Area 51, also know as the Groom Lake testing facility
is a top-secret testing ground maintained by the
United States Government. Its secrets are held
captive each year by Presidential order. Located approximately 90 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada, it covers about 60 square miles of space.

Its perimeter is guarded with cutting edge security,
and its workers fly in and out, living at the base while they work, and are sworn to secrecy.

The development of military planes was its original purpose, according to "official" statements, but it
has always been associated with
"reverse engineering" of captured UFOs.

What do you think is really going on at this secret facility?

Lots of people have taken pictures and even videos out there, and a bunch has been on Discovery channel, and TLC. It is real interesting, and I think that are working on alien craft there.

Real interesting place, Area 51. I saw a good show on Larry king when he was out there. There are some people who research this place full time, and then there was that Bob Lazar. He told alot about seeing UFO craft there. I think he was one of the people who had video tape of some UFOs flying over area 51.

Yes i have to agree that the US government certainly has something to hide at this facility it would be really interesting to find out what exactly but im sure we shall never find out not in our life time. The only thing i could see happening is a situation or a accident of some kind that the powers that be couldn't hide. Until then who knows.
I think one day i shall have to make a pilgramage to area 51 groom lake rachel or what ever just to say i have been as close as i can be to the big secret grin

Did you know area 51 has uk links!!

I'm not saying there are UFO's involved but there shared technology certainly is. There is a airbase on the western scottish coast called RAF Machrinish (bad spelling im going from memory) which has a very long runway and in UK terms is very remote so what you may think but on may occations civilian radar operators have picked up unidentified fast moving aircraft in the area of this base which is supposed to be inactive there is even a civilian part to the airfiled which i believe is only used once or twice per week. The UK government is the total opposite to the US govenrment when it has something to hide they place very little security around as they can then say look if this had something worth while we would have more security i hope im making sense. Anyhow it has been said that during the small hours strange looking aircraft have been seen landing at this faciility why would the US government want to fly a top secret project with reverse engineered alien technology to the UK well it has been well documented that BAE systems had a part to play in the construction of the F-117 Stealth fighter so who knows maybe they have staff and personel working at groom lake. There also is another base located not far from stonehenge which is basically the UK equivalent of Edwards one night i forget how long ago there was a accident of a top secret us black project a/c whilst on take off which im told killed the pilot it was still on the runway at first light and it was covered over by a tarpauling and was shipped back to the us in a galaxy transport which is very hard to hide and very unusal to see at this base. I think that area 51 does have alien artifacts and is in the position of reverse engineering the technology for military purposes at this time im sure something will filter down given time. Oh i also read this is a little off topic but recently a radar operator in the area of RAF Machinish reported a object doing 3000mph but was 10 MILES long and so many miles wide you work that out.

Thanks for adding this information, Merlin. This is exactly the kind of interaction that we need. We all learn from each other.

This is from the UFO Casebook newsletter of 9-28,

http://ufocasebook.com/92802.html

Bush reissues order keeping AREA 51 secret

Sept. 18 — For more than four decades, an unusual alliance of mainstream lawyers, conspiracy theorists and UFO enthusiasts has tried to find out just what is going on at Groom Lake, Nev. — the top-security Air Force facility better known to fans of “The X-Files” as Area 51. Now they will have to wait at least another year after
President Bush reissued an executive order Wednesday barring the disclosure of any information about the site.

According to one popular theory, the government studies alien paceships at Area 51, where it keeps captured unidentified flying objects stored in underground bases and conducts autopsies on aliens.

IN THE CONTINUATION of a drama played out every
Sept. 18 since 1995, Bush signed the order to make sure that lawyers pursuing hazardous-waste claims against the Environmental Protection Agency could not get their hands on classified information about the site, which lies in the middle of a remote stretch of desert
100 miles north of Las Vegas.

Good point! and exactly why I think there are craft out there that have been reverse engineered from alien craft. Is this the third or fourth president that has maintained area 51 as top secret? I believe the people that have come forward to tell of their experiences with area 51 and other fascilities.

I read this in the UFO Casebook Newsletter of 9-21:

Although exasperated government lawyers say nothing nefarious is going on at Groom Lake, they have gone to herculean lengths to make sure no one knows what is going on at Groom Lake.

President Dwight Eisenhower began the process all the way back in 1955, when he issued an executive order restricting airspace over the site. Then, in 1995,
President Bill Clinton raised the stakes by issuing an order clamping down on discussion or release of any information whatsoever.

That was about the time attorneys for former government workers began taking their rejected medical claims to court. Those lawyers believe the government is trying to keep the site secret to avoid having to admit it mishandled hazardous materials, exposing the workers to toxic fumes when it allegedly dumped poisonous resins into open pits and burned them in the 1970s and ’80s.

I enjoy your board here on Area 51, but just remember the Government has many others similar to Area 51, and there are hidden things at those also. I have even entertained the idea that 51 may be there to attract attention to itself, thereby diverting attention from other bases. Possibility?
