I like Bruford jazzy style but I prefer Alan White in Yes, other than I can`t comment. PowerKnight wink

Rush/Xanadu Iron Maiden/Rime Of The Ancient Mariner two stunning tracks from the genius of Coleridge but with improvisations from his works. Please someone complete the trilogy and do Christabel in this fashion! PowerKnight wink

Being a Vangelis fan I thought you might like this link to his discography on Prog Rock Archives.

well, as of Friday night, having gone to a concert, I listened to three bands:
Ghost
Mastodon
Opeth

If you like metalcore/death metal/satanic pop metal, well, that covers your bases.

And before you go and poo poo the music, let it be known, a fun time was had by all. Everyone (well mostly, I sure didn't) knew the lyrics and sang along, smiles were smeared across the crowd, and though two of the three bands are from Sweden, they got a warm home style welcome from the audience.

Plus, you know, metal. Sometimes you need screaming, thrashing, gut-chopping guitar riffs backed by blast beats and sick, through-your-body bass lines. Or is that just me? Many devil horn fists were thrown that night.

Been a hard rock/metal fanatic all my life and I still am, I`m not really into the new scene of modern rock/metal bands and all that comes under this genre of music.
But it`s still around in form and many people love it, I like the development of the head banging...it`s now more the mosh pit.
I like it and it adds something much more primeval in us, the devil horn salute now a trademark in this genre, guess where that came from?
It was around a long time back but the great late Ronnie James DIO created the modern popularity back in 77ish during his Rainbow years and continues to this very day. Italian folklore the devils eye, his gran or mum would gesture him when he was younger, Italian immigrants.
It`s done everywhere including Britney Spears gigs!!!
Thanks for the Vangelis link drwu23, PowerKnight wink
