Interesting, Cliff.

hmmm, id say space is infinite & stationary. I would class the universe as material (stars, planets, dust etc)-- I believe it's possible this is what is expanding at whatever speed, not space?

If space is expanding faster than everything else then surely the friction on stars, planets, dust etc would be immense, with catastrophic results like a massive explosion. A big bang if you like. The start of a new universe? If of course there is friction created?

Anyway, what do I know grin

Peace.

Maybe if you have an hour to kill you could look at this from the late seventies.

Compare the predictions with what has happened.

Going back to the space thing.

It seems that what we need to remember is that it isn't a case of stars (or galaxies) moving away from us in space. It is that something is 'appearing' in the void we call space and making this void bigger.

I need more coffee.

p.s. re the missing 'g'. found the problem. A passing neutrino side swiped me. Gone onto a back up system.

Also added 'Turing' to my spell checker. wink

MOKSHA,

I don't know.
But you could try entering 'BBC Horizon archive' Into Google.
I can't test this as it will direct me to the link I posted.

Afraid not. That is a relatively modern documentary.

The one I mean is from, I think, 1978. The dawn of the age of the microchip.

It's called 'Now the chips are down'.
