I was noticing that there is another possible storm brewing at the back of Jose, this, if it forms will be of a female name, yes? If it had been of the male persuasion What name would you guys think would best suit it. Fill the spaces in for mine L _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.

It will be of the male persuasion I forgot about the K one that fizzled out.

Ha, my daughter and son-in-law would like that. They're both meteorologists in Florida who do hurricane research. I just saw them at a wedding in NYC on September 3, and Irma was mostly what they talked about. At the time, Miami, where they live, was predicted to be where it was headed, but they explained that even though the simulations predicted that was the most likely path, it only had a 2% chance of going there! Thus, the map! Another tidbit is that the Europeans have the best computers, so their predictions are the more accurate than the US model.

Anyway, my daughter was up in the P3 studying the storm, and her husband was at the Hurricane Center in lockdown mode. She actually returned to Miami before the storm hit and rode it out in their apartment. Mom and I were a little nervous, but she is fine, sitting in the dark with no power!

Yep, up near Tallahassee, we lost power for six hours and several roads were blocked with fallen trees, bu we escaped serious damage.

In the next year hurricane season, hurricane Lassie will make it as category 5 storm all the way to Tallahassee and you'll go airborne.

That hurricane will have unusually wide eye and will spin much faster:

No worries. We're prepared. All we need to do is stand on top of the state capital in Tallahassee and shout three times, "Lassie go home!", and that windy beast will go right to Washington D.C.!
