Yes i saw that. plants like the telegraph vine and even grass being mowed signal and react chemically as a defense...Formosan termites like plaster or sheetrock..and I wonder why anyone would welcome any life organism from outside our biosphere, intelligent or not, much less yodel across the universe for them to stop by for a snack. cool Some people even fight over the privilege who will be first in line to greet them.

When i lived in Brooklyn, a rat came into my crib, and chewed my small toe almost clean off..it was repaired..and wonders..it looks almost normal! I still wiggle it and pinch i just to make sure its really..real..But we must admire their persistence(not my toes, the rats)I believe they never move more than 200 yards from whatever nest they have.when one consumes poison it urinates on the item so the rest will avoid. they have an uncanny ability to avoid radioactive material..though are susceptible as most mammals to direct exposure.. i think only the roach and or veggie broccoli can survive large amounts and still reproduce..I can't recall the carrots resistance level..but..

Persistence of life for the rat.. is as tenacious as the persistence of ideas..just the even smallest virus manifests in its need to replicate itself, encounter resistance..adapt..outpacing the hosts ability to adapt..to a small blade of grass coming out of the highway against all the odds o survival..
It finds a way..where Willard ended..Ben began..

As far as Artwork, klat..i really don't know.. I have been musing..on a more complete release..did you like it? Honest? Jeepers..I knew someone else would find interesting more surprises and things in there..What did you llike?
Its indeed like Double said a trip down memory lane..and then some!. not exactly a box of chocolates..but still a treat.
just as the lap was for me..This was my way of sharing the fun I believe Isaac group tried..but people were too busy..counting pixels..not studying them.. Some can say..well it was really a private joke..which Hollywood people do in the movies putting toys or such on to of props like in Close encounters..They do get quite the nerd kick sometime..imagine if that Star Wars figure Marvin caught..in Linda's hi res had not "disappeared".and explained with great nods of approval and relief.....That would have been too obvious..and fatal..wouldn't it?..What do you say Linda?.

If I do, then I want the next one to also be as the Akashic records.a .Hall of mirrors.a cave of lights...with our words, and documents from all over,.a pot pourri as it were.maybe experience a eureka or even an Arcadian moment!. If you will. shocked so whoever decides to hop in for the ride. can enjoy the same process that enveloped and impelled me and most of us.

I may use the spiral as it popped up all over the place and seems to have a connotation with that as does the Ying and Yang..I'll ponder it some more..

Thank you Klat..Oh the spiral is not mine..thats from a vitamin and meditation site i think.Lev did a nice one..a while back another site had a spiral stairway..so did Atto ..made me think of Jacobs ladder..interesting movie btw h.mm I may call the next one Isaacs ladder..Woy..what can I say..That was a most ingenious fellow. devilishly so,.and led me on my merry way..it took a while to absorb..what he was saying.I remember the Reality Sandwich shop site whilst researching him.. lots of food for thought...I can honestly say I am beholding to him, despite some differences which I believe the passage of time has erased..and certainly he and I share a common palpable dislike, not always so before this drama, for war and its makers.

Katter that is most impressive!..you certainly have no boundary to your talents. The Roll of Isaacs Dye ..take a chance!..remember that Scifi series.?.with the androids that rebelled against the humans..could not resist gambling..I forget the name..but quite good.
Well Done
I see you've been staying late at night with the milk and cookies..I am still compulsively toying with it.. love it. grin
P.S. I just booked a magic show for the kids for the end of October at the library.I really Really look forward to it. smiley

If Marvin laid the Sapho Cemtex Dune explosives and jarred things upstairs..then this puts the breaks on the unstoppable..to pause and reflect..its almost Geigeresque, Alex Greyish, and that school(s) comes to mind even AJ!
This is very moving..Brilliant..Katter..Brilliant..perhaps one day you will all share who you really are..perhaps not..certainly I can say..I know you by your works..and your works despite the chaos around us.. is certainly a force and a path with purpose out of the primal womb of darkness and uncertainty rising like the ephemeral phoenix..reborn and renewed.

well done..

There is nothing like the return to our primal roots and redicover our kinship with nature as opposed to our kingship over it..a la Tarzan, which if nature could speak would send us a thundering giggle. Here, Katterfelto who has made humour not merely an art, a social commentary with universal appeal..there but for the grace of..ahmmm .. go I..masterfully captured the essence of it all , the spiral, the pasta..riding a veritable germ of wheat .. seeding, the AG looking like a head on of a sperm, a shuttle craft searching virgin territory (out of luck with her pal) if not, fertile minds to implant ideas ..even DH Lawrence would give this a nod and a wink..
yes..from the moving funny bright side..

And of course the darker and more valuable lessons worthy of a Shakespearean theater that can be learned from the Jungle not taught by pointy headed academics, who never stepped out of their mazed bubbled research labs..but like the blind mice of tales...can tell us what the elephant looked like, and go on to explain the meaning of life to meet the publishing requirements for tenure.
Strong language Viewer discretion advised..

Whether its Aristotle, Aesop, Shakespeare..or Kunta Kinte or Rudy Ray Moore..there is a an important message for us all in Art and Humour.

Let's pause..They say beauty is only skin deep. It's in the eye of the beholder...what lurks beneath it,
is as mysterious as what lurks behind our avatars. We examine the works closely behind the laughter we see an amazing conluence of imagery remeniscent perhaps of one of the most influential SF writers and thinkers of any time. Ray Bradburry and his piece.. The Illustrated Man.
User Image

Per wiki
The Illustrated Man is a 1951 book of eighteen science fiction short stories by Ray Bradbury that explores the nature of mankind. While none of the stories has a plot or character connection with the next, a recurring theme is the conflict of the cold mechanics of technology and the psychology of people.
The unrelated stories are tied together by the frame device of "the Illustrated Man", a vagrant with a tattooed body whom the unnamed narrator meets. The man's tattoos, allegedly created by a woman from the future, are animated and each tell a different tale. All but one of the stories had been previously published elsewhere, although Bradbury revised some of the texts for the book's publication.
The concept of the Illustrated Man would later be reused by Bradbury as an antagonistic character in Something Wicked This Way Comes, the tattoos coming to represent the souls of sinful victims of a mysterious carnival.
The book was made into a 1969 film starring Rod Steiger and Claire Bloom. It was adapted by Howard B. Kreitsek from the stories "The Veldt", "The Long Rain", and "The Last Night of the World", and directed by Jack Smight.
A number of the stories, including "The Veldt", "The Fox and the Forest" (as "To the Future"), "Marionettes Inc.", and "Zero Hour" were dramatized for the 1955-57 radio series X minus 1. "The Veldt," "The Concrete Mixer," "The Long Rain," "Zero Hour," and "Marionettes Inc." were adapted for the TV series The Ray Bradbury Theater.

But of course, I am the only who one can see this visual treat . I rather enjoy the company of my imaginary playmates who bring me these treasures. all to myself..feeding my madness some would say..a nourishment, an elixir without which I would consider myself brain dead..

Look at what the drone, figuratively speaking, in lieu of the cat, dragged into the house this time..ma!.. grin

As 0ur Senior Alien in Residence, on loan from Warners Space Command, You should see the Chinese and Japanese do the renditions of that Those Were the Days, or the
the Leningrad cowboys with the Russian Army Choir Cross cultural and Good stuff. I know the Final report will be proof the planet needs to be blown up to make way for the Mars Superhighway you neglected to tell us about. grin

Now the Russian Rap Artists with a bat. Hmmm interesting...very interesting..You know something Marv? I have seen it somewhere before in the same context of life imitating art. Fascinating statements of the virtual tattooing of our minds by whatever
captures its fancy, the need to belong with the branding, Sony besides owning an interest in Michael Jackson's Beatle collection, RIP michael.
which I am sure is paid off by now, also was quick to see a good thing in co-opting the Graffiiti artists, and like Dell and HP tapping into the grass roots community artists.

John Carpenter, who also brought us Assault on Precinct 13, The Thing, etc.. hit on this idea years ago in his wonderful piece "Warriors"

yes..amazing movie and John Carpenter hit the ole bean with a bat.
Now years later, we get into the subcultures that surround us, we dare
not go into their quarters of the jungle, you cross the other side of the street when you see "Them" approach.
Ready at the second to run as the Gazelle.. or you reason they at the edge of the jungle ready to pounce
Stalking, waiting. Extract these fears, like The myth of the Clowns in a Van..stalking children. why not package them, why of course! The Joker..oh well..Drat foiled again sad

Myths begetting more myths in biblical tradition , the fashionable Goths and vampire phyles , and here the Circus our evil Clowns, like a John Casey
Stephen King Tapped it in "It". Societal Threat or a fashion or a real subculture ..nothing is really mentioned other than the usual Juvenile mischief.
But we look at ufology, and it is no different really.

@wiki "Juggalo or Juggalette (the latter being feminine) is a name given to fans of Insane Clown Posse or any other Psychopathic Records hip hop group. Juggalos have developed their own idioms, slang, and characteristics.[1"

http://www.wtop.com/?nid=41&sid=2617112

Juggalos, who follow the music of the Insane Clown Posse, are now classified as a "loosely-organized hybrid gang" in some states, according to the FBI's 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment. While only four states officially consider the face-painting Juggalos a gang, similar criminal activity is present in 17 other states, including Virginia.

Members of hybrid gangs often escalate criminal activity to gain attention and respect, drawing the concern of the FBI, according to the report.

The Virginia Gang Investigators Association, an advocacy group of mostly sworn law enforcement officers, holds training sessions for hundreds of local residents on the "increased violence" of this group and the violence connected with their music.

Too funny. reading .Batman must be part of required reading material at Quantico.

I wonder what kind of bling they wear. Marvin quick..can we rub elbows with them and market market this? Can we have them wear Air Nikes, Timberlakes,
or what not is popular and by association get a winner.

Can we connect all the global villages and sell to them Make our cross cultural logos , icons, etc just like the LAP that establish uniqueness while evolving into one global amorphous mass of consumers. Dont' have much time left Marv before individuality becomes extinct.

PS did you know the IPC have a phobia of magnets? How bizarre.
shocked

On a non Artistic note..Say..in looking for Docs whereabouts can we impose on BJ to use the UCB's enormous talent pool, maybe even Lindas pal Sylvia Browm or Ed Dames.. in-house psychics and remote viewers to locate him. Surely this would be nothing for them. It would certainly give them a Tad more credibility.m Just a thought. cool

Nice..there but for the grace of chance go I.
Katt conceptually, whether intentionally or not, you addres several matters simulaneously..you are way ahead of the curve on this.
This is somehat reminiscent of the 2001 Space odyssey flashback to the monoliths when our simian ancestors exposed to one suddenly realized in a Eureka moment..the importance of grabbing a bone and breaking other bones with it. accompanied by the moving music Zarathustra of course, went on to defend itself from the rest of the clans or troops , and provide it a winning edge, and land a porkchop a lot easier.
Link must doubleclick to work

I only wish we had inspiring music like that when we have moments like that. Having Chariots of fire playing as we go to work, emerge from a divorce, our first raise, or getting lucky.

Here our friend is building something notwithstanding the imagery on the blocks, undersandable only to us the adults, like a real childs playtoys where the infant plays building yet..does not understand the monumental significance of Letters and pictures..until much later on.
Yet these not understood images remain embedded..and are ones we universally identify with..
KLatt you, with your background on cave art, drama, and theater, and lingistics also touched on that in the humour thread. It is what it is
User Image
. That is exactly what Freud said reflectting on his work..sometines a cigar is just a cigar..you know..on the subject of baby blocks...that drone image resembled very much a baby rattler.
User Image
.the laptop..unused or un noticed in the corner .is .our monolith waiting .... symbolizing the new bulding block and learning tool on our quests and evolution.
The symbology has never been lost on me from the discovery of the art within art and this seems to be A stanley kubric way of adressing the drones, symbols and evolution of its art to its current stage unlike the James Cameron goal of sitting entertainment..
(Hmmm I thought about doing a learning skit with AW at this second, but this is a serious thread..so I will dispense with that and not spoil the threads integrity..)
But very good!...worthy of a collection and some additional thought...sans a Jungian or Freudean perspective of course, Gort would be one authority in that area that if he ever drops back in, and Doc.(.really miss him) would shed some light as well.. smiley Still..another well done and thought provoking piece(s) Katt and Klatt.

PR post reflection 11/13/2011 Ano Dominus 14:36 EST...being the incurable romantic amidst a group of enlightened and incorrigible Renaissance men...metaphorically ...the Caret can be viewed as the letter sent to Oltissis made it..but was mysteriously returned by the recipient isn't it, almost like unrequitted love never knowing why...something that has crossed our paths for all of us at one time or another sad
With that final sad thought in mind..and hopefully without objection..we should title Katts work as Returned to Sender
