Mothra where are you ?

Warner Bros. said Godzilla 2014 made good money in the U.S. and other countries, that the sequel is already being made.

This was a surprise hit.

MH370 satellite data to be released

Malaysian government and Inmarsat announce details on last signals sent by plane will be made public 'for transparency'

Associated Press in Kuala Lumpur
Tuesday 20 May 2014 02.04 EDT

Malaysia has said it will publicly release satellite data used to narrow down the search for the flight MH370, the Malaysia Airlines jetliner missing in the southern Indian Ocean.

The Civil Aviation Department and British company Inmarsat in a joint statement said they would do this "in line with our commitment to greater transparency".

Some family members of the 239 people on the plane have demanded raw satellite data to be made public for independent analysis.

The Malaysian government says calculations using signals sent to Inmarsat satellites showed MH370 veered off course and ended up in the Indian Ocean after it went missing on 8 March while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. No wreckage has been found and an underwater search led by Australia continues.

"In moving forward it is imperative for us to provide helpful information to the next of kin and general public, which will include the data communication logs as well as relevant explanation to enable the reader to understand the data provided," the statement said.

It stressed the data was just one of many elements in the investigation. The statement did not say when or how the data would be released.

Malaysia has been criticised for its handling of the crisis, especially by relatives of Chinese passengers who make up the majority on board the plane.

Earlier this month family members urged Malaysia, China and Australia to review Inmarsat data for its accuracy. In a letter to the countries' leaders the relatives said the data did not "support a definitive conclusion that no other flight path was possible".

"We feel that it is necessary that the data be subject to independent third-party review. It is our hope that with out of box thinking the whole world can help to look for the plane," the letter said.

The search has moved into a new phase, with a Chinese navy survey ship to start mapping the seabed off the west Australian coast.

NASA Engineer: The Billy Meier UFO Case Is Real

May 20, 2014 5:48 AM EDT
Flagstaff, AZ (PRWEB) May 20, 2014

Matthew Wieczkiewicz, a career aerospace engineer, has publicly endorsed the authenticity of the Billy Meier UFO case, ongoing in Switzerland for over 72 years.

"I first encountered the Billy Meier case when I was studying aviation at ASU, in 1978. I was also interested in the UFO phenomenon, and when the Meier photos were first released, I thought they were intriguing. But I fell for the CIA disinformation campaign, which called them a hoax. So I paid no attention to it for another 30 years, though I maintained an interest in the UFO phenomenon in general. Then, in 2011, I saw an article on a news website that mentioned one of Billy Meier's claims had come true. So I went back and rediscovered the case and was surprised to see how much information is available compared to 1978. I went in with an open mind and spent the better part of 18 months reading all the material I could find and finally came to the conclusion that it is real," said Wieczkiewicz.

Because of his aerospace engineering background, Wieczkiewicz is convinced Meier's UFO evidence is real, such as the newly authenticated 1981 photos of the controversial WCUFO and his 1975 film of the so-called "Pendulum UFO". And he isn't alone. Respected scientists like Michael Mailn (NASA, Mars Mission) and David Froning long ago recognized the authenticity of Billy Meier's UFO evidence and the importance of his information on hyperspace propulsion. Recently, formerly skeptical physician and physicist, Dr. Sanford Weinstein also endorsed Meier's information regarding Russian military movements that he published decades before they occurred.

Wieczkiewicz later became interested in Meier's long history of publishing prophetically accurate scientific information. He agrees that recent reports from NASA and US government scientists corroborate Meier's warnings, from as far back as the 1950s, about climate change, global warming and the catastrophic environmental and weather-related consequences already upon us.

"Humanity should recognize the valuable assistance offered by the Plejaren extraterrestrials through Billy Meier for solving the most serious problems facing our world today," said Wieczkiewicz.

Michael Horn, the American media representative for the Billy Meier case, and Matthew Wieczkiewicz, will co-facilitate multi-media presentations on the evidence, information and documentation on the scientific evidence beginning this fall. Various venues will include colleges, universities and scientific forums.

The Higher Standard of Proof

Horn states that many examples of Meier's specific, prophetically accurate information are ironclad, based on copyrights establishing his publication of the information long before "official discovery" and that this is the "higher standard of proof".

Horn's new film, And Did They Listen?, is now available internationally.

I am just curious, if you meet an E.T. or was close to an UFO, would you---

1. Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

2. Try to take a picture with your phone.

3. Try to make contact with the UFO or E.T.

4. Tell the police.

5. Tell your family and friends.

6. Keep it to yourself.

7.Tell the TV news station.

8. Go get drunk.

9. Tell yourself that it was just a dream.

10. Report it here on ufocasebook.

I found thru the years that no one believed anything I said.

That was my experience.

Was A UFO Spotted Over Hawaii? Mysterious Lights Baffle Residents

May 21 2014

User Image

Residents in West Oahu in Hawaii are abuzz with the sighting of mysterious swirling lights spotted in the skies just after sunset on May 20th, 2014, leaving some to speculate whether it was a UFO.

Multiple photos were submitted to various local news stations, who then submitted inquiries to possible likely parties responsible. A U.S. Navy spokesperson told Hawaii News Now that he was unaware of any military operation that could coincide with the lights.

The Honolulu Police Department was also questioned about the lights, but they did not believe it was the result of any military operation going on in Hawaii.

“The first thing that came out of my mind was UFO,” said Bryan Cuelho of Wahiawa, Hawaii. “It was just a zigzag…almost looked like letting air out of a balloon.”

When Hawaii News Now inquired with the U.S. Coast Guard in Hawaii, they guessed based upon descriptions that it could be a meteor, but with the swirling patterns, that seems unlikely.

Several commentors on the Hawaii News Now Facebook page pointed out that last week the station had previously reported on a missile test that would be conducted on the island of Kauai. However, the location of the missile test is located on the shore opposite the one that faces the island of Oahu.

Another local Hawaii news station, KITV, contacted the United States Pacific Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command, but neither had knowledge of what caused the lights.

“There was nothing unusual going on from our perspective at the time,” said Maj. Julie Roberge of the NORAD.

“I actually thought it might be a plane falling, dropping. And so I pulled over and was looking carefully….I looked at it about probably 10 minutes,” said Hawaii resident Irma Jimenez. “I could see it was high up in the sky. It wasn’t like anything I’ve ever seen.”

No FAA jets have been reported missing and Hawaii fire officials on Oahu say that no rescue operations have been launched in connection with the lights. The lights were reportedly seen from both Maui and the Big Island, which lie to the south of Oahu. Hawaii’s “UFO” was in the sky for approximately 10 minutes.

“Really bright steam between Molokai and Lanai. So we just kind of watched it. I’m not trying to say it was like a missle or anything but it looked like it had kind of like a rocket basically,” Maui resident Ravin Ah Puck told KHON.

NSA recorded all mobile phone calls in The Bahamas

21 May 14 / by Sean Gallagher

Documents obtained by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden show that the NSA has covertly intercepted and recorded nearly all of the calls made to, from, or between cell phones in The Bahamas. The surveillance, reported by The Intercept, used legal monitoring access obtained by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The allegations raised by the documents led the Bahamian government to ask for an explanation of the surveillance, The Bahamas Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell told the Nassau Guardian. Mitchell said that the government would issue a statement today after a Cabinet meeting on the issue. At the time of this article, no statement has yet been posted on the Government of The Bahamas' website.

The surveillance system, called Basecoat, was used as a test bed for development of the "full get" surveillance technology in a broader program called Somalget. The systems built and tested for Basecoat have also been deployed as Scalawag, Oilyrag, and Lollygag, collection systems set up in another unnamed country.

According to an excerpt from an NSA "dictionary" of Special Source Operations code names, all of the Somalget systems use "Lawful Intercept (LI) auspices via DEA access…Host countries are not aware of NSA's SIGINT collection using these systems." The whole system collected and processed "over 100 million call events per day" at the time the document was created.

That other country may be Jamaica. The Jamaica Observer wrote that its reporters have seen secret memoranda of understanding between the governments of Jamaica, the United States, and United Kingdom giving law enforcement agencies from the US and UK authorisation to intercept phone calls on both land lines and cell phones "in an effort to gather intelligence in the fight against drug trafficking and organised crime."

30 days hold

Another document published by The Intercept -- excerpts of a 2012 memo written by an NSA official in the agency's International Crime and Narcotics (S2F) division -- gives more detail about the system. As Ars detailed in our analysis of the documents published in March on the Scalawag system, the system works much as the NSA's Xkeyscore Internet traffic surveillance database works. Somalget keeps a buffer of "full-take" audio recordings of calls that can be searched using a variety of identifiers within each call's metadata.

"It makes possible the selection of audio content against the buffered data after the fact, in near real-time, or up to 30 days later," the NSA S2F official wrote. "This ability is dubbed 'retrospective retrieval.'"

The S2F official said that the division "had great success" using the audio buffer. "These systems have led to real breakthroughs in target discovery -- and we wanted to alert other analysts to their potential," the memo reports. "SOMALGET access to Bahamian GSM communications has led to the discovery of international narcotics traffickers and special interest alien smugglers. This access -- together with our use of methods that take advantage of targets' behavioural patterns -- have allowed our S2F analysts to gain a firm understanding of the targets' activities even when these contacts occurred prior to their discovery."

The memo suggests that Somalget's capability could be expanded to collect "buffered" audio from "certain calls that MAY be of foreign intelligence value," creating a "collection methodology for telephony that may be viewed as analogous to XKEYSCORE." That allows the same sort of retrospective search of much larger volumes of calls from targeted organizations or countries.

Plain old metadata

The latest round of NSA document excerpted also provides details on the NSA's broader, metadata-only collection on telephone calls globally under its Mystic program. A distributed system like Xkeyscore, Mystic is supported by General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems in Annapolis Junction, Maryland -- just a few miles from NSA's headquarters at Fort Meade.

Mystic uses embedded surveillance systems "overtly installed on target networks, predominantly for the collection and processing of wireless/mobile communications networks," according to another document excerpt published by The Intercept. In other words, Mystic uses a back door in software installed ostensibly for commercial reasons -- to allow phone companies to manage their call traffic and billing -- to covertly collect call metadata.

The SSO "dictionary" includes a listing for an active metadata collection program called Duskpallet, an "extension" of Mystic that pulls in GSM cell phone call data from Kenya. Additional programs to collect GSM call data and SMS traffic for counter narcotics operation support in Mexico (called Evening Easel) and counter-terrorism operations in the southern Philippines (called Venator) were planned to come online as well. Those may even be in operation now.

Mysterious 'Fairy Circles' Not Explained by Termites, Study Suggests

By Megan Gannon, News Editor | May 20, 2014

"Fairy circles" that form in the arid grasslands of Namibia have baffled scientists for decades. In the latest attempt to explain the cause of these mysterious circular patches, a group of researchers turned to aerial images.
From the aerial images, the scientists discovered that fairy circles are distributed in surprisingly regular patterns, which might rule out the popular theory that termites are the creators.

"The occurrence of such patterning in nature is rather unusual," study researcher Stephan Getzin, of the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany, said in a statement. "There must be particularly strong regulating forces at work."

Fairy circles are barren patches, typically surrounded by a ring of thriving vegetation. They can grow to be 65 feet (20 meters) in diameter and can linger for as long as 75 years.

For the past several years, scientists have offered up a variety of hypotheses for why these rings form in the arid grasslands transitioning into the Namib Desert. Their explanations have ranged from grass-killing seeps of hydrocarbons to carnivorous ants to termite feeding patterns.

One biologist recently conducted a census of organisms at fairy circles. His results, detailed in the journal Science last year, revealed a species of sand termite, Psammotermes allocerus, lived at the majority of patches. He concluded that the insects seemed to be feeding on the grass roots, creating the characteristic rings.

Getzin and his colleagues, however, say termites are typically distributed in irregular clusters in the wild; they argue that the insects couldn't create patterns as consistent as the ones they observed in their aerial photos.
"There is, up to now, not one single piece of evidence demonstrating that social insects are capable of creating homogenously distributed structures on such a large scale," Getzin said in a statement.
Getzin and colleagues think the most convincing explanation for fairy rings is that the grass grows in self-regulating patterns to deal with competition for water.

The researchers compared the situation to growth trends in forests. In a young forest, plants tend to grow at a relatively close range to one another. But over the years, vegetation thins in a self-regulating process so that mature trees have enough space and resources, the researchers said. Resource competition may similarly drive a self-organized formation of fairy circles.

The findings were detailed in the journal Ecography.
