Drone Art That saves people!

User Image
A non-profit called ReAllocate is developing an art project -- called Blue Sky -- for Burning Man that will scan people and 3D-print a model of them before delivering it by drone using GPS tracking.

Visitors to ReAllocate's dome -- made out of shipping containers -- at the notoriously creative festival will be invited to strike a pose in a photobooth featuring a Kinect camera. This will capture the person's 3D image, which will then be converted into a 3D file that can be printed by a Cubify 3D printer.

The person can then leave the dome, taking with them a GPS transponder. Once their miniature figurine is finished, it will placed in a container hanging from a multicopter unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The drone will then track the GPS signal from that person's transponder down. When it is close by, it will trigger an alarm on the transponder. When the person looks up, they will see the quadrocopter descending and will be able to take their sculpture. All ReAllocate asks for in return is that the people contribute to a documentary about the project and that they return the GPS device.

Man. woman. Birth, Life, Death, infinity..a cycle of renewal ..I love the Indian..The Russian..The Oriental..the African..Our drones at least are everywhere..merging east and west flying over the artificial walls and barriers.. the burning of books..the religious or politcal and mechanical edicts..can't stop them..Our drone is like the God Head, the sacred Vimana, from which creativity flows..and give reason to celebrate life..not mourn or separate ourselves from it..

Actually I am having a splendid time.
What good is a Truth if it does nothing but leave holes behind..Friends and adversaries gone..Little black singularities ..voids that can never be filled.directionless...numb without feeling....the truth here is the game is over...as Doc said..and others..It was the only game in town. Like a snowflake, there will never be another like it..Truth be Told
Im just the Fkng museum Janitor dusting the collections off for the visitors adding a piece or two giving credit where credit is due anthropomorphing people to near idol worship....simply because..the old players..the first players...were Giants...yes there were Giants in those days....did I ever tell you?

@tomi......it is time for you to shut the hell up already.....haven't you embarrassed yourself enough yet??

I don't think it's human any more, Shads, if it ever was. I think it's some awful misbegotten experiment gone wrong.

Like a cross between some Terminator prototype and a manure spreader, loaded with defective software. It scares the hell out of me!

Tomi smiley

I'm Freaked Out!
You were are and always will be Queen of the Drones..Truth Be Told..

Shadow..Those NC boys are something else I always say..
I paid a couple of visits to the other side and EVS has nothing than nice things to say including it must be a God Send! I am sure the communication of a real entity is on par communicating with a twisted prototype and garden plow, But it doesn't hurt to try. Well...in his video it did...but it's the principle that's important!grin They were very lucky to have had you or the affair wouldn't have lasted as long as it dead. ..I know they miss yor input too.
Last I saw was about going to a river and looking in..but don't look behind..It was a nice response you gave...
I am happy you broke the 1666 barrier..Tells me superstition is no obstacle.
All in all I'm Speechless you came. smiley

ummmmm, Can I abdicate ?

Maybe a better distinction, like a budding researcher who didn't keep notes, but has a formidable memory wink

Maybe the distinction of the only person chucked out of both sides of the fence grin

Tommi..I don't care what anyone else thinks..
This is as close as my castle as it is going to get..That is how I see you...and if I am wrong..well..a master has a right to be wrong in his own castle.wink

Tommi..haha the notes..that was precious..you just have to realize there were a lot of people much older than you who don't let things like that slip by. I am sure in real life you take notes..copiously ..its just that if you had taken notes..the people would say..let's see them..
and putting things to writing can create bigger problems..which at that time things were going fast and furious.so its understandable
Formidable is an understatement.. smiley
and may I add..your demeanor under very adverse conditions to the very end was worthy of the highest noble rank...I make no mistake about that.

Nobody would have ever believed it! Only the DroneResearchTeam knew, that these drones had some real background. Now the truth is out!

They deliver pizza in Great Britain!
