When someone is on the fence it would seem to me that the act of being on the fence would eventually harm the part that is on the fence. Splinters can be hard to remove from certain areas and produce infections of lingering effect.

The tops of some SECURITY fences have glass embedded in them. Beware, take care.

One must not rule out that the view Icarus had may have necessitated his death as much as his foolishness. Icarus the myth that is.

C. S. Lewis did have an "inkling".

Just to clarify this one, in case someone misunderstood it - Nemo's "whodunnit" was only about the "Alabama" drone, not the entire case. This is the second time Lev got caught "spicing" it up, if you can still remember his "tripod" creation sent to UCB. Why? I suppose he was fascinated with the original case and wanted to promote it, to become a part of it... and I'm afraid he's not alone in this.

But luckily, there's an easy way to differentiate the original, core case(s) from all the copycats and wannabes, and it's not just about similar style, attention to details or some other abstract quality - as there were already some "intruders" at the time Isaac published his webpage, IMO he inserted the introductory part at the top of the page for exactly that reason - to make a clear distinction of "valid" cases and images from the rest of the growing "clutter".

So apart from Isaac, it's just "Chad, Rajman, Jenna, Ty, and the Lake Tahoe" - and that's how I look at the case ever since.

And as we see from another site all is solved except the California Drones and small movements in time, space and sequence. A neat finish for a poor job.

A rainy night in Georgia being hummed on a dusty road. Dim memories of Billy Beer and the sound of small soft walking nearing. Unpleasant looking they be.

Why do you put so much emphasis on that poor little forgotten Alabama ... no the 2nd St. Cochran, Georgia drone being the end all? I've seen nothing proving that picture is fake and the witness story is of the same quality of all the other drone accounts. Maybe even more accurate with the introduction of Mr. Smith. It could be of the most significance along with perhaps one other.

Poor Billy and his beer. Did you ever drink it? grin

Avatar certainly did manipulate the mind and after a long run at it. Now here is something, in "the Men Who Stare at Goats" (paperback, B&N) read pages 194 thru 195. The charade maybe over, but should we allow reality to begin.

Avatar made you do and think as was wished. Definitely a step on another path.

Oh, yes drones. Now what drone was that!

I was passing through Georgia, and thinking a lot about my telephone conversation with Dr. Oliver Lowery, and so I decided to drive past the address I had for him. It was somewhere in the suburbs of Atlanta. I wondered if I'd find a normal house or something like a fourteen-story building behind three layers of barbed-wire defenses. A gale was blowing so strongly I thought it would tip over my car.

It was a normal, slightly dilapidated wooden house on a middle-class leafy street, and the leaves were swirling so violently I had to switch on my windshield wipers.

I parked the car and walked up his drive, shielding myself against the gale. I was feeling quite nervous. I knocked. The whole thing happened so fast I can't even describe the person who opened the door. I have an impression of a craggy-looking man in his seventies, his white hair blowing in the wind.

I said, "I'm really sorry to just turn up at your house. If you remember we-"

He said, "I hope the wind doesn't blow you over on your journey back back to your car."

And then he closed the door on me.

I walked back down his drive. And then I heard his voice again. I turned around. He was shouting something through a crack in his door. He was shouting, "I hope the wind doesn't blow you away."

I smiled uneasily.

"You'd better take care," he shouted.

That's from the hardcover edition but I assume it's what you were referring to since it mentions Georgia.

Is that your cryptic way of saying "don't let the doorknob hit you on the way out"?

Maybe you should read pages 185-186 of The Revolution of Everyday Life by Raoul Vaneigem. wink

No, not my intention, but just an interesting part of the book. Daily life is governed by an economic system in which the production and consumption of insults tends to balance out. Would you not agree!

I've really no interest in what some fiction writer says on a couple of pages. rolleyes
And thanks for the free manipulation. I assume that's a freebie on the house. grin
I find it interesting you, of all people, DECLARE the drone saga solved. I'm a simple observer and participant whose only prey is trueth.
