Oh Doc,

That was a high school anthem: Spoiled by excessive overplaying. I simply cannot listen to it anymore! tongue

Instead, I am listening to this classic Ed Sullivan TV broadcast from The Animals:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TfxSrlj7dc&feature=PlayList&p=DEF4770270BC9426&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=45

One of my favorites from the '60s. The song that plays directly after is also great, even if the video is a really spiritless lip-sync.....

Here is another of my favorite Animals songs from a vintage TV show. The cheesy video is a scream. Notice Eric falling behind on the lyrics and missing a que..... whoops! But that is live TV:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNzmrEgz_GI&feature=related

Also check out this great vintage live performance by Eric Burdon of the great Sam & Dave classic, "Hold On, I'm Coming". Introduced, I believe, by none other than the great Otis Redding. Looks like he is having fun!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQknxjce3_Q&feature=related

Cool! cool

Album: Physical Graffiti

[In The Light]

And if you feel that you can't go on.
And your will's sinkin' low
Just believe and you can't go wrong.
In the light you will find the road.
You will find the road

Oh, did you ever believe that I could leave you,
standing out in the cold
I know how it feels 'cause I have slipped through
to the very depths of my soul.
Baby, I just want to show you what a clear view it is from every bend in the road.
Now listen to me
Oh, whoa-whoa,
as I was and really would be for you, too, honey
As you would for me, oh, I would share your load.
Let me share your load. Ooh, let me share, share your load

And if you feel that you can't go on
In the light you will find the road

Though the winds of change may blow around you,
but that will always be so
When love is pain it can devour you,
if you are never alone
I would share your load. I would share your load
Baby, let me, oh, let me

In the light
Everybody needs the light.
In the light, in the light, in the light

Light, light, light, in the light
Light, light, light, in the light, ooh, yeah
Light, light, light, in the light

I'm (still) enjoying Peter Cetera's

Glory of Love

Tonight it's very clear
As we're both lying here
There's so many things I want to say
I will always love you
I would never leave you alone

Sometimes I just forget
Say things I might regret
It breaks my heart to see you crying
I don't wanna lose you
I could never make it alone

I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you're dreaming of
We'll live forever
Knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love

You'll keep me standing tall
You'll help me through it all
I'm always strong when you're beside me
I have always needed you
I could never make it alone

I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you've been dreaming of
We'll live forever
Knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love

Just like a knight in shining armor
From a long time ago
Just in time I will save the day
Take you to my castle far away

I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you're dreaming of
We're gonna live forever
Knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love

We'll live forever
Knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love

We did it all for love
We did it all for love
We did it all for love
We did it all for love

I've been thinking about school bullies a lot lately, even if i'm homeschooled, and this song is exactly about school bullies and crap calling him names because of the music he listened to and the way he dressed. sad

After The Love Has Gone,
performed by Earth Wind and Fire.

For awhile to love was all we could do
we were young and we knew
and our eyes were alive
Deep inside we knew our love was true
For awhile we paid no mind to the past
we knew love would last
Ev'ry night somethin' right
would invite us to begin the dance

Somethin' happened along the way
what used to be happy was sad
Somethin' happened along the way
and yesterday was all we had
And oh after the love has gone
how could you lead me on
and not let me stay around
Oh oh oh afterthe love has gone
what used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found

For awhile to love each other with all
we would ever need
Love was strong for so long
never knew that what was
wrong oh baby wasn't right
We tried to find what we had
till sadness was all we shared
We were scared this affair would lead our love into
Somethin' happened along the way
yesterday was all we had
Somethin' happened along the way
what used to be happy is sad

Somethin' happened along the way
oh yesterday was all we had
And oh after the love has gone
how could you lead me on
and not let me stay around
Oh oh oh after the love has gone
what used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found

Oh oh oh oh oh oh after the love has gone
what used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found
Oh woh woh after the love has gone
what used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found

Oh woh woh after the love has gone
what used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found
Oh woh woh
Oh woh woh after the love has gone
what used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found

Woh woh woh after the love has gone
what used to be right is wrong
Can love that's lost be found
Woh woh woh

ahhh some 80's metal... I like! grin

Exodus was pretty good, I liked their music more than the lead singer's style. Sacred Reich was a good metal band... surfin' Nicaragua! cool

Baloff wasn't a very good singer, but he made up for it in being an over-the-top metal frontman. Sometimes it's how you present yourself (sort of like Venom). I saw Exodus a year ago with their new singer. One of the best shows I've ever been to. Front row too. I was just inches away from Gary Holt the whole time.

My favorite Sacred Reich songs are The Power of the Written Word and American Way. The former is a ridiculously brutal song and American Way has some very in-your-face lyrics.

Danzig- "Left Hand Black"

Band: Bad Company
Year: 1974
Album: Bad Company

[Rock Steady]

Well, when I want to rock steady,
I know, I got to get ready
Close my eyes and I let myself go.
Listen to, oh, baby, let the music flow,
Turn on your light and stay with me a while
And ease your worried mind,
Turn on your light, now babe

And stay with me a while and rock steady.
Yeah, oh, now rock steady,
Yeah, rock, rock steady.
When my love gets a little bit too heavy,
She's mine an' I got to get ready.
Close my eyes and let myself go,
I listen too, yeah, and I let the
music flow.
Yeah, it's flowing now.

Turn on your light and stay with me a while
And ease your worried mind,
Turn on your light
And stay with me a while and rock steady.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Turn on your light and stay with me a while,
And ease your worried mind; turn on your light,
Stay with me a while
And rock, rock, rock, rock, rock, rock,
Babe, turn on your light
And ease your worried mind,
Yeah, turn on your little light,
Oh, and rock steady.

Band: Lynard Skynard

[Travelin' Man]

I was born a travelin' man, that's all I'll ever be
Moving around from town to town is what makes me so free
My father was a trucker for the years of '23
On the day that I was born his truck was left to me
I'm a travelin' man
Travelin' Man -- that's what I am
Travelin' Man
Travelin' Man
That's what I am

Travelin' man -- that's what I am
No woman puts a hold on me
You'll see me once or maybe twice
That's all you'll see of me
All you pretty women Lord, I hope you understand
Don't be a fool Lord no, and put your heart in a travellin' man
I'm a travelin' man
Travelin' Man
Travelin' Man -- that's what I am
Travelin' Man

Travelin' Man -- that's what I am
Guess I'll always be
Travelin' Man -- that's what I am
But at least I'm free

Travelin' man
Oh - that's what I am

Travelin' man -- that's what I am, Lord I move so fast
I have had so many women, none of them have last
I am just a mover, moving fast as sound
Always free, sometimes lonely. Always movin' around
Travelin' Man
Travelin' Man -- that's what I am
Travelin' Man
Oh - that's what I am

John Fogerty
Year: 1985
Album: Centerfield

[Rock And Roll Girls]

Sometimes I think life is just a rodeo,
The trick is to ride and make it to the bell.
But there is a place, sweet as you will ever know,
In music and love, and things you never tell.
You see it in their face, secrets on the telephone,
A time out of time, for you and no one else.

[Chorus:]
Hey let's go all over the world,
Rock and Roll Girls, Rock and Roll Girls.

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

If I had my way, I'd shuffle off to Buffalo;
Sit by the lake, and watch the world go by.
Lazy in the sun, listenin' to the radio,
Like flowers on the sand, a rainbow in my mind.

[Chorus x3]

Yeah, yeah yeah!
