UFO Digest

Secret tests off of Oahu witnessed by my daughter and I or UFO's playing tag?
Submitted by Frank Abreu on Wed, 08/11/2010 - 10:08

My daughter’s first UFO sighting It was a beautiful July morning in 2009 and I was taking my daughter to work. She is my oldest just turned 25, she has told me she has always believed in ET life and other intelligent species in the Universe. But she wished she would just see one already! She is tired of looking at my hundreds of photos of different crafts; she wanted to really witness an event. Well that morning she got her wish.

We were about a half mile from our home waiting to turn right to head into Honolulu, when I noticed something odd in the blue sky before us. It was what looked like the beginning of a “chemtrail”, “contrail” (I don’t think so” but it was a trail of white smoke leaving a streak in the sky.

It was moving without sound or sonic booms, as it was close enough to land we should have heard it.

Another fascinating thing was we could not see what was making the trail! I started snapping photographs like crazy. Then out of nowhere another trail just appears and they start to chase each other like they are playing tag. I shot and shot until the trails turned and headed out to the horizon faster than anything I have seen in my 48 years.

I could not wait to see the 6 O’clock news, but of course not one station had it as a story! I was in shock, it was so close to a highly populated area and someone else had to have seen it or took pictures of it, maybe even video, if you are reading this and you did please contact me.

Whatever they were they were not planes, jets, they were making impossible turns 90 degree turns , L shaped turns on a dime, disappearing then reappearing, I could not wait until I dropped her off at work and raced home to look at the images on my computer. I was not let down, what I saw blew me away. Until today, I have gotten some pretty impressive images lately but these still baffle me. I smell military really bad. Some secret test, but when I discovered the whole thing was being monitored by other stationary UFO craft all visible in my images, one bell shaped one high up, and a couple more discs, orbs.

Only now I have gotten up the courage to expose this happening and hope that someone who reads this saw it too. It’s a long shot but I have never shown these images to anyone but close family and friends.

The Anomalist

The McDowell News

In the newest edition of his "Tales of the Weird" column, Mike Conley relates the story of a fearless Native-American mountain man, Muchalat Harry, who never returned to the woods after a Sasquatch encounter on the Conuma River in the autumn of 1928. Was an expert trapper and woodsman so terrified by his Sasquatch encounter that it turned his hair white overnight? Elsewhere, another Sasquatch tale from yesteryear is related, with video, in Javier Ortega's North Carolina Bigfoot: Spotted 32 Years Ago. Meanwhile, Gordon Rutter holidays at Loch Ness to give us a glimpse of two men who have spent considerable time on its surface and on its shore Living the Dream. And another cryptid creature is featured in Young Pitcher Wowed by Monster Activity. Just What Was in the River in 1937?, with the same article repeated and a great deal more information provided at Phantoms & Monsters in The White River Monster: Myth or Reality? With images:

'Last Man Standing' sci-fi project won by Paramount
Winning a bidding war, Paramount has picked up “Last Man Standing: Killbook of a Bounty Hunter,” a coffee table book from Heavy Metal Publishing.

Scott Aversano will produce along with Daniel LuVisi, the creator of “LMS,” as it's known for short.

“LMS" is a giant art-filled book that will jump into the graphic novel form and have a presence online as well.

The property centers on a bounty hunter named Gabriel, created by a weapons organization to be part of its army of Paladins, “a soldier with the talent of 500 soldiers.”

After being framed and sent to prison, he escapes and enters the world of New Amerika, filled with genetically enhanced shark-men, ninjas and burlesque girls, as he tries to unravel the reason behind his set-up.

Peter Levin Russell Binder and Stephan Lokotsch will exec produce.

Paramount beat out Warner Bros. and Summit in the bidding.

Hawaii 24/7

NOAA reviewing humpback whale sanctuary future
Posted on August 12, 2010. Tags: allen tom, hawaiian islands humpback whale sanctuary, noaa

Karin Stanton | Hawaii 24/7 Contributing Editor

NOAA began its review of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale Sanctuary with two meetings this week on the Big Islands. About 30 people attended Tuesday’s scoping meeting in Hilo; another 60 attended Wednesday’s meeting in Kona.

Following a round of informational meetings in May, NOAA and sanctuary staff are off on another statewide series of scoping meetings to solicit public comment and allow community members to provide views on the visioning document, and specifically, the possible roles the sanctuary could play in helping to achieve a broader vision for future ocean conservation efforts in Hawaii.

“It’s really an ongoing process,” said Allen Tom, Pacific Islands Regional Director for the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. “This plan will really tell us where we are going.”

Speaking at Wednesday’s meeting, Tom said, the management plan review will take several years to complete and will likely result in a new management plan for the sanctuary. Management plans serve as “blueprints” for future sanctuary operations for the next 5-10 years and as a framework for addressing critical issues.

It lays the foundation for restoring and protecting the sanctuary’s target resources, details the human pressures and threats impacting the sanctuary and recommends actions that should be taken now and in the future to better manage the area.

Tom said he was pleased to see so many people come to the meetings (another eight are scheduled around the state in the coming weeks) so early in the process.

“The bottom line is people care about and are concerned about the marine environment,” he said. “That’s nice to see.”

Tom said he expects residents on different islands will have different issues they deem priorities. For example, he said, he expected to hear more about dolphins and tropical fish collecting in Kona, water quality on Maui and acoustic testing on Kauai.

People who live, work and play along Hawaii’s shores have much to said about how it is managed and protected, he said, and the sanctuary wants to hear those opinions.

“People are passionate about the ocean. They might complain a little, but they are also offering up ideas and solution,” Tom said.

At Wednesday’s Kona meeting, the attendees split into three groups and, led by facilitators, shared their concerns, ideas and opinions.

Afterward, the facilitators said they appreciated hearing the local knowledge and while not everyone is in agreement about every issue, there is one overall consensus – a healthy ocean and marine environment is critical to recreation, business and Native Hawaiian cultural practices.

Among the comments at Kona’s meeting:

* All marine mammals and coral reef ecosystems should be protected.
* Emphasis should be placed on education and outreach, especially to Hawaii’s youngsters and visitors.
* Concerns and needs of fishermen should be considered.
* Captains and tour operators should be formally educated.
* Better coordination between land and ocean agencies.
* The Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) is spread too thin.
* The sanctuary should be expanded. (Currently, the Big Island portion of the sanctuary stretches along the western shore from Upolu Point to Keahole Point.)
* Halt all U.S. Navy sonar testing.

Among the questions at Kona’s meeting:

* What happens if NOAA and the state Department of Land and Natural Resources disagree?
* What is being done to address water quality within the sanctuary?
* What about Native Hawaiian fishing rights?

The staff expects to finish compiling all the comments into a public document by the end of the year. A draft management plan and Environmental Impact Statement will be developed in 2011.

Tom said the final plan will be presented to the governor and the U.S. Congress sometime in 2014.

The sanctuary

The sanctuary is located from the shoreline to the 100-fathom isobath (600 ft. depth) in the four island area of Maui; Penguin Bank; and off the north shore of Kauai, the north and south shores of Oahu, and the north Kona and Kohala coasts of the Big Island.

The primary purpose and mission of the sanctuary is to protect humpback whales and their habitat within the Hawaiian Islands. However, the sanctuary was mandated by Congress in the 1992 Hawaiian Islands National Marine Sanctuary Act to identify and evaluate additional resources and ecosystems of national significance.

During the last review of the sanctuary’s management plan in 2002, numerous public comments were received requesting the sanctuary to increase its scope to include the conservation and management of other resources and species. The governor expressed support for considering other marine mammals and sea turtles for possible inclusion to the sanctuary.

The marine resources listed for evaluation by state and community partners to date include dolphins, other whales, Hawaiian monk seals, sea turtles, and maritime heritage resources including historic downed aircraft and sunken ships.

Here's a send up of end of times movies.

The apocalyptic end of the world drama is such a played out subgenre that there’s nothing left to do but make fun of it. And if you’re Woody Tondorf making fun of things is what you do best. This is after all the same guy that created one of YouTube’s most popular scripted comedy web series Elevator, that racked up over 20 million views in its 3-year run.

Tondorf’s latest comedy is aiming to do just that. Apocalypse WOW released their first trailer later yesterday evening, after screening it down at Comic-Con in San Diego last month. As of now the project is just a pilot episode and trailer, produced on what Tondorf says is “a tiny spec budget” in hopes of luring in investors or one of the online studios or networks to pick up the series.

Tondorf teamed up with Blue Movies creator Scott Brown, who directed the promo episodes, and cast the ‘Kevin Bacon of web series’, Craig Frank (Craig & The Werewolf, The Crew, Compulsions, A Good Knight’s Quest) along with Harper’s Globe star Melanie Merkosky, Ben Begley, McKenzie Westmore and GOLD’s David Nett.

With a solid cast all with respectable followings amongst web series fans, it’s possible we’ll see this get more than just one episode. The pitching studios with just a five-minute pilot and trailer route isn’t easy, especially in an ever-crowded field of web pilots this year. But hey, The Bannen Way guys were able to make it happen with Sony, and there’s no doubt there will be more by year’s end.

The Frederick Valentich Incident

The Frederick Valentich Incident is probably the most significant UFO encounter in Australia. This account involves a young 20 year old pilot, Frederick Valentich, who filed a flight plan at Moorabin for a night flight to King Island where he was to pick up some friends and then fly back. King Island is in the Bass Strait between Australia and Tasmania.

On October 21st 1978 at 1819hrs, Frederick Valentich took off in his single-engined Cessna 182 from Moorabin Airport, Melbourne, Australia. As he was flying along the Bass Strait at about 5000ft altitude he told Air Traffic Controllers in Melbourne that he could see a large aircraft below him and wanted to know if they were aware of any aircraft in the area. Melbourne ATC said there were no known aircraft in the area and asked if he could identify it. Frederick said he couldn't identify it but it had four bright lights. The UFO then passed over him and appeared to be playing some sort of game with him. He said that the object was a long shape, very fast with a green light and sort of metallic, and that it was not an aircraft. The object was orbiting him and then just vanished. The UFO then reappeared approaching from the south-west. Fredrick reported that his engine was rough-idling and coughing. Melbourne ATC asked what his intentions were and he replied ' My intentions are - ah - to go to King Island - ah - Melbourne. That strange aircraft is hovering on top of me again (open microphone for two seconds). It is hovering and it's not an aircraft.'

Valentich filed a flight plan to take off from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and to land at Kings Island, Bass Straits, Tasmania

The last transmission from Frederick Valentich was at 1912hrs and an alert was immediately declared. When at 1933hrs it was evident that the Cessna 182 (Delta Sierra Juliet) had not arrived at King Island a full scale Search and rescue operation was launched. After five days of searching no sign of the pilot or aircraft was found despite the fact that the Cessna was equipped with a radio survival beacon.

The weather at the time of this incident was clear with a trace of Stratocumulus cloud at 5000-7000ft, excellent visibility with light winds. The aircraft was fully refuelled with approximately 5hrs of flying time and was equipped with 4 life jackets. There had also been many UFO sightings from people before and after this incident. Whatever the truth may be, the fact remains that Frederick Valentich vanished in mysterious circumstances, possibly UFO related, and that the mystery lingers to this day.

Thank you for that..... smiley I often think of the Valentich disappearance. I was young at the time, and it was on everyone's lips, and was news headlines for a while.... They searched and searched for plane wreckage... anything to find a clue about what happened. It was so long ago now, but it still comes to mind....

Evening all. Been a particularly boring day today... been trampolining quite a bit and playing through an old Xbox game but otherwise, meh. I ordered Alien Agenda from eBay so hopefully I'll have something decent to read soon.

Hi CA519705950,
"Alien Agenda" is a good book. Have you read Bramley's "The Gods of Eden"? That's another good one.

Spaceflight Now. Some really nice photos of the Advanced Extremely High Frequency satellite -- AHEF 1 -- being encapsulated within the Atlas 5 rocket's nose cone at the Astrotech processing cleanroom near Titusville and then delivered to the Vertical Integration Facility at Cape Canaveral's Complex 41 for mating atop the launch vehicle.
