Hi Folks -

GForce; Humble Pie was a good rock n' roll band.

I really liked that version of the JT song. There is another live video on youtube where it is in the 1970's and it is a flute solo that is just nuts! I'll post it if i see it again. smiley

Benefit is my favorite album of Tull... I really liked the 1999 J-Tull dot com album too though.

[Inside]

BTW- I do not live in the past... I live in the NOW! grin

Gforce,

...Well when it comes to music I tend to live in the past. I'm not Ga-Ga over Lady Ga-Ga or many others...

Guess you missed it. 'Living In The Past' was one of Jethro Tull's biggest hits. grin

Icepick,

Wasn't 'I can't stand the rain' A Carol King song ? Written and sung by her ? Re released by Tina Turner a few year back.

Carole King? I really wouldn't know. My tastes in music has always stayed outside of the commercial realm pretty much. Only a few selected artists who tend to wind up there anyway are included on my list.

No, it isn't a prejudice. It's just worked out that way for some reason or other. Maybe it comes from growing up in the mountains of Virginia. Where every Saturday Night after dinner always turned into a footstomp with all the people who were present who could play joining in.

Of course I was at least twelve before I discovered what was in that jug that all those thirsty adults kept horning off of. grin

But yeah, that was probably it. Saturday Night was always for music, and Grandpa always led with his homemade fiddle. On Sunday some of the folks went to church if they could function. Then it was hair of the dog time, and usually a big pile of fried chicken. The next day was "up yours" and back to work. Or school in my case. Man but those headaches were murder when you got older.

Sorry about that off topic spiel there Hal. I just thought I would explain how my musical tastes were born. Mainly because it would be so unusual for most people. You see, it was pretty (VERY) isolated up in those hills. TV didn't really make it in there until the early 1960s. So the weekends were party time, where ever the clan could gather. Ours was huge. We split up into maybe twenty different groups (380 people through 3rd cousin). But after some of us discovered rock and roll, it screwed things up. The older folks couldn't handle our Marshal Amps and Gibson SGs. Or whatever you played. I was a B3 Hammond. That really didn't fit Bluegrass. Yeah, we were those dope smokin' black sheep. Oh well ............

Greetings, everyone.

I've actually been listening to myself, lately.

There is a free mp3, from a new project, at the website posted in my profile.

(About 10 minutes of space drone/puja music with a few traditional instruments intertwined.... if you like that sort of thing.)

I'll come back later and find a spot to post my story.

[Metallica Cover Version]

Breadfan
Open up your mind
Open up your purse
Never, never, never gonna lose it

Breadfan
Take it all away
Never give an inch
Gotta make a mint
Gotta make a million

Breadfan
You got it wrong
Some long time friend's gonna lose it
In the end who's a fool

Seagull
Give it all away
Stay a bird
Stay a man
Stay a ghost
Stay what you wanna be

Loser
Give it all away
Never stay with the winner
With the man
With the money

Sailor
Roughin' up the town
With the gal
With a record on the top
If you're gonna be a bad boy

Breadfan
Finger in the pie
In the sky
Put a guineau on the nose
Of a gee gee

Come on
Keep it on the side
With a ride
On a throne
In the middle of an island

Loser, give it all away
Cos' I'm never gonna stay
Cos I don't need it.

Don't you feel it in your veins?

All the money in this world
And I don't need it

Breadfan
Open up your mind
Open up your purse
Never, never, never gonna lose it

Breadfan
Take it all away
Never give an inch
Gotta make a mint
Gotta make a million

Breadfan
You got it wrong
Some long time friend's gonna lose it
In the end who's a fool

Seagull
Give it all away
Stay a bird
Stay a man
Stay a ghost
Stay what you wanna be

Loser
Give it all away
Never stay with the winner
With the man
With the money

Sailor
Roughin' up the town
With the gal
On a record on the top of your van

Breadfan
Finger in the pie
In the sky
Put a guinea on the nose
Of a gee gee

Come on
Keep it on the side
With a ride
On a throne in the road
In the middle of an island

I've been stuck on 'Smooth Jazz' for the last several months. Right now it's David Culbetson, Chris Botti, and especially Diana Krall!

She's very easy on the eyes also!!! kiss

But not by me.

I actually prefer live cuts 99% of the time. There was only a few bands that couldn't seem to pull their stuff off live. Most of them actually add more live. Some especially were that way. Like Free, the Stones, Savoy Brown, Uriah Heep ..... just to name a few. Others you simply should only listen to live because that was what they were all about. Like Ten Years After, Deep Purple, Foghat .....

On the other hand, I was a concert junkie, so maybe I'm prejudiced. grin

Well, the clock says it's time to close now
I guess I'd better go now
I'd really like to stay here all night
The cars crawl past all stuffed with eyes
Street lights share their hollow glow
Your brain seems bruised with numb surprise
Still one place to go
Still one place to go

Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen
Warm my mind near your gentle stove
Turn me out and I'll wander baby
Stumblin' in the neon groves

Well, your fingers weave quick minarets
Speak in secret alphabets
I light another cigarette
Learn to forget, learn to forget
Learn to forget, learn to forget

Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen
Warm my mind near your gentle stove
Turn me out and I'll wander baby
Stumblin' in the neon groves

Well the clock says it's time to close now
I know I have to go now
I really want to stay here
All night, all night, all night
