready to kill all comers
Like a loaded gun right at your face

War without end

No remorse No repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day Another death
Another sorrow Another breath

Attack!!

Bullets are flying
People are dying
with madness surrounding all hell's breaking loose

Soldiers are hounding
Bodies are mounting
cannons are shouting to take their abuse

With war machines going
Blood starts to flowing
No mercy given to anyone here

The furious fighting
Swords are like lighting
It all becomes frightening
You know death is near

No remorse
