This is my latest RC adventure. Itís an Abrams M1 tank which is renown for its capabilities as an example of American technological superiority. It earned accolades in the Gulf War. The original model has been upgraded many times and it is the best tank in the world with fantastic capabilities.
The tank is actually powered by a jet engine, turbine developing with a reported 1500 hp. However much about the tank is classified.
The pictured model has been modified. Iíve incorporated an FPV system (first-person view). I can run this tank out of my front yard while Iím watching a screen in my monitor in the house. I have no visual contact tank other than the FPV. How cool is that. Iíve worked where AlliedSignal made the turbine engines for this tank. Iíve also worked on military bases watching these behemoths go on training missions, but unfortunately Iíve never had the opportunity to ride in one. So finally I have my miniature fantasy.

Thanks SYS, but I did not do much to this kit other than add FPV. The writing on the front of the tank says Arniyice and I have no idea what that means except that it could be the call sign of the blue man at the machine gun. The following photos show a perspective of the tank. The first photo is a screen grab of the tank on my walkway. The second photo is a screen grab from the tanks perspective

This is a short video of what the tank sees. I am controlling the tank from inside the house by watching the transmitted camera signal on my TV. To a casual observer it would look like the tank was under its own control, an autonomous vehicle.

Been awhile

This is just a short drone video showing a low pass down the street and back. For some reason I seem to like the challenge. The second low-pass is only an inch or two above the road. If the landing gear were to catch the road the thing would tumble crash like an IndyCar out-of-control. There probably would not be much left of the drone, but I had to do it. Also have you ever seen so many trees these are hazardous too, one wrong glitch and your in a tree. (Which I have done)
the music is Mecwarrior for those who used to play. Also this is a day before the storm.

Thanks

One mess of a storm, no major damage here, lots of lawn debris though. Some still without power.

I just wanted to test some new arrangements on one of the drones. I wanted to fly it high. At this height I have very little room for a mistake especially when trying to retrieve the drone. Itís so high up that just by looking at it I canít tell whether itís still going up or coming down unless I look at the OSD monitor. There is always the possibility of a runaway drone even though it has a automatic return to home. Anyhow at this height I can fly it over the marsh or the bridge or highway without any problem and bring it back. Itís just a short video but it sure is drone fun.
