Giant hole appears at 'world's end'
July 15, 2014

User Image

A mysterious giant hole spotted in northern Siberia has sparked an urgent expedition.

Aerial images posted on YouTube indicate a hole up to 80m wide in Yamal, a peninsula jutting into Arctic waters whose name translates as "the end of the world".

The hole was discovered by a helicopter crew working for an oil company in the gas-rich region, The Siberian Times reports.

A scientific expedition organised by the Yamal authorities will leave tomorrow to investigate. The team includes experts from Russia's Centre for the Study of the Arctic, the Cryosphere Institute of the Academy of Sciences and Russia's Emergencies Ministry.

The cause of the hole's sudden appearance is not yet known.

Experts said that the darkening around the inner rim of the crater indicated "severe burning" that scorched its edges.

A spokesman for the Emergencies Ministry's Yamal branch has ruled out a meteorite strike and web speculation about the crater indicating "the arrival of a UFO craft" has likewise been dismissed.

An expert from the Sub-Arctic Scientific Research Centre said global warming could be the culprit, releasing gases under the surface that mixed with water and salt and then exploded like a champagne cork.

The expedition team will take soil, air and water samples for analysis

Swamprat cheesy

Good to see you.

Odd and odder, why would a hole just appear? Some giant woman just dropped a thimble?

HEY Z, SYS, SWAMPRAT AND OUR WONDERFUL UFOCASEBOOKERS,

Telegraph

Australian woman loses brother on MH370 and stepdaughter on MH17

An Australian woman, Kaylene Mann, lost her brother on MH370 - and her stepdaughter on MH17

By AP

1:22PM BST 18 Jul 2014

In an almost incomprehensible twist of fate, an Australian woman who lost her brother in the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 learned on Friday that her stepdaughter was on the plane shot down over Ukraine.

Kaylene Mann's brother Rod Burrows and sister-in-law Mary Burrows were on board Flight 370 when it vanished in March.

On Friday, Mrs Mann found out that her stepdaughter, Maree Rizk, was killed along with 297 others on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which US intelligence authorities believe was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.

"It's just brought everyone, everything back," said Greg Burrows, Mann's brother. "It's just ripped our guts again."

Mr. Burrows said his family was struggling to understand how they could be struck by such horrible luck on two separate occasions with the same airline.

"She just lost a brother and now a stepdaughter, so..." he said of his sister, his voice trailing off.

Mrs Rizk and her husband Albert, of Melbourne, were returning home from a four-week holiday in Europe, said Phil Lithgow, president of the Sunbury Football Club, with which the family was heavily involved. Albert, a real estate agent, was a member of the club's committee, Maree was a volunteer in the canteen and their son, James, plays on the club's team.

"They were very lovely people," Mr Lithgow said. "You wouldn't hear a bad word about them - very generous with their time in the community, very community-minded, and just really very entertaining people to be with."

The club members planned to wear black armbands and observe a minute of silence to honor the Rizks at their game on Saturday, Mr Lithgow said.

Despite the twin tragedies, Mr Burrows said he holds nothing against Malaysia Airlines.

"Nobody could predict they were going to get shot down," he said. "That was out of their hands."

The Canadian

UFO Seen over Vermont, USA

Date: 18 July 2014
Posted By : Prawin Antony

With every passing day, the question of life on other planets gets answered. Extra-terrestrials continue to visit us and our aviation “experts” and “scientists” continue to deny their existence. Merely a day after a sighting was reported in St. Polycarpe, Canada, another video of an unidentified flying object (UFO!) in Vermont has gone viral over the internet. The incident was first brought to notice by the leading UFO-tracking blog, UFOSightingsDaily.com.

The video, taken by a man by the name of JayTECHs on YouTube, does not reveal anything at first to the naked eye. But, as he zooms in, it shows a low flying white orb, believed to be hovering in the afternoon sky. “It is weird that there is no noise coming from that,” he said, “and no smoke trail behind it.” If it were an aircraft, and at that altitude, noise and a visible engine exhaust verify its type. Be it a Boeing 737 or an Airbus 340. But these parameters were missing in the captured video. Its flight path, though unknown, appeared very unusual, in comparison to other flights in that area. Though Jay doesn’t confirm the evident fact that it is extra-terrestrial, he just asks us to think about it.

But, what else could it be? I’m an aerospace engineer and I am sure (as sure as heaven exists!) that Aircraft are no quiet machines. You don’t need to be an “expert” to believe what you can clearly see. St. Polycarpe and Vermont in consecutive days! What do our galactic neighbours have in store for us?

Akşam Gunesi aka Beyzayildirim77 is a Turkey-based female photographer and photo manipulator. I stumbled upon her portfolio on dA and I knew it’s exactly what we need here on Cruzine. Below, you may scroll through my picks. It took me a while to filter down her artworks to an acceptable amount. Believe or not, she featured over 750 artworks on dA smiley. Anyway, enjoy the collection … and get inspired!

Never mind what it says about TSA training! What does it say about our education system!

Reporter stopped by TSA agent who didn't know District of Columbia is in U.S.

ORLANDO, Fla. —

It's something most students learn in elementary school -- the United States is made up of 50 states and the District of Columbia. But Channel 9's Justin Gray found out it's a lesson that an Orlando agent with the Transportation Safety Administration seems to have missed.

Gray, who lives in Washington, D.C., was flying out of Orlando International Airport when a TSA agent said Gray's District of Columbia driver's license wasn't a valid form of identification. Gray said his license is legal and up-to-date, but the TSA agent didn't seem to know what the District of Columbia was when Gray arrived at the security checkpoint over the weekend.

When Gray handed the man his driver's license the agent demanded to see Gray's passport.
Gray told the agent he wasn't carrying his passport and asked why he needed it.

The agent said he didn't recognize the license.

Gray said he asked the agent if he knew what the District of Columbia is, and after a brief conversation Gray realized the man did not know.

Gray was able to get through security and then stopped to complain to a TSA supervisor.

Critics of the TSA said that what happened to Gray is a sign that the problems at TSA are bigger than just not knowing geography.

"They simply have not been either applying or maintaining standards for good personnel," said Douglas Kidd, with the National Association of Airline Passengers.

A TSA spokesman contacted Gray just minutes after he tweeted about the problem. He confirmed that a District of Columbia license is an acceptable form ID.

The spokesman said, "Officers are trained to identify fraudulent documents, which can potentially deter and detect individuals attempting to circumvent this layer of security."

"It makes you wonder what's going on with their training and their policies," said Kidd.

A TSA spokesman told Gray that all of the TSA agents in Orlando are being shown copies of District of Columbia driver's license.
