Havenít heard that one candy only thing I know about Vikings is when I lived in the Shetlands and my oldest daughter used to take part in the Up Helli Aa the burning of the long ship ,but I will search for that story as it sounds interesting.

i have not looked for the answer to this question in this forum but can someone explain to me under what circumstances do ghosts appear. if ghosts appear where something traumatic has happened would that mean there are no ghosts in a graveyard. i mean unless you died in the graveyard there should be no ghosts there as people are only buried there after the fact. are there stories of ghosts in graveyards and under what circumstances were they there.

Well,Wayneghol from what I knowthere are lots of different theories/ideas about why ghosts manifest.Sometimes it's on the same day every year when a tragedy happens, other times they may be grounded to where they lived and don't know how 'togo to the light' so they just hang around.Theories like teenagers manifest poltigiest activity and that ELF can affect the brain and make people see things. One place to start are cultures that are 'comfy' with ghosts and spirits eg;Ireland.England is also packed with ghosts so there's lots of stories there but as you can see from this thread lots of people have had experiences.I England there is tv programme called 'Most Haunted'on Living TV.It's really popular and has dvds from all the seasons it's informing and good entertainment. You would be able to get them on play.com or amazon if you were really interested.Otherwise go to your local library or you could make some loot by writing a letter to your local paper and asking people to write to you with their spooky experiences(most people don't tell others for f of ridicule but are dying to tell someone) and putting into a little booklet-you could call it 'HAUNTED CAPETOWN'-just athought but it would quench your thirst for knowledge, kind regards and good luck young ghosthunter,Candy

Hi Wayne grin

From what I've heard, a lot of times ghosts don't know they're dead OR they're unwilling to accept they're dead. This is why psychics recommend telling ghosts "You don't belong here. You need to go home.....go to the Light."

Many times it's at this point they'll leave and go to the Light. I heard of an Indian shaman who a woman kept seeing in her bedroom at night. The man seemed very angry. Later, she was told that the chief when he was alive wasn't used to women being in the location of where he did his rituals, which was where her bedroom was located.

He thought he was still alive and felt SHE was the one who was an intruder. grin

ok i understand they dont know they are dead but from what i can gather they would only haunt a place where they died, lets say a house, so they would not travel around the neighbourhood would they, they would stay in the house. therefore they would not haunt graveyards or would they?

Hi Wayne smiley

Yeah, I think they would because although they're not physically tied to their physical bodies, they still feel an attachment to it. It's like something that's no longer yours but you still feel an attachment to it like when you cash your check and spend the money, although it's not yours any more, you still feel an attachment to it. Lol grin

your body doesnt belong to you it belongs to the creator,it is lent to you by god to fullfill your life long journey into heaven! If its a fairley young soul it might not know it has passed into the spiritual worl and keep on doing earthly things! until it figurs out where to go or until humans direct the entity to heaven it might be earth bound for hundreds of years! all of this brings up reincarnation when a soul is ready to become earthbound again it chooses its missions how many years of life and even parents and yes folks it starts allll over again !!! just where did i get this you might ask yourselves..... try meditation lol grin crazyhorse

Well I've got a ghost cat in my house. I've had one weird instance with my tv (that I recorded) and I've heard a ghost train before.

I know of several people who've had spirits of animals in their homes. I just wonder if a ghost cat can catch a mouse? smiley

Haha Dan!!! Good question! wink I posted on the angels, ufos, psychic thread about my recent experience with animal totems, visitations, and medicine, and I am convinced there are powerful messages to be had from that source.

Love your humor! It need not all be so serious and grim grin Life is designed to be an experiential and joyful event!
