Listening to the Stone Foxes and The Black Country Communion.

If you haven't heard " I killed Robert Johnson" You are missing out.

BCC are very good and recommended for those who like bluesy hard rock. I saw them on cable tv last night.
Bonnamossa is superb on guitar....Hughes on bass and vocals is a bit over the top at times but they do deliver.
A nice blend of Zep, Free, and Hughes' old bands Trapeze and Deep Purple.

The Stone Foxes do a nice version of I Killed Robert Johnson written by Wolf and Avi from Coattails.

BCC....Who Killed John Henry by Bonnamossa

your musical knowledge is impressive, I have to agree with you that the 100 riff guy had talent, but it was NOT original, or was ANY of it
TASTY
below is some South FLA music, one is NOT a pro, you may have heard of the other.

I like the tonal quality of Nete's voice (reminds me of david grey), the song is just ok....
Johnny Lang is more my cup of tea but I prefer
Bonnamassa on both guitar and voice.

Glenn Hughes was often over the top in Purple as some would say, and even a few Purple die-hards still didn`t like his inclusion in the band along with Coverdale.
Okay it was never the same without Gillan/Glover the classic MK II line up but that said they both were brilliant musicians and Coverdale is a better singer than Rodgers of Free/Bad Company!
Trouble was on the Stormbringer 74 album the band started to become a little stale sounding and the funk themed idea more so from Hughes wasn`t what the band were really about.
It was enough to push Blackmore out of the band and in 75 he had enough, checkout something like Holy Man on Stormbringer a Hughes only sung track and it`s friggin brill. Funky but with an edge and Blackmore`s single note use on this track was spellbinding.
Lovely song and still reminds me of the times I would listen to it in my bedroom all those years ago when I was single. Coverdale`s talent as a blues singer at his best is also on this album, Soldier Of Fortune, a masterclass on how to sing blues rock, sheer class, PowerKnight wink

One of my favorite Tull songs........
many think the Eagles (who opened up for Tull on an early tour..) stole this melody and some guitar riffs to make Hotel Caliornia...
Could be about an old relationship for Ian but I always thought he was singing to Mick Abrams the first guitarist who left Tull before this lp.
'each to their own way I don't mind
best of luck with what you find...'

That video from Smersh reminded me of my all time favorite jazz rock band.....from the first lp...
saw them for $4.50 in 1969 at IU Bloomington, In.
Their first 3 lp's are all killer.

Chicago, Intro
