HAL,

"AS A NATION THE UK IS SATURATED." YEP!..."IT DOES NOT NEED A STEADY INFLUX OF EUROPEAN MIGRANT WORKERS, MANY WHO ARE UNSKILLED AND CAN ONLY FILL THE KIND OF LOW TECH JOBS THAT WE ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH WORKERS TO FILL." wink

HAVING NOTED THE ABOVE...

Leaflet posted to millions of households lists London dozens of areas in England overrun by migrants

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/uknews/1829951/parts-of-the-uk-are-no-go-areas-due-to-the-high-number-of-immigrants-claims-the-hungarian-government/

It claims these cities are among dozens of areas in England overrun by migrants and “the norms of the host society… barely prevail”.

The pamphlet published as part of a referendum of EU migrant quotas warns: “The so-called ‘no-go’ zones are areas of cities that the authorities are unable to keep under their control.

"SO, WHAT WOULD THERE BE TO PREVENT THEM JUST MOVING INTO SCOTLAND AND CREATING THE KIND OF CROSS BORDER PROBLEMS WE ARE SEEING IN EUROPE ?"

MY FIRST THOUGHTS...ALLUDING TO OUR CONVERSATION...

"A DAMN GREAT WALL" ~ SHALL WE ASSUME SCOTLAND WILL BUILD THIS WALL?

FROM A SCOTTISH PERSPECTIVE ~ QUITE A CLEVER RUSE!!!

"WE WILL THROW IT IN FOR FREE. AND EVEN PAY FOR IT."

Billion-barrel North Sea oil discovery is largest UK find of the century

Article 50: Two Unions At Risk

Nothing is clear as to what will happen, feels a bit like a house of cards, then there is Europe itself, it may fall apart. If any wall is to be abided by I will stick to Antonines as I already have a bit of it in my back garden. I can live with the wall.

....Billion-barrel North Sea oil discovery is largest UK find of the century...

Doesn't matter how much there is people can buy cheaper elsewhere.

America's shale oil looks as if it will produce a glut there.
So the OPEC countries (and Russia) will be looking for other markets to take up their excess production.

Re Jonathan Edwards.

... it will only be a matter of time before the people of Wales begin to wonder: would we not be better off if we began governing ourselves?...

Of course, he has to be joking.

Not arguing the toss with you over North Sea Oil or US Shale Oil, either way my area of Scotland benefits. From my mums' house I can see the US Shale Oil sail up the River Forth.

US producers build up sales hedges as oil falls

A tanker carrying shale gas arrives in the Firth of Forth on its way to the Grangemouth oil refinery
SEPTEMBER 27, 2016 by: Mure Dickie in Edinburgh and Andrew Ward in London
The first shipment of US shale gas to Britain arrived in Scotland on Tuesday, opening a new source of supply for the UK at a time of mounting debate over whether it should exploit its own unconventional gas resources.

A tanker carrying 27,500 cubic metres of ethane has docked at the Grangemouth refinery in the Firth of Forth for use in chemicals manufacturing by Ineos, the petrochemicals group.

Ineos said the cargo marked the opening of a “virtual pipeline” across the Atlantic connecting the UK market with cheap and plentiful US shale gas.

This would secure the future of Grangemouth — Scotland’s most important industrial complex — for the next 15 years, Ineos said. But Jim Ratcliffe, the group’s British founder and chairman, said the best long-term solution would be for the UK to open its own shale resources to fracking.

Advocates for fracking, which involves pumping large volumes of water, sand and chemicals underground at high pressure to release gas and oil trapped in rock, say the practice could transform the UK energy market in the way it has done in the US.

The UK government has been broadly supportive but exploration has so far been held back by local opposition fuelled by environmental concerns. The Scottish government last year imposed a moratorium on fracking north of the border and the UK Labour party this week said it would ban the practice if it came to power.

UK fracking gets the green light

Mr Ratcliffe has previously accused UK and Scottish politicians of “hypocrisy” for relying on US shale gas supplies to keep Grangemouth open while blocking local exploration.

Ineos is keen to do its own fracking with plans to start drilling test wells in the north of England next year.

Tuesday’s shipment shows how shale resources have turned the US into a global exporter of gasoline products after decades of import dependency.

Mr Ratcliffe told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that, while the collapse in worldwide oil and gas prices during the past two years had narrowed the economic advantage of US shale gas, it remained cheaper than other sources such as the North Sea, Russia and the Middle East.

Ineos said US supplies would transform the economics of its European ethane “crackers”, which produce the base chemicals used in most plastics. One of its crackers at Grangemouth has come back into operation this year after being mothballed eight years ago because of a shortage of North Sea supplies.

The group has invested in a new fleet of eight purpose-built Dragon Class gas carriers and new ethane storage facilities at its plants in Rafnes in Norway and Grangemouth.

The Grangemouth ethane tank is billed as the largest in Europe at 44m high and its construction last year symbolised a remarkable turnround in the plant’s fortunes.

Ineos had announced it would close its Grangemouth operations during a dispute with the Unite union in 2013, only reprieving it after workers accepted changes to pensions and other conditions and promised not to strike for three years.

“All the parts of the jigsaw are finally coming together and Grangemouth will soon be back in the premier league of European petrochemical plants,” Gordon Milne, Ineos operations director at Grangemouth said in March.

Scottish Enterprise, a government agency, hailed the shale gas imports as a “great example of innovation and dynamism” in Scotland’s chemicals sector. “Today is a landmark day for Ineos,” said Adrian Gillespie, its managing director for infrastructure.

Mr Ratcliffe has said an independent Scotland would need to embrace fracking to balance its books, but the governing Scottish National party is under pressure from some of its members to turn its moratorium into an outright ban.

The only party in the Scottish parliament that is enthusiastic about fracking’s potential is the Conservatives, who on Tuesday accused the SNP of “infantile objections”.

This is how I grew up......

When you're from the farm, your perception is a little bit different.

User Image

A farmer drove to a neighbor’s farmhouse and knocked at the door.

A boy, about 9, opened the door.

"Is your dad or mom home?" said the farmer.

"No, they went to town."

"How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?"

"No, he went with Mom and Dad."

The farmer stood there for a few seconds, shifting from one foot to the other, mumbling to himself. The young boy says, "I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one, or I can give Dad a message."

"Well," said the farmer uncomfortably. "No, I really want to talk to your Dad, about your brother Howard getting my daughter Suzy pregnant".

The boy thought for a moment, then says, "You'll have to talk to my Dad about that. I know he charges $200 for the bull and $50 for the boar, but I have no idea how much he charges for Howard."

Mysterious Universe

Physicist Warns Aliens are Here and Plan to Quarantine Earth

March 30, 2017
by Paul Seaburn

He has BS and MS degrees in Physics from University of Chicago. As a nuclear physicist for a number of major corporations and military contractors, he worked on secret projects to build nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and nuclear power plants to be used in outer space. He was the first civilian to investigate the Roswell UFO incident and has since become known as the Father of Roswell and the Flying Saucer Physicist. Is this enough to believe Stanton T. Friedman when he gives this kind of warning to his fellow Earthlings?

"I think they are here. I think they are here to quarantine us, keep us from going out there. With our track record – we’re evil."

Uh-oh. In a new interview, Stanton Friedman addresses the recent Wikileaks releases of formerly-classified CIA documents on UFO sightings around the world. He believes these documents should tell everyone else what he already knows.

"We have enough to prove without a shadow of a doubt that Planet Earth is being visited [by aliens]."

Do we? Even if the redacted portions of those documents were revealed, it doesn’t seem they contain the “beyond a shadow of a doubt” missing link. Perhaps he’s implying that someone or some organization is keeping that crucial piece of information from us.

He didn't feel this way the first 30 years.... You'll have to excuse Stan; he's just getting old and grumpy.....like me.
