Nice little piece done by Leviathan Studios just before that Giant meteor crashed in Russia..the effects were identical to here...ccertainly reflects the dark times today. Dis*aster bad star. Since the things have accelerated..like the quickening..

Anyway..thats enough nostalgia..onward and foward..

How did I manage to miss the last few pages of this thread? Some great stuff here. You really had me going there, Sys, with your reminisces on the olden days. I was sitting here thinking, "I don't recall any of that. Sysco must have had some fascinating conversations with Dil some time or other. Maybe after that one plenary session where that gal showed up claiming to be Tomi." Whew! That was some conference, eh? Whoever that woman was, she had sure done her homework. It was a shame she was undone so quickly by Dil and yourself, making up that phony episode she tried to pretend to know all about. Some of the boys were pretty put out that she got scared off so soon (another obvious sign she was an imposter!) and truth be told, I would not have minded if we had all just humored her. Of course she probably was a spy anyway. They're everywhere!

Durn near anything can happen at an ARC convention.

Maybe we should have a reunion. I move we induct the real Tomi as a member. cool

Hmm..Tomi can emulate many people..but not many people can emulate Tomi..this is very very true.. the closest was American Shirley...I must review my notes..

Tomi..of the Arc...lets see...notes..reminders..shopping list...notes notes..They are in in here somewhere...copious notes..pencil..slide ruler..eggs..sugar..cream..spaghettii....coffee stains on this one..yuk...ahhh!
Found them! nice British lady from Miami.....Good taste in music..movies..does not take copious notes..La Times editor interview.2008 . Extremely forgetful and Oblivious when inconvenient..hmmmmm..
Field report says Temporarily evicted from DRT 2008-9 executive committee a certain matter of leaked information..
Forcibly removed .along with black and white cat named Felix with a penchant for soiling carpets..
Keeps very questionable company..DJs,Transhumanists.,
Avid Paul Krugman fan..
User Image
Oh Dear!

Tomi ...we don't allow pets for one..or bathtub economics..

Hmmmmm.

I will really have to bend the rules..It's not we don't like you..We do..The ARC has high standards..which I am bound to myself..
but I am certain. you can meet and very likely exceed them

Let me research some more..
.

I reviewed the charter..we would need a verifiable picture and address, not a stick figure drawn into a dress as the last candidate attempted, along with a modest enrollment fee..(to cover the cost of a credit check and automatic membership into our Sunshine Club entitling you to a free Tshirt..coffee mug.etc...)

Also..written proof of ability to objectively critique in 500 words or less a major ufology Icon..like LMH

And that should wrap it up.... the app would be submitted to the general membership..of course
Truth be told..I see no obstacles!
grin

As a general rule I never join any club that would have me as a member. Unless, of course, you were to make me your ARC High Pristess.

The ritual would be to make all of you listen to 5 hours of Chairman Bernanke's College Lecture Series:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3fFg8XIS0k

While contemplating your delusions and paranoid misgivings about the Fed being a force for evil, you will write 500 words or more about how great it is to have a separation of State and Monetary Policy.

Next, after this cleansing, I shall ask each of you to inhale and not bogart the burning stick of attitude adjustment. I will then anoit each one of you with my own personal homemade speghetti sauce and tabouli. While you eat your anoitment I will attempt to guage your worthiness as you practice defense maneuvers against Felix.

Should you survive this blood letting, I will then accept your gracious elevation of me as your worthy matriarchal ruler and expect each of you to dress accordingly.. grin

Bring your own wine and German beer. cool

Um, well. Ah. There is that. shocked But I'm pretty sure Captain Sysco has the only key to that particular filing cabinet. We'll have to figure out what to do about that, along with possibly making some changes to the figurehead on the Admiral's yacht, which we inherited. Tomi's $100 monthly dues would help with the maintenance on that old tub, too.

I had not really thought through my nomination. I've been reminded privately that I should not post anything on the interwebz while on a bender (where's the fun in that?), and I can see why some of my peers thought that was the case. It was the wrong bag of gummi bears though, and not booze. Legalized weed has some consequences yet to be fully mapped. It's nice that we've done away with that hypocritical bogus prescription aspect of recreational use. Damn gummi bears need to come with a warning though!

Anyway, we'll have to vote on the induction eventually, and meanwhile my main reason for making the motion has been effective: I just thought it would make the ARC considerably less moribund. I can see a new office being created, High Priestess, which of course would be ceremonial. Even Sysco can't get us to do anything that requires much effort

There Tomi..you just proved my point..
You cannot defend the indefensible..unless..of course you are Tomi..in which case you would do until hell was frozen over..

But ..you are mistaken..The ARC is not a club Tomi..It is a way of Life..
a serious matter..of no small significance..

cool

Don't worry Tomi01UK. You've been here about as long as I have and I still don't know what the hell it is all about.
