Homeland Security Reads 'The UFO Trail'

The UFO Trail

November 3, 2015

A computer with a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) IP address recently visited 'The UFO Trail' blog. The user viewed the post, 'Dead Men Do Tell Tales: The Strange Case of Jeffrey Alan Lash', and exited by following links to related stories on other UFO websites.

The bizarre Lash case drew attention around ufology earlier this year when the corpse of Lash, incredibly described by his reported fiancee and an associate as an ET-human hybrid who worked with the CIA, was discovered by police in a vehicle in Pacific Palisades, Cal. The resulting law enforcement investigation turned up some 1200 guns and nearly a quarter of a million dollars in cash located in a condo associated with the recently deceased man and his fiancee. Police promptly reported that foul play was not suspected in the death, but further details of the odd circumstances have not yet been released by authorities.

The case arguably received much more intensive investigation in UFO circles than from the mainstream media. The latter tended to offer rather vanilla coverage, often limiting their investigations to quoting one another, while various UFO websites and online discussion forums explored the players and circumstances at length. Comments on this blog, for instance, reflected research conducted which included the possibility multiple identities were used by some of the individuals involved in the story, and a Los Angeles Assistant District Attorney owned a condo in the same neighborhood as the one used to store weapons and cash, among other items of potential interest.

[...]

Traffic stats of 'The UFO Trail' blog [reflected] a visit early the morning of Nov. 1 from a computer accessing the Internet via DHS. The user apparently followed a link from Twitter to the Lash post, and exited through two links contained in the post, one to a related story at Whitley Strieber's 'Unknown Country', and the other to a second related story at Linda Moulton Howe's 'Earthfiles'.

It is not entirely unusual for 'The UFO Trail' to receive traffic from IP addresses of government offices, or even intelligence agencies. In at least some of those circumstances, if not the vast majority, it would be reasonable to suspect the visitors were simply surfing the web for their own personal interests, possibly entertaining themselves during breaks, as compared to conducting work in official capacities.

In other circumstances, it might not be an unreasonable stretch to suspect an intelligence analyst might check a few posts around the UFO community for items of interest to include in a file they may have been assigned to create. In the case of Lash, for instance, one could particularly save them self a substantial amount of work by reading what some UFO websites have compiled, rather than starting from scratch.

Such circumstances offer us opportunities to consider how intelligence agencies have every reason, and arguably responsibility, to delve into such chains of events as represented in the Lash saga. Regardless of what reasons may have existed for the rise of stories about aliens and secret agents, the case clearly contains suspicious dynamics involving inordinate amounts of cash and weapons that, at best, indicate exploitation and manipulation to some extents. It is not unreasonable at all for such circumstances to be investigated by any number of law enforcement agencies, certainly including DHS.

To the best of my knowledge, the case has not yet been publicly confirmed to have become a matter of interest for DHS or CIA, seeming to remain relatively local in scope. Perhaps FOIA requests on such matters, including DHS computer activities the morning of Nov. 1, would eventually prove useful, but it is extremely unlikely they would bear relevant responses as of yet.

The DHS visit offers us an opportunity to consider how the paths tend to dissect of intelligence agencies and UFO-related stories. Whatever the many reasons prove to be from one instance to the next, the fact remains that the UFO and intelligence communities remain closely related.

We are often at a disadvantage to understand exactly why we might find intelligence agencies involved in bizarre stories, and why they might be identified as visiting UFO-related websites. It is important to refrain from jumping to premature conclusions, as UFO researchers have an unflattering history of interpreting the presence of intelligence personnel as confirmation of preferred theories. The fact of the matter is that we often simply do not know what such circumstances indicate.

Does not surprise me at all they visit these sites. They pop up in any search nowadays that has any associated keyword or reference no matter how remote. They could easily conceal their IP address if they wanted to and maybe they are as well and you'll never know. I'd get a little concerned if they are parking on your site every day though with an unmasked address. laugh

JJ,
What do you find so intriguing in the Lash case...? Do you honestly think there is something more here than just a nut case with a lot of guns..?
btw...Sys , feel free to answer the same question.

Can The Vadbunkers Accommodate Jim Curry and adopt him..Right now if the Rainbow Court Proclammation had been real..then we would have Dawn as Dave Jrs half sister and wife..and well if Dave Jr is still in jail and cant get one of the other Daves to substitute for Dave..Then we can get Jim adopted by Dave Sr They already look alike .. that would make Jim and Dawn brother and sister..Thats what I call real Love..
What happened to Am I my brothers keeper? I think they did things like this in the old testament..like with Lot n and his daughters..lets not forget Oedipus..and stuff..and maybe even Craigs list too..So there is precedent..

Just a side note..I am starting to get curious about how facebook centric this whole thing has been...or is it just me?.. cool

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/01/us/2-names-familiar-in-malibu-battle-over-anti-development-measure.html?_r=0
MALIBU, Calif. — Steve Soboroff is a police commissioner in Los Angeles, a former candidate for mayor and a developer whose latest venture is a supermarket complex on an open field off the Pacific Coast Highway here. Rob Reiner is an actor and a director who has a history of political advocacy in California going back 20 years.

But lately, these two well-known figures have become unlikely protagonists in an intense dispute that has swept across this city on the Pacific Ocean, as Mr. Reiner — with a small army of celebrities behind him

At the least, this fight displays the flukes and fluidity of Los Angeles life: Neither Mr. Reiner nor Mr. Soboroff legally resides in Malibu. Mr. Reiner’s official residence is in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles, though for 22 years he has had a second home in Malibu Colony, a gated community on the beach.

Mr. Soboroff lives in Pacific Palisades, another upscale Los Angeles neighborhood, though in an interview he noted his long history of commercial real estate development and community work in Malibu and said he would like to live here one day. “I don’t live in Malibu because I am a Los Angeles police commissioner, and I am required to live in Los Angeles,” he said.

Mr. Reiner’s initiative, known as Measure R, would require any commercial project over 20,000 feet be sent to voters for approval; it also includes a provision that would restrict the number of chain stores, primarily in new developments, with less strict limitations on existing ones.

Just bought this online from OR Books:

http://www.orbooks.com/catalog/chameleo/

Chameleo by Robert Guffey

A strange but true story of invisible spies, heroin addiction, and Homeland Security

A mesmerizing mix of Charles Bukowski, Hunter S. Thompson, and Philip K. Dick, Chameleo is a true account of what happened in a seedy Southern California town when an enthusiastic and unrepentant heroin addict named Dion Fuller sheltered a U.S. Marine who’d stolen night vision goggles and perhaps a few top secret files from a nearby military base.

Dion found himself arrested (under the ostensible auspices of The Patriot Act) for conspiring with international terrorists to smuggle Top Secret military equipment out of Camp Pendleton. The fact that Dion had absolutely nothing to do with international terrorists, smuggling, Top Secret military equipment, or Camp Pendleton didn’t seem to bother the military. He was released from jail after a six-day-long Abu-Ghraib-style interrogation. Subsequently, he believed himself under intense government scrutiny — and, he suspected, the subject of bizarre experimentation involving “cloaking”— electro-optical camouflage so extreme it renders observers practically invisible from a distance of some meters — by the Department of Homeland Security. Hallucination? Perhaps — except Robert Guffey, an English teacher and Dion’s friend, tracked down and interviewed one of the scientists behind the project codenamed “Chameleo,” experimental technology which appears to have been stolen by the U.S. Department of Defense and deployed on American soil. More shocking still, Guffey discovered that the DoD has been experimenting with its newest technologies on a number of American citizens.

A condensed version of this story was the cover feature of Fortean Times Magazine (September 2013).

Publication April 23, 2015 • 282 pages
Paperback ISBN 978-1-939293-69-5 • E-book 978-1-939293-70-1

That is a really nice story JJ!
But suing is going to be a real B because these people do that parallel processing with not only criminal cases but stealing ideas to..making a lawsuit for patent infringement really hard if not impossible..The Inslaw folx found out the hard way..Thats what Echelon was really about...idea theft ..peeping deals..routing to corporation insiders..

News

2006-2007

During the latter part of 2006 Richard Schowengerdt was interviewed in depth by Robert Guffey, a Professor at California State University, Long Beach. The article documenting this interview entitled “To See The Invisible Man” was published in the March 2007 editon of UFO Magazine. The history of Project Chameleo in relationship to other professed inventors of “invisibility” technologies was explored in depth during this interview.

2005

A paper entitled "Innovations In Electro-Optical Camouflage - PROJECT CHAMELEO" was presented by Richard Schowengerdt at the Military Sensing Symposia (MSS), Specialty Group on Camouflage, Concealment & Deception at the SPARWAR Facility, Charleston, S.C. on 14 February 2005. A similar but especially tailored presentation was provided to the Strategic Studies Group, Chief of Naval Operations, on 2 March 2005 in Anaheim. Details concerning this presentation could be requested and might be made available, depending upon the particular application and intended users of this technology.

Recently the climate has changed with regard to military views toward the feasibility of adaptive camouflage. Both the Army and the Navy have recently expressed an interest in Project Chameleo. This change of perspective can be largely attributed to the recent advancements in sensor and display technology coupled with the degree of security and control that could be exerted upon the cloaking system using embedded advanced microprocessors in one integrated "smart skin" covering the object.

2004 and older

Freedom of Information Act (F.O.I.A.) Investigations

Questant Enterprises under the direction of its owner, Richard N. Schowengerdt, and through his attorney has recently launched a very aggressive investigation under the F.O.I.A. - 5 U.S.C. 552 to determine which agencies and contractors within the Department of Defense have utilized Project Chameleo technology within the past ten years, most likely infringing upon Patent No. 5,307,162 Cloaking Using Electro-Optical Camouflage issued on 26 April 1994.

Questant Enterprises has been directed to the Department of the Army where is is suspected that a chameleon-like suit capable of adapting to the background as part of their "Futuristic Soldier" Program is being developed. There are also underground reports coming out that adaptive camouflage is being tested in Area 51 which have not yet been corroborated.

Setting The Record Straight

Although Questant Enterprises pioneered in electro-optical and optoelectronic adaptive camouflage as early as 1992 there have been several newcomers into this field who have completely ignored the prior art presented by R. N. Schowengerdt, Dr. Felix Schweizer, and Dr. Lev Berger. These newcomers have either not taken the time to search the Internet and provide proper credit to Schowengerdt, Schweizer, and Berger or deliberately ignored the prior art and presented their concepts and designs as if they were the original inventors of "adaptive camouflage." Several examples of this gross negligence of proper academic protocol are shown below and in the new PROJECT CHAMELEO HISTORY Section below.

if we scrape of the alien mask façade what do we have left?
the guns, the cash, a Judges daughter Nebron, then LLanos the LA prosecutor of pacific Asian descent and connections, Soborov the VP police commissioner and a developer for Palisades..Llanos has had every picture of herself wiped off the map, the same with Nebron despite having 14 store front businesses In fact all but the faces we see on Facebook..How would we distribute these guns if we were so inclined. Certainly not on Dawns surfboards..We have modified vehicles, we have boats and trucks with Curry, and Channel harbor associates and friends .. we have a seasoned survival camp trainer speaks good Hebrew, but we need good customers also as carefully protected as our players...to make it happen .where would he or she come from?

One of the things I've thought about - and I've noticed you mention this too, Sys - is that I'm not entirely confident Lash was promoting the alien facade as strongly as has been suggested and assumed. If we really want to get down to brass tacks, just because some people may be saying he believed and said something doesn't necessarily mean he did. The alien story comes from Braun who said Nebron said Lash said it, and that Nebron and VadBunker believed him... and that Ma VadBunker said she'd heard it from Dawn. Even if Lash really used to believe it and tell people such a story, that's still a lot of hearsay for the public to now be so sure he was the one promoting the alien story. Lots of possibilities remain.
