First off I would like to welcome our new member Betty to the group and I look forward to some of your thoughts on the issues...

You are quite right in saying that they have been here for a very long time...
There is a book out that is WELL worth the money, it's over 500 pages long, and I was honored when the Author "Patrick Cooke" made a dedication to me in this most wonder work...

The Greatest Deception - The Bible UFO Connection

Book Review....
The idea that extraterrestrials were the "gods" of ancient religious and mythological texts is not new. Even before the hugely popular books by Von Daniken, authors like Brinsley Le Poer Trench were mining the same vein in 'The Sky People', and more recently have been works like 'The Many Waters'by Lauretta Lueck and the revelatory 'The Yahweh Encounters'by Ann Madden Jones. With the publication of 'The Greatest Deception', author Patrick Cooke provides what may arguably be the capstone to this series of intellectual inquiries. While resisting the tendency of others to offer subjective interpretation, he lets the facts make the compelling case for the true meaning of Biblical writings: that mankind (and the planet's biosphere) are the products of technologically advanced beings, and that organized religion has purposely been deceiving humanity from the outset regarding this truth, and what it portends for the future.

The book is divided into four main sections. In the first section (The Bible Connection), the author painstakingly documents passages from the Bible (King James version), with attribution, to show conclusively that these were efforts to depict high technology by writers in a "primitive and no-tech time." He offers specific, Biblical language to demonstrate descriptions of vehicles, flight, technology of the Gods, technology of life and the Immortals (super beings). A typical example (of flight): Zechariah 5:1 "Then I turned, and lifted mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll. 2. And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth ten cubits."

In the second section (The Historical Connection), the author presents a chronological summary of high-tech craft (UFOs) throughout history, UFO quotations from prominent people and various UFO-related military and scientific projects.

Part three (The World Connection) includes fascinating accounts of terrestrial anomalies, anomalous constructions, human anomalies and the world's gods. The cumulative effect of this section is to nail the coffin shut on the specious, illogical "explanations" perpetrated by mainstream science, academia and governments. The fallacy of evolution is rendered particulary bankrupt of legitimacy.

The fourth and final section (Bible Misconceptions) unmasks the purposeful deception by organized religion regarding the true meaning of scripture, and the lessons imparted to man by the Elohiym and their leader, Yhovah (God)and the reasons for the deception. The reasons, of course, are "greed and lust for power."
What, then, is the "greatest deception?" That UFOs and 'aliens' are the modern-day manifestations of Satan. As Mr. Cooke accurately notes, "The religious community as a whole has one generic approach to the current debate over the UFO phenomenon; it is Satan's deception..." (for a veritable textbook example of this perversion, read 'Alien Encounters' by Missler and Eastman)
No, UFOs are not Satan's minions. They may well be, however, the signs of Jesus' return, as prophesied in the Bible. "The only admonition to watch the skies for anything is the declaration that that is where the returning Christ will first appear."

This book provides an invaluable tool to assist critically thinking people to unchain themselves from the self-promoting, cynical and manipulative deceptions foisted upon humankind by the religious dogmatists. Kudos to Mr. Cooke.

I wanted to post about my UFO sighting.

It occured in the Late 70's around 77 in Toronto.
There were a lot of Military planes and helcopters out, I believe it was sometime in April.

As I recall there were about hundred people or so in the parking lot near where I lived, I had gone out for a walk, and it was around 11:30 at night.

The people caught my attention and soon after I saw very very Low a saucer like craft, flying Low, No sound just somekind of slight wind noise, it had weird light patterns on it and underneath it, and the vehicle changed shapes!

To make a long story short, a lot of the Military Helicopters and planes flew near it, but this thing just zoomed off in an instant.

It remained high in the sky, looking like a REd Star, for about several hours. I believe the direction it was in was around the Pickering Power Plant near Toronto in Pickering Ontario.

I also Saw stars, or what looked like stars there were about 5 of them, and they just seemed to split apart, and join together over and over again.

It was really strange and I have no Logical explanation.

I think it is possible it was a "Black Project" of the Military but I am not so sure why?

The thing I found really strange was not the sighting itself, but the lack of hearing about it in the local Media considering the amount of Eyewitness's?

Very interesting report. We have since this post created a Canadian board. It is a possibility that hbccufo might have this sighting reported by someone in archives somewhere.

I was living at that time right near Don Mills and York Mills, there is a hill there going north on York Mills, then the street was Roywood. Now when the *craft* flew off it went high and became a Star, it looked to be in the direction of the Power Plant.

Pickering is still a way off the vicinity ,but it did look to be in that direction(guesstimate the power plant), at that point it was just a Star, a Red One.
The main part of this is How Low the craft got, Military craft very busy that night, it was really strange.

The other part I saw was what looked like a star split apart and rejoin over and over again, and meeting up with the Red Object later that night.

I am convinced that either this is the Military or Alein Tech from somwhere or something along those lines.

The craft made very little noise, if anything when it was low it just made what sounded like a whirring sound, it looked very strange, and I have often wondered, if this is Military why would they test this over an area which is populated with enough people to see it, very close to Toronto?

Louise

It happened around 1977, or '78. I believe it was in the spring of '77 though. It was in the late seventies for sure. One thing I know for sure, it was before Close Encounters~the movie, because it was a reference that me and my family used as a reference, so it was before Encounters, I think about a year before.

I know that night "other people" saw it, there was a sizeable crowd, so I know for sure there are 'others' out there.

I just wonder to this day, if it was a "Covert Black Project" or the Real thing?

I know that for some time, the inter-planetary travel theory has seemed totally outlandish, and I don't see it getting any closer to acceptance. Even today the energy needs, the technological stability, the known wear and tear, and all the other things make it seem unfeasible. After some thirty odd years of setting foot on the Moon, we can't put a ship in orbit around Mars. To travel vast distances much further away than Mars just doesn't seem possible.

I have for a time now believed that we are being visited by other intelligences from another dimension. I have not given a great deal of thought to the time travel thing, but I have not ruled it out either. I can honestly say that it seems within the realm of believability. The fact that alot of the craft seem to be as much light or energy as nut and bolts gives a lot of weight to this theory. In a sense, they are slipping through, appearing and disappearing. This could be time just as well as distance or a parallel universe.

BJ, I concur. It fits our preconceptions (cultural ones, primarily influenced by literature, movies, etc.) that these visitors come "from a galaxy far, far away." As you stated so well, however, this answer doesn't fit any scientific (physical) model, even the most "outside of the box" ones. Perhaps one of the best illustrations of this is the fact that evidence points to such visitations occuring thousands of years ago - yet, the appearance and actions of the "spaceships" has changed little if any. One would think that a culture already far more technically advanced than our own would continue to evolve. For example, even in a society as young as our own, there are very few Model T's on the road!

When we think about the scientific reality that nothing is actually solid - everything we perceive as physical is a mass of atoms vibrating at a certain rate - then the idea of co-existing lifeforms within the same space (and perhaps time) becomes far more plausable. In fact, time is, to a certain extent, a man made construct. What if it isn't linear, but rather, holographic. Folding back on itself? I read a great line awhile back that went like this: Time is something we invented to keep things from happening all at once.

If my chair is only a chair because the atoms that form it are vibrating at a certain rate, then it follows that the chair is closer to a fluid than a solid. What happens if I somehow change the rate of vibration? If my perception (thought?) is the builder, that would make atoms the Legos of this dimension. Does my intention that it BE a chair, together with the observers perception that it IS a chair, make it a chair? If I knew how to control the interaction between the two, might I be able to change it into something all together different? If atomic particles, again, being less than microscopic, could be spread, would we be able to pass objects through other objects like sand through a seive?

Just some tnoughts. I love the analogy that we're tuned to this particular radio station on the cosmic dial, but that there are many, many more. Perhaps the visitors discovered long ago how to "scan" the dial!

Some very good observations. So many UFO reports have included actions of the craft and beings that are "beyond our capability" Disturbing as this idea is to hard data science, if it happened, it really happened somehow. That means that the other intelligence possesses knowledge beyond ours, and just because we can't do these things, doesn't mean they can't be done. This is something we must take to heart, and not use the old debunker's code,

"it can't happen, therefore it didn't"
