I love one of the comments: "This is what's played at a surfer's funeral." There are more videos from this set played at a radio station, but you have to look for them. Awesome stuff.

Very fitting and great find..best ear candy I had in a while. cool

I always loved The Ventures their guitar music made my mind race and soar..
here is one i think you'll remember..and even the Title is just as fitting for the drones.
Time certainly has not affected their talent. Would love to sit down and kick the bobo with these guys..

[quote author=Қℓάť link=board=drone&num=1258745506&start=2051#136 date=1327938935]My first coming out song...on those golden olden Long Island summer "Battle of the Band" days, was "APACHE."

Funny...I still look [color=Black]black & white
somehow! Totally.

Another damned drone-related effect I suppose.

Let's see if the boys write THAT one up.

P.S> The original, from the great guy who wrote it...my version was somewhere in between...

Very nice Klat and Gort..those are great examples of pure non loop midisized (sic) music ,,nothing between you and the artist..like the storyteller who doesn't need props or gimmicks..to enhance the story..yet keeps the audience enthralled..
then the synths came..
Just think how inspiring our first communications satellite Telstar was
that inspired these same musicians to do
and in the space of a few years the mind soared to this..

I sense a convergence here
grin

Ok.. what is bumping ppl's posts? I put a Dean Martin song in for variety... ok it was lame... but seemed like a nice intermission as well as a small hello to Lev.

Have you noticed that the Internal Astronaut site is down? They reregistered the domain tho through 2013. Wonder what they are cooking up?

I know we gotta pull some drone related stuff in here.. but I'm not as imaginative about it as you are grin

Don't know anything about the station, but it must be pretty cool. I was listening to Pandora when Link Wray came on, and I went to Youtube to see if there was anything new about him on there. There was, a great little snippet of an interview:

"And the kids, well they just went ape." cool

Here is another interview. Link was an interesting character, for sure. Record companies kept trying to tone him down and he kept leaving so he could rip it up like he wanted to.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLLFEj3t6Qw

And here is the record that started it all. Heh! Seems pretty tame now, but it was supposedly banned from the radio in some places. That had more to do with the song title than anything else, but still. Apparently no one had heard a power chord before this guy invented it one night on stage.

Anyway, while browsing there I ran across some of those Dick Dale vids from that radio gig. They were all there in a bunch in the Related column that time, but it was different when I went back to get the link. I'll have to try searching YT with Dick Dale and the station's call letters or something.
