California School District Rolls Out Iris Scanner Pilot Program on School Buses

Michael Krieger | Posted Wednesday Sep 23, 2015 at 11:50 am

Screen Shot 2015-09-23 at 11.34.26 AM

The following story is another example of how our typical response to tragedy as Americans is to overreact and turn to complicated, unnecessary solutions to simple problems.

There was recently a tragic death in California of an autistic student who was found dead on a school bus after being left alone when a substitute driver failed to notice him sleeping on one of the seats. In response, the Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency (AVSTA) has decided to implement an iris scanning program on special needs buses. So why do I think this is worth highlighting?

First of all, how difficult is it for a bus driver to take ten seconds and walk up and down the bus after he or she is done making all the stops? Why do we always want to take personal responsibility out of everything. Should we really assume a bus driver who is too lazy to check the bus for stragglers can properly operate an iris scanner anyway?

Second, I find it noteworthy, to say the least, how rapidly AVSTA was able to launch this pilot program following the tragedy. It’s as if it was just waiting for the right opportunity to get this thing going and begin to conditioning the public. Certainly something to think about.

From KCEN News:

SOURCE Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency

LANCASTER, Calif., Sept. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — It has been one week since the terrible student death incident at a local California school district. There is now leading edge technology to prevent this and other kinds of incidents in school transportation. Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency, JPA is conducting a pilot program in the implementation a newly developed safety and security solution on their special needs buses. Students will biometrically (Iris) scan identity as they board and exit the school bus. The IRITRANS system will notify the driver visibly and audibly if the child is about to get on or off at the wrong bus stop. When the bus reaches the end of its daily route, the driver simply ends the route on the IRITRANS mobile device and if all students have not exited the bus, the device will notify the driver both visually and audibly to recheck the bus.

Or you could just check the bus in the first place. It takes all of ten seconds.

All of our buses have video cameras. Drivers must walk the length of the bus each time they unload it.

More UFO Lights Seen Over Concord

WATCH: Photographer catches orbs dancing, splitting apart in the night sky above the Steeplegate Mall.

Concord, NH

By Tony Schinella (Patch Staff)
September 25, 2015

During the last few years, Granite Staters looking up at the sky have seen some pretty strange, unexplained things including triangle shaped flying objects and orbs that appear to dance in the sky.

And just three days ago, more dancing light orbs were seen and photographed just above the skyline over the Steeplegate Mall in Concord.

Mike Pittaro posted the latest sighting on Facebook – a 3-plus minute video shot above the Home Depot area of the plaza at just after 7 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2015. Pittaro stated in the recording that he was unable to see the orbs with the naked eye but when looking through his camera, could seem the orbs clearly. The video was shot after the sun was setting and dusk began to set in. Pittaro noted that he and his wife had irregularly taken photos of the sunset but had never seen anything like this before.

"My wife started taking photos of the sunset and caught the UFOs,” he wrote in the thread. “These objects were NOT visible to the naked eye. After asking multiple people to use their cellphones, they too caught the exact same UFOs, verifying what we were recording. My wife and I have a good amount of video and photos between us, and what I shared here is what I felt was the best of what we filmed.”

Pittaro and his wife also posted some photos on their Flickr account.

The light orbs were in the sky and situated in a stationary area while shifting positions for most of the video. The orbs appeared, at times, to break off into smaller lights. At one point in the video, some lights broke off from the main cluster and then a couple of minutes later, reappeared. Pittaro had a friend enlarge some screenshots from the original video in order to examine the orbs up close. The enlargements revealed silver-gray metal masses with rounded edges.

Why spend those endless hours exercising your bud of to reduce risk of heart disease when your cat can do all that for you instead!!

DOES PET OWNERSHIP REDUCE YOUR RISK FOR HEART DISEASE?

Do you exercise, watch your diet or take medication to lower your blood pressure, blood fats and cholesterol levels? If you do, maybe you should also get yourself a pet.

New research confirms and expands earlier studies indicating a link between pet ownership and a reduced risk of developing heart disease.

Results of a three-year study of 5,741 people at the Baker Medical Research Institute, Melbourne, Australia, show that pet owners had lower blood pressure and triglyceride and cholesterol levels than did non-owners – a result that could not be explained by such personal differences as cigarette smoking, diet, weight or socio-economic profile…

…Of the 3,394 men and 2,347 women engaged in the study, 784 reported that they owned one or more pets.

…they showed significantly lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels, as well as lower systolic blood pressure readings than for non-pet owners…When examining the results, researchers tried to determine if there was some factor other than pet ownership that was influencing the outcome. Not so.

A look at lifestyle risk factors also failed to turn up any evidence that could have influenced the findings. Pet owners reported that they were more active, but they also drank more alcohol and ate more take-out food.

While studies continue…pet owners can look at their animal companions with even greater appreciation for the ways they enrich their lives.

Another California Lake Runs Dry..Empties Out OverNight Like BathTub

User ImagePerhaps it is because the world has grown habituated to its unique set of "liquidity" problems, but California's record, and ongoing, drought has not been receiving much media coverage in recent weeks. Perhaps it should be, because according to a report by CBS Sacramento, the mystery that recently surrounded the water levels at Lake Mead and Lake Powell, has spilled over to a water reservoir in Northern California.
"Everywhere that you see that’s wet, there was water," said resident Eddie Bauer. Bauer has lived near this lake his entire life. This is the first time he’s ever seen it run dry. He and other residents want answers.

Pacific Gas & Electric Company owns the rights to the water and uses it for hydroelectric power.

According to the Sac Bee, the reservoir is the upper-most storage facility in PG&E’s Feather River hydroelectric system, and has been operating at below the minimum requirements since August, said Ron Lunder, chairman of the Mountain Meadows Conservancy, a Westwood-based nonprofit organization.

What little water remained on the morning of Sept. 13 is gone. Along with leaving large-mouth bass and other non-native fish belly up, a swift drawdown dumped silt and rotting fish into Hamilton Branch, a stream that connects Mountain Meadows reservoir with Lake Almanor.

“Something went haywire,” said Aaron Seandel, chairman of a water quality committee that has been monitoring the water levels in Lake Almanor for 25 years.

Bauer blames the local electric company: he says there should’ve been at least two weeks of water left and that would’ve given PG&E enough time to relocate the fish. "This makes me feel like they didn’t want to do a fish rescue and that it was easier to open that sucker up Saturday night," Bauer said.

However, PG&E denies responsibility and says nobody opened the dam up: instead the "water simply ran out."

PG&E spokesman Paul Moreno said an outlet valve at the dam has been continuously clogged, requiring maintenance as often as twice a day to release water downstream through Hamilton Branch to Lake Almanor. Company officials consulted with “the relevant agencies” and decided not to stop further flows out of the dam, he said.

"It’s a very flat, very shallow reservoir. At some point it was going to go dry," he said. And so it did. Overnight.

No matter who’s to blame, residents here worry, this could happen in other areas of the state. “The reservoirs are all continuing to be far below normal,” said Doug Carlson with the Department of Water Resources. He says there’s no question water concerns are still a serious issue across the state.

“We are reliant upon rainfall to fill those lakes of course and until we get more rain we’re not likely to see any appreciable increase in the reservoir levels,” he said.

As for the fate of all the water at the Mountain Meadows reservoir, it remains a mystery.

Hmm No water For Turbines..No Electricity...Time to Buy Coal.. cool

Amazing...deny..and admit simultaneously.. cool but truth is all their lakes are running dry since 2014

There is only one solution..The next thing is

While the Media Was Busy Adoring the Pope, Obama Just Made a VERY Sinister Move

by Derrick Wilburn
September 24, 2015

Never let a good crisis — or a good distraction — go to waste. That’s the Obama administration’s modus operandi, and they’re certainly not going to change it now.

As America goes crazy for all things papal, President Barack Obama’s Department of Defense quietly released Osama bin Laden’s former bodyguard from detention at Guantanamo Bay and shipped him off to one of the world’s largest sponsors of terrorism, Saudi Arabia.

Abdul Shalabi, who was alleged to be an Al Qaeda member and a bodyguard for the terrorist mastermind and his confederate, Kalid Sheik Mohammed, was captured by Pakistani forces in 2001. The Bush administration deemed him “too dangerous to release” from detention at the naval base in Cuba.

According to CNN, though, Shalabi’s release is part of a push to fulfill one of Obama’s most contentious campaign promises before he leaves office — closing the detention center at Gitmo.

Apparently the president’s broken promises to slash the deficit and change the partisan tone of the Democrat Party weren’t worth trying to salvage, but this is the one he wants to carry out with his remaining time in office. Wonderful.
