Just the other day, somebody found a woman talking on a cell phone in a Woody Allen movie from 1928. She must have been really close to a cell tower, because those things don't work worth a hoot in the 20s.

Could it have been a member of Star Treks crew? Capt. Kirk went back to that era in one episode, to get Spok back I believe. It might have been a tricorder and she/he was beaming Scotty!
The size of the womans feet on that image was a little bizarre to see the least.

But that is the best conjecture I can give to explain that. cool

What and you don't notice the size of her nose would have been enough to send Jimmy Durante into a seizure with jealousy? grin hehehe

There is an explanation for that though.... ummm I think because it was copied from a wide screen TV .... but hey they had to spoil the fun and tell us that.... geesh... smiley

To ALL,

Enough with the ad-hominem attacks already, seeing as it doesn’t look like the dust is going to settle (as hoped) any further inflammatory comments will be deleted without further warning.

We Remember Our Fallen

Something of a commemorative Blog post I endeavour to make every year:

Armistice Day - 11/11/2010 - Lest we forget...
“Who would've noticed another madman around here.”

One of the darkest hours of recent history is splendidly portrayed by Blackadder et al. It's 1917 and captain Blackadder is in the trenches of the First World War and preparing to go, “Over the top”.

A tragic and harrowing story that shares the hopelessness of the situation and the general futility of war, the climax is a sorrowful and extremely poignant final scene when Blackadder and his men finally go over the top and lead the charge into No-Man's-Land, before the haunting final image masterfully dissolves into a poppy-filled field.....

“Millions have died but the troops have advanced no further than an asthmatic ant with some heavy shopping.”

In Flanders Fields
(John McCrae, May 1915)

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep,
though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Yes, Doc, it is good to see you again after so long, great Adder post too my friend. And yes I have changed dramatically, died for a short while on an operating table in Dec of last year, had 4 inches of my colon removed, wore a colostomy bag for 6 months and had it successfully reversed recently. Finally got back together with my soulmate and am in the process of marrying her. So yeah you could say I have changed a bit. And turned forty this year too so it has been a year for change.

As for all the bickering I see here now, well you guys can have it, life is too short to act like asses to each other all the time, and I myself have seen the other side and made it back, and I can tell you all one thing, live like you are dying every day........because you are.....it's only a matter of when.

Oh and as for your name choice Mesatan spelled backwards Lev, I have seen him in person and you are definitely not him. I have been to the mountain top and seen all that is beyond this, and this game you play is but a trifle in the scheme of things.

A lifetime is but a glimpse, a singular point in time. What lies beyond......that is the true journey.
