Back in 77 with two complete different artists and a generation apart the promo and track worked with opposites attract effect on the xmas Little Drummer Boy classic. A brilliant duet that somehow should not have worked if you know what I mean, but worked it did, amazing, PowerKnight wink

Bowie was always an exceptional talent, but he never seemed to work very hard at it. I actually liked a lot of the Glass Spider stuff too. He remains one of the few rock stars who displayed a real talent for acting. Considering the many lousy actors from music, it's surprising he never pursued it. Look at Elvis. One of the few deep toned singers who was truly gifted at singing. But one of the worst actors ever.

Of course it could be worse. Jim Dandy might have discovered acting. grin

Wu, you're correct about Hendrix playing many different rigs. After all, he burned about one per concert.

I'm remembering the one he was initially famous for. That short Fender strung upside down was a Telly. But it's a little strange isn't it? Fender makes left handed versions, and he definitely had the money to buy one. I wonder why he never purchased one?

Maybe he became so used to playing it upsdie down he simply couldn't be bothered to look for a left handed one.
Most of his songs and gigs were Strats from what I recall on album covers and pics and live video...but he did occasionally play something else in the early days.

Oh yes without a doubt, Bowie was a natural musician/songwriter entertainer and he had a inherent talent to actually act. He looks kinda alien doesen`t he...maybe he is!!! He has a whole persona of his own, the real legends always do, very iconic figure, PowerKnight wink

That guy has more talent playing guitar than I ever could, however my gripe is I find the majority of these type players very stereotype in what they do. Their tone sounds the same as everybody else to be honest and it`s very karaoke...not sure how you spell that one! PowerKnight wink

No offense to the you tube guy... but I thought his playing very pedestrian (hundreds of unknown guitarists can do that)....and of course playing riffs someone else wrote... does he have any original riffs..?

grin
