10 Recent UFO Stories That Will Make You Believe

These stories are out of this world!

by Mitch Nickelson

The universe is big. That might be a mighty understatement but when it’s considered that the Earth is the only known planet to house any life when there are an estimated 100 billion galaxies, the ‘bigness’ of the universe sort of seems like a waste of space.

Our own Milky Way is host to over 300 billion stars. Surely there has to be some non-Earth life out there somewhere. It’s comforting to know that experts tend to be hopeful of that scenario, too.

Ellen Stofan, chief scientist at NASA, has recently estimated that life will be definitively found outside of our 3rd rock within 20 years. Stargazers will like her outlook on when humans will find extraterrestrial life but what about the opposite scenario? What if extraterrestrial life has already found us?

With the digital and communication age booming more and more around us, proof seems to be exponentially growing of visitors that are out of this world. Videos and images of strange lights are almost a daily occurrence while stories of encounters seem just as often. The topic of aliens and UFO’s might have been a fringe discussion in generations past but evidence makes the subject more allowable today.

The following 10 stories are recent sightings and intriguing moments in the discussion of UFO’s. Many are convincing enough to make even the ardent skeptic believe.

Hazardous Radioactive Materials Stolen in Mexico

U.S. helping Mexican authorities recover missing wares

BY: Adam Kredo
April 17, 2015 1:25 pm

The U.S. government is offering to help Mexican authorities locate and recover hazardous radioactive materials that were stolen on Monday from a southern municipality in Mexico, a State Department official confirmed on Friday.

Mexican thieves are reported to have stolen extremely hazardous iridium-192 from a municipality in southern Mexico, leading the country’s government to issue several alerts and warnings to citizens about the theft.

The radioactive material poses a health hazard and could poison anyone exposed to the substance.

Mexican authorities quickly contacted the United States following the theft, a State Department official told the Washington Free Beacon on Friday.

“Mexican authorities informed us on April 16 that a container with iridium-192 used for portable industrial x-ray analyses was stolen from a truck in Tabasco State,” the official said.

The United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are now “in contact with Mexican officials about the incident,” the official said. “We stand ready to provide support if requested by the Mexican government.”

The materials are reported to be “very hazardous to health,” according to Spanish language reports translated by the CIA’s Open Source Center.

The theft prompted the Mexican government to issue several warning alerts throughout at least five Southern municipalities.

“The equipment was taken from a red Chevrolet truck with plates TC7228-E in Cardenas Municipality, Tabasco, which borders the municipalities of Comalcalco, Cunduacan, and Huimanguillo in Tabasco, and Reforma in Chiapas,” according to a government warning alert reported on Thursday in Spanish by La Jornado Online.

Authorities have not yet been able to locate the truck or the radioactive materials, which are used for industrial x-ray equipment.

Mexico’s Civil Protection agency “warned that if the radioactive source is not handled with [the correct] technical safety conditions or without physical safety protections, it could cause permanent injuries to the person manipulating or maintaining contact with it for a brief (minutes to hours) period of time,” according to the report.

The materials could “prove fatal to be near to this amount of unshielded radioactive material for a period of hours to days,” the warning added.

While the iridium could not be used to endanger citizens on a wide scale, anyone in the near vicinity to the material could be poisoned. The materials were closed in a protective case at the time they were stolen.

Sources apprised of the incident have speculated that the thieves were seeking to steal the car and did not realize that they also were taking the dangerous radioactive material.

In recent days, reports have claimed that terror groups such as the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, are gaining ground in Mexico in a bid to infiltrate America’s southern border. The State Department has called these reports “unfounded.”

“Episodes like this reinforce both what a national security threat it is to have an unsecured border and how the nuclear threat isn’t just from sophisticated bombs: amateur dirty bombs can cause chaos too,” said Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon adviser and terrorism expert. “The White House has dropped the ball on both counts. It’s like we’re back in pre-9/11 era only without the innocent ignorance of the perils of our national security policy incompetence.”

Last Two Raiders Giving Congressional Medal to Air Force Museum

BY DAN SEWELL
The Associated Press

CINCINNATI — And then there were two. Although most of the “Doolittle Tokyo Raiders” beat long odds 73 years ago, surviving anti-air-craft fire, crashed planes and vengeful Japanese soldiers, time has been taking its own toll. Since their 70th anniversary reunion at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force near Dayton, three more Raiders have died, two of them this year. Retired Lt. Col. Richard “Dick” Cole, 99, and Staff Sgt. David Thatcher, 93, are the last of the original 80 crew men from the 16 B-25 bombers that attacked Japan, boosting American morale and stunning Japan less than five months after its attack on Pearl Harbor brought the United States into World War II.

They returned to the museum in Ohio for a Saturday event ceremony to present the Raiders’ Congressional Gold Medal for display. “It just happens that way, I guess,” Thatcher, of Missoula, Mont., said of being one of the last survivors.
“Something’s just got to give,” said Cole, a Dayton native who lives in Comfort, Texas.

The museum’s director, retired Lt. Gen. Jack Hudson, accepted the medal, the highest honor Congress can give a civilian, for them in Washington on Wednesday. In a video message, Cole said it was an honor to receive the medal “on behalf of 78 fallen Raiders who we proudly served with on that famous raid.”

Cole was the co-pilot for their mission’s leader, James “Jimmy” Doolittle, in plane No. 1 of the 16. Thatcher was engineer-gunner aboard the 7th plane, nicknamed “The Ruptured Duck,” whose crew’s crash-landing and evasion of Japanese troops in China was depicted in the movie “Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo.”

If you want to fight depression or boost creativity, all you need is brain stimulation treatment, according to the first results of a placebo-controlled study conducted in North Carolina.

Scientists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill proved that normal treatment of psychiatric diseases, involving alteration of electrical activity in the brain, can measurably boost creativity. The results were published in the journal Cortex under the title “Functional role of frontal alpha oscillations in creativity”.

Twenty healthy individuals, between the ages of 19 and 30, participated in the study, undergoing a low dose of electric currents (a safe and non-invasive frequency of 8 to 12 hertz cycles per second) the first time for five minutes, and then for thirty. Electrodes attached to their scalps showed prominent rhythmic EEG patterns.

The results, in a “common, well-validated” test of creative thinking, improved by on average 7.4 percent, during the second period of treatment.

“That’s a pretty big difference when it comes to creativity,” said senior author Flavio Frohlich in the press release.

“Several participants showed incredible improvements in creativity. It was a very clear effect.”

To test the accuracy of the research, a second experiment was held – this time, with 40 Hertz of electrical current. This involves gamma frequencies typically associated with conscious perception of senses.

“Using 40 Hertz, we saw no effect on creativity,” Frohlich said. “The effect we saw was specific to the

10-hertz alpha oscillations. There’s no statistical trickery. You just have to look at each participant’s test to see these effects.”

According to previous research, highly creative people demonstrate alpha activity, which is characteristic of a restful waking state of mind, such as in daydreaming. That is why alpha waves in the brain, discovered in 1929, may be essential for the creative process.

“This study is a proof-of-concept. We’ve provided the first evidence that specifically enhancing alpha oscillations is a causal trigger of a specific and complex behavior – in this case, creativity,” Frohlich said.

“But our goal is to use this approach to help people with neurological and psychiatric illnesses. For instance, there is strong evidence that people with depression have impaired alpha oscillations. If we could enhance these brain activity patterns, then we could potentially help many people,” Frohlich added.

So, the team has started clinical trials to examine major depressive and premenstrual disorders. They believe that people suffering from such disorders could also benefit from alpha wave brain stimulation.

“If people with depression are stuck in a thought pattern and fail to appropriately engage with reality, then we think it’s possible that enhancing alpha oscillations could be a meaningful, noninvasive, and inexpensive treatment for them – similar to how it enhanced creativity in healthy participants,” Frohlich said.

However, stimulating alpha waves in the brain may not necessarily mean resorting to electric shock therapy. Meditation is an easier way to increase alpha activity, according to a 2010 Norwegian study.

http://rt.com/news/242061-senator-isis-damascus-europe/

As a new report details the devastation wrought upon Syria by four years of rebellion, a Virginia state senator who once thanked the Syrian government for defending Christians is worried about the fate of Damascus, the Middle East and Europe.

“If Damascus falls, the dreaded black and white flag of ISIS will fly” over Syria, Virginia state Senator Richard Black told RT. “Within a period of months after the fall of Damascus, Jordan will fall and Lebanon will fall,” he said, adding that the self-proclaimed Islamic State would then target Europe next.
interview at link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6AVUy7O3Wc
Black is no stranger to the Syrian crisis. Last year, he wrote a letter thanking the government in Damascus for a “gallant and effective campaign” to liberate Christian villages on the border with Lebanon. Most Americans are not aware that Christianity started in present-day Syria, he pointed out.

Years of US interventions in the Middle East and elsewhere have resulted in vast numbers of displaced Christians in Syria, Iraq and the Balkans. “If you look at the history of American involvement,” since the first Iraq war, Black told RT, “the one central theme has been that in each instance we’ve purged Christians from various countries.” Christians who lived in Kosovo for over a thousand years “are gone, completely annihilated.”

During the four-day pogrom in Kosovo 11 years ago, more than 4,000 Christian Serbs were driven out of six towns and nine villages. Over 900 houses and 39 churches were also destroyed by ethnic Albanian rioters.

According to a recent report by the Syrian Centre for Policy Research, six percent of the country’s population has been killed or wounded in the fighting in Syria. Life expectancy went from 79.5 years in 2010 to 55.7 years. More than 5 million Syrians became refugees or migrated in search of work, while 40 percent of the remaining 17.65 million are internally displaced. The country has lost over $200 billion through destruction, looting, capital flight and GDP loss; unemployment is officially at 58 percent; and most of those who have jobs work for the government.

Kerry says US wants to negotiate with Assad… State Dept denies

The current conflict in Syria began in 2011, when the US-backed opposition began an armed rebellion against President Bashar Assad’s government during the Arab Spring. By 2013, large portions of eastern Syria and western Iraq had fallen under control of militants known as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (IS, or ISIS/ISIL). While declaring the need to fight ISIS, Washington has continued to demand the overthrow of Assad in favor of “moderate opposition.”

Black, who served in the US Marine Corps and retired as a Colonel in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) corps before getting elected to the Virginia legislature, maintains that the Assad government is effectively fighting against the Islamic State and protecting the remaining Christians of Syria. Its fall, he says, would let ISIS quickly seize Jordan and Lebanon, and continue its drive westward.

“I look at Syria as the center of gravity… for Western civilization,” Black said, using the military strategists’ term for a place or event that can determine the outcome of a war. “If it falls, we’ll begin to see a very rapid advance of Islam on Europe.”

Former Canadian defence secretary Paul Hellyer calls on governments to reveal UFO information

by Kashmira Gander

A former Canadian defence minister, who has accused world powers of concealing the presence of aliens on earth, is calling on the government to release what he believes is hidden information about UFOs.

Paul Hellyer, who served as Canada’s defence minister in the Sixties, was among speakers who urged the government to publicly disclose any such documents, during an event at the University of Calgary on Saturday.

Delivering the keynote speech during the Disclosure Canada Tour at the institution, Mr Hellyer told a 400-strong crowd that “much of the media won’t touch it [the documents]”, CTV Calgary reported.

He continued: “So you just have to keep working away and hope that someday you get a critical mass, and they will say, in one way or another, 'Mr. President or Mr. Prime Minister we want the truth and we want it now because it affects our lives.'”

Over the course of the tour, Mr Hellyer and other speakers appeared in Montreal. Toronot, Calgary and Vancouver in events organised by a group known as Modern Knowledge.

On its website, the group describes itself as a “grassroots platform that assists in creating awareness about important and though provoking subject matter that is not normally discussed in the mainstream."

It goes on to explain that the group uses a blend of “ancient wisdom” and “modern scientific knowledge” to explain and discuss “cutting edge, and sometimes controversial information.”

Mr Hellyer, 91, first spoke out about his belief that governments are concealing an alien presence back in 2005, when he said that UFOs are as prevalent as airplanes in our skies.

I agree Hal.. it would have been more effective to have deleted that before publishing. But let me pause here Hal, if you allow me, for a moment.
I am glad that the disclosure group has gone out of its way to support any octogenerians before their exit from Earth. I thought it was a waste paying 20k per excongressman, the last time, on that almost looked real hearing ,and I have no idea how much was spent...but here I must make an exception and defer judment and just say it was the decent thing to do for a decent old man who served that great nation of Canada well.
