"You try to move or shout, but nothing comes out and only your eyes move back and forth.

The heavy pressure on your chest gets worse and you find it increasingly hard to breathe. It feels as though this evil presence is holding you down and choking you."

This is a very good read, very informative too !!

I tend to sleep light and this happens every year or so. My mind reacts to something faster than my body and a short period of frustration follows as I try to will my body to move. The soft thump of muffeled footsteps is just the sound of your own heart.

I experienced something like this when I was a child but it ended as I grew up.
IMO so-called sleep paralysis can certainly account for some 'alien abduction' events but not all.

I've had it just once, during my athletics days, as a teenager I overtrained for a highschool race. Simply I came 'awake' in the middle of one night, felt physically paralyzed and experienced a lively environment with people talking around me, scared me bigtime too, then I returned to normal sleep.

Checked with our family physician, who assured me I was fine, counseled a day or two off training, and told me I was a 'little parade horse', and also had a good laugh at my expense.

So there's no ET-alien connection between sleep paralysis and encounter-type experiences for me personally. But I suspect there's some overlap. Some folks with SP mistake it for alien stuff. And some folks meeting with genuine ETs write it off as SP too quickly.

I agree with the assertion that this is probably responsible for some of the abduction reports as well. When I was working in the woods still (logging), it wasn't unusual to have this happen. Seems to me that fatigue of the physical sort can bring it on.

The surrealistic nature of it all can be very unnerving.

I have spoken to a couple of people (males) who have been attacked during SP, and both of them, one young and one old, swear black and blue that they were actual entities attacking them. I have not had an experience like that, but their experience piked my interest. Also I have read many similar SP encounters on the internet over the years so naturally when I saw this book the other day I ordered it online.

Dark Intrusions: An Investigation into the Paranormal Nature of Sleep Paralysis Experiences

Since his late teens, Louis Proud has suffered from chronic sleep paralysis and has undergone hundreds of such episodes, many of them terrifying but ultimately transformational and eye-opening. These experiences, he believes, allow access to the "spirit realm" and could well hold the key to a whole host of paranormal phenomena, including poltergeist disturbances, out-of-body-experiences, mediumship, spirit possession, and succubi and incubi encounters. Drawing on the work of Colin Wilson, Joe Fisher, Stan Gooch, Whitley Strieber, Robert Monroe, Dion Fortune, and a number of other paranormal experts, Proud lucidly demonstrates that many sleep paralysis experiences involve genuine contact and communication with incorporeal entities, some of them parasitic and potentially dangerous. In this comprehensive, open-minded exploration of the sleep paralysis phenomenon, filled with fascinating descriptions of his own experiences, as well as those of others, no stone is left unturned as Proud attempts to get to the bottom of the mystery.

I believe its the release of chemicals from the brain.... that makes the muscles in the body relax to stop us from physically reacting during dreams. Its not a disease.

I have always seen what I believe to be sleep analysis in this manner Pen. While these episodes have always been short, I have always had the feeling something not exactly friendly was there. But never an attack.

Still, it has never been a pleasant experience.

I can only describe it as the feeling you could be on an operating theatre in a hospital but awake during the op and you are completely paralyzed but awake.
Mentally fully aware of all senses with all muscles frozen, only a blink of the eye is possible.
This has happened on a few although rare occassions and its not a very pleasant experience, you want to get up and move but you can`t...defenceless with no control. It probably only lasts seconds but it seems much longer that`s my experience of it. Spooky to say the least but I never had what could be called any other manifestation involved, sleep tight! In the information era, peopleís life is filled with hustles and bustles. Sometimes we just want a quiet environment to enjoy ourselves. Then you may need this [mod edit: commercial link removed] masking for acoustic interference against listening devices.

Lol donít you just love the spammers, as much as I would love a mobile phone jammer as I hate the dam things and could have lots of fun with this lol it would be like the good old days of CB where you used a kicker to jam or destroy chips on a Muppets CB. BUT THIS IS NOT ADVERTISED AS FUN IT IS ADVERTISED AS A HEALTH AID SO BEFORE YOU FALL FOR IT THINK TWICE, FOR THIS TO JAM SIGNALS IT HAS TO TRANSMIT A STRONGER SIGNAL SO IT WOULD BE ADVERSE TO YOUR HEALTH., god I am bored today and its bad when I am replying to junk posts lol.
