Pavarotti was quite good too..and the rest of the cast deserve applause smiley..ya know.. I love how Italians and French say Brrravo not brawvo kike we yanks.. ..yes..the correct way bravissimo.the iis like long eees...the rrrs like in rrruffles and rrridges potato chips what a touch of class..when we say Brawvo there its to an order open fire or something..or to an encore for Dolly Parton or George Strait in Nashville.

But I Digress..The masks HERE were magnificent.. grin
Like in Vivaldis 4 seasons. winter

Thanks sys. That was a perfect post from my POV personally. Coincidentally, while you were making that post last night, a flatmate with a doctorate in music, was explaining to me about the French philosopher Jean Baudrillard and the concepts of hyperreality.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperreality
see also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semiotics

We concluded the evening by discussing the drone saga and how all of us (both sides of the fence) are in a shared hyperreality together. Regardless of what truths may be at the core of this event. And then you had to mention the masks ... grin And that just takes it to an even greater level.. I guess Eco would love this.. grin

From this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foucault's_Pendulum

The American newspaper The Boston Globe claimed that "one can trace a lineage from Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminati trilogy[sic] to Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum".[11] The Illuminatus! Trilogy was written thirteen years before Foucault's Pendulum. George Johnson wrote on the similarity of the two books, that "both works were written tongue in cheek, with a high sense of irony."

Tommi..I liked the masks..it's a forgotten art form..
You know well I am very familiar, actually, Sid was first to mention Ecos work, if you read the Arts quotes, I paid tribute to him and his Quaderni di studi semiotici , and Klatterfeltos Sir Kevin Bacons several degrees of familiarity, .., and all the quantum jumping around by Bob ( at least 450 thousand of them never heard of the drone story) and that for every idea there are at least six people thinking about it simultaneously, or at least one old age circle says 100 monkeys know and learn simultaneously..something like that.. that there is an inordinate amount of cheating going on in betwixt all this and string theory, giving some credence to the belief that Angels and God's are indeed suspending the harmonic spheres from strings.

Did you say tongue in cheek?hmm

That depends on what POV or position its being done from grin (sys slaps himself for you)

PS..I am glad your friend enjoyed the last batch of spaghetti and came back for more.so predictable...you always had that touch on men. Did you know blood rushes from the brain to the stomach after eating? Was his opinion before or after..very important. After such a meal (as only You can make, I'm sure)I know he shared your POV. Did he stay over? (nomb)But..be careful, those types are very calculating and scheming all the time. They like to be kept..maintained as if the were budding Mozarts or something as in the Renaissance period, you said you ran into many of them ..so you know the drill..
Say...KLat looked very lean in that bo-legged cowboy picture and a definite hungry glint in his eyes.wink wink...wink Meh thinks another round of spaghetti is in order.
PS2 Anyone here receiving email from me last week just delete immediately! . My hotmail account was unceremoniously hacked promoting Canadian Pharmacies no less..Canadian shocked! What's the world coming to?.. Seriously .. Thanx Tommi for your advice, you are highly recommended in Chadwick circles, not witches of course, then again I don't know.. but count me in as another happy patron..say..You know Chris went into the Business selling laps himself so he says in a website(sorry I only promote Levs) .I wonder what everyone else went into after this mind numbing semiotic experience?smiley

Sys,.. sys.. sys.. We eat a lot of sphaghetti in this flat.. but one kind only..

http://www.bakersandlarners.co.uk/garofalo-traditional-italian-long-spaghetti-1kg-pack-pid2992.html

It's so good .. ! Just so you know what kind of sphaghetti I'm talking about and you don't get lewd ideas. Sigh! Also, you should know that without flatmates (abiding by proper decorum rules) I could never keep this place going.. and doubtless would be looking for another safe house. So be of good cheer if not spaghetti..

Maybe you don't realise that having flatmates is standard here in London for those of us who can't or don't want to pay in excess of 1400 pounds a month rent, even b4 bills like utls tax etc etc..

But anyway, it was interesting to get insight into the philosophical side of things... this likeness to Eco's take on things, and with the Illuminatus! Trilogy and learning about the hyperreality theory... so sorry if I drone on a bit...

funny thing about philosophy I've noticed.. you get your head wrapped around it as if it has some major relevence to what you are relating it to.. but it doesn't really .. hmmmmm .. yet it does somehow define things.. but then you get lost in this snake eating its own tail ..

No doubt a proper education in it is required to even begin to not get lost..

Are the thoughts of a unicorn real thoughts? And.. WGAF?.. smiley

This is rather expensive several dollars for a pound ..my lord and you eat it most of the time!No wonder you need more room mates with income. The flour used in making must be really pure 100%, (as you know most flour isn't given rat pellets, and all)still it must maddening Tommi!
If survival and necessity are the mothers of invention Tommi, isn't it prudent to sacrifice or curtail that expensive taste for something more palatable to the pocket book and personal tastes.? But..that also at the same time, is perhaps symbolic the last small luxury..to remind one, life was good..But a whole Flat of you with the same taste, You could prob pay utilities and then some with the savings. I recall during the inception of this recession, so many women divorced their husbands because they couldn't go to the beauty parlor, and had their cards canceled. One sent the poor husband to the hospital..she was freaked out! No weekly hairdresser? Unacceptable!

And yes the philosophies were nice along with the musings..Its helpful in attempting to understand ourselves our place, and predicting behaviours in the context our given matrix.nothing ever with precision for a theory of it all. Yet the musings of Unicorn, are only an aspect of our minds to be ready to diverge and adapt just like all the genes of all living oranisms since the first algae appeared. Plant or animal, they find a way..
Think of when you sleep, and you see constantly shifting shapes , images that melt in and out, faces even grotesque, beautiful, bizarre..on a constantly shifting landscape fading in and out.. a cascade ,an endless inescapable torrent ..try to stop one..you can't...when not thinking ..and you think..why can't you stop them.things that you never saw. seemingly no effort at all..its all self going..ready to create or accept or change the impossible, because it is the essence of the minds need to be ever ready to recognize something that will be to its advantage and body's survival and growth to continue the line and thread of Your kind..your line....and the hell with the rest.. creating even its own demons, to keep itself ever ready for a flight or fight scenario...or to assist in creating and problem solving....whatever..to enhance your line..the clan line, the village line..

But it not really novel or a lot to digest, Tommi.. I am sure.
I certainly don't want to spoil anyone's appetite here.

But yes Tommi, So much pasta..so little time..sad

Ahh..good to read that Tommi....I was worried a tad..
Indeed..IC Only the best for our Marxist friends..
Yes I had a marxist friend who would not be caught dead in anything less than a Red Pierre Cardin Sweater..The revolution would have to just wait until then.
We have a Marxist president as Uk has its that believes in capitalization of profits and extreme socialization of losses.
True socialism.

Perhaps Isaac is a socialist..a closet marxist maybe.."sticking" it to the man for the proletariat..

What did you mean by 450 thousand of them never heard of the drones. ? Who?

Boom Bara bin..Egads! You boyz and girlz are in Rare form tonite! Brilliant! grin

Tommi..If I didnt know any better..I would say..spoken like a true Raelian acolyte..joking .they encourage healthy spiritual, cough cough, arrangements like that. Bless you child..You have a veritable stable! Mama Mia.. Of course it has its benefits..Thank Sophia and the will of Sapho..Why do you think Linda goes her annual pilgrimmage to those crop circles? To photograph and take useless soil samples? Of course not..its for those delightful Dionysian and Baccus festivals running amuk with grapes and leaves placed tastefully, here and there.. NO doubt..There is plenty of detection going on in the hay over theer for those ephemeral rods True "immersive art" indeed...make no mistake about it. I would bet the bank..she won't put that in her books about circles, mutilated cattle. roadkill and cryptozoological phenomena.

No nothing like that .. at least in this world over here.. nothing even close to the tv show Friends. It's just 3 ppl respecting each others space and separate rooms, sharing a kitchen and me keeping it a nice home.. but nothing like what you think. English reserve is very much the order in the UK. Choosing good people makes all the difference. TBH, having good intelligent ppl around is a benefit, and Italian flatmates have always, so far, been excellent to share with.
