GOOD MORNING ALL cheesy

Multiple sightings of bizarre 'UFO' are captured on video in Cornwall

Posted: July 19, 2017

A mysterious 'UFO' has been filmed several times in skies above Cornwall in recent days.

While some believe the shimmering, translucent, pulsating object is "some kind of craft", others believe it to be swarm of insects or birds - and it has even been suggested it could a publicity stunt for the new 'Journey into Space' attraction at the Eden Project.

Whatever it is, it has turned heads across the Duchy.

Over the last couple of days the strange black shape has been spotted over Truro city centre, Carluddon clay tip, Fistral beach in Newquay, over the A30, above Roche Rock and by a surfer above the sea off the Cornish coast, reports Cornwall Live.

The first to spot it was surfer Kiefer Krishnan, who caught it on his Go-Pro camera, which he posted on his Instagram account on Monday.

Photographer Shayne House spotted the weird object, which appears to disappear and rematerialise, over the A30, also on Monday. He filmed it for A30 and even managed a close-up. He declared on Twitter: "What the?! Is this an alien spacecraft over the A30?"

Harry Wild, who works in food marketing, was the next to upload footage of the unexplained object. She saw it over Fistral beach on Monday and asked on Twitter is anyone else had seen it. Many people commented it looked like a swarm of birds or insects.

There were three more sightings on Tuesday. The first was by Trudi, from Kent, who posted footage over Roche Rock, near St Austell, on Instagram. She wrote: "What on Earth is this in the sky? It looks like some kind of craft to me, has anyone else seen this?

Dan Goodwin took to Twitter when he captured footage of "this weirdness" at the clay tip near St Austell. His film was retweeted 78 times.

The final sighting, so far, was by a Steph – who goes by the name CocochicBlog – who caught the odd object on her phone above Truro while on the way to a hair appointment.

Cornwall Live approached various agencies about these sightings but no one has any answers.

The Eden Project launches its new Journey Into Space attraction on Thursday, July 27, prompting speculation the UFO could be a publicity stunt.

A spokesperson for Eden cryptically told Cornwall Live: "It's true we have a galaxy of ways to tell the story of space at Eden this summer. To coin a phrase … 'The truth is out there'."

GOOD MORNING CRYSTAL ~ CASEBOOK cool

The mainstream media involved in denying the validity of a photograph taken of a Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan on a dock at Japanese Navy-controlled Jaluit Atoll cite only one bogus claim for “debunking” that telltale evidence: That the photo is a page from a “book” published in “1935”, two years before Earhart’s disappearance.

Let me put it bluntly to Newsweek and other willingly gullible media outlets: Your absurd attempt to deny the History Channel’s evidence shows either that you are disreputable enough to accept an unreported payment from an agent of the Japanese Foreign Ministry or you just rose to the sucker bait without any qualms.

Next, for serious-minded individuals, Jeff Rense and I have completed the photo analysis that should dispel any lingering doubts. On either side of the Pacific Ocean, Rense and I examined the many details of the disputed dockside photograph. Jeff noticed that the small banner held up by Fred Noonan contained visual anomalies, which he assumed was a coded message.

Acting on his observation, I used software to enlarge the image, which revealed the outline of either a skull or a oddly shaped head with large eye sockets. Although disappointed that the banner did not contain an SOS message in writing, the Rense crew did a precision image analysis, which revealed it to be a painting of an four-legged animal, which they could not readily identify.

Examining their enhancement, I recognized the creature to be a baby-sized Kirin (Qilin in Manchurian and Mandarin), a mythical creature of the shamanic cultures of Manchuria, Korea and Siberia, and also Japan. In China, this animal is more of a chimera composed of features of a dragon, eagle and lion, but for the Far Eastern and Arctic cultures, the kirin is primarily based on a large deer, much like the sacred reindeer portrayed in Hayao Mizazaki’s anime “Mononoke Hime” (Princess of the Wild Creatures).

Why would an artistic individual on the Marshall Islands give this painting to Noonan? For one thing, a kirin walks on the clouds and the image would therefore identify Noonan and his companion as pilots or “cloud walkers”. The Kirin beer logo depicts a kirin with wings, and from a brewery established in 1888 that brew was the most established brand in the Japanese colonies. The creature is associated with flying.

Then, after giving this puzzle some thought during a night of thunderstorms, the solution dawned on me. The kirin walks in the heavens, the sky, but which of the five basic elements in the Asian tradition is the sky made of? It’s Wind, or Air.

What, essentially, is a kirin? A reindeer, a deer, a hart.

The visual language is absolutely clear: Air Hart, the pronunciation of Earhart.

The kirin that Fred Noonan is holding aloft at Jaluit means:
Air Hart. Earhart is here.

EM Drive Approaches Reality

After months of speculation and leaked documents, NASA’s long-awaited EM Drive paper has finally been peer-reviewed and published. And it shows that the ‘impossible’ propulsion system really does appear to work. The NASA Eagleworks Laboratory team even put forward a hypothesis for how the EM Drive could produce thrust – something that seems impossible according to our current understanding of the laws of physics.

The EM Drive, or Electromagnetic Drive, is a propulsion system first proposed by British inventor Roger Shawyer back in 1999. Instead of using heavy, inefficient rocket fuel, it bounces microwaves back and forth inside a cone-shaped metal cavity to generate thrust. According to Shawyer’s calculations, the EM Drive could be so efficient that it could power us to Mars in just 70 days.

But, there’s a not-small problem with the system. It defies Newton’s third law, which states that everything must have an equal and opposite reaction. According to the law, for a system to produce thrust, it has to push something out the other way. The EM Drive doesn’t do this. Yet in test after test it continues to work Laboratory team got their hands on an EM Drive to try to figure out once and for all what was going on. And now we finally have those results.

The new paper is titled “Measurement of Impulsive Thrust from a Closed Radio-Frequency Cavity in Vacuum“, published online in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)’s Journal of Propulsion and Power. Thrust data from forward, reverse, and null suggested that the system was consistently performing at 1.2 ± 0.1 mN/kW. It’s likely that the EM Drive can get a lot more efficient.

“The supporting physics model used to derive a force based on operating conditions in the test article can be categorized as a nonlocal hidden-variable theory, or pilot-wave theory for short.”But in recent years, the pilot-wave theory has been increasing in popularity, and the NASA team suggests that it could help explain how the EM Drive produces thrust without appearing to propel anything in the other direction. “If a medium is capable of supporting acoustic oscillations, this means that the internal constituents were capable of interacting and exchanging momentum,” “If the vacuum is indeed mutable and degradable as was explored, then it might be possible to do/extract work on/from the vacuum, and thereby be possible to push off of the quantum vacuum and preserve the laws of conservation of energy and conservation of momentum.” The next step for the EM Drive is for it to be tested in space, which is scheduled to happen in the coming months. If it produces thrust there, the scientific community will need to sit up and take note.

ABSTRACT
A vacuum test campaign evaluating the impulsive thrust performance of a tapered radio-frequency test article excited in the transverse magnitude 212 mode at 1937 MHz has been completed. The test campaign consisted of a forward thrust phase and reverse thrust phase at less than 8×10−6  torr.

I. Introduction

It was previously reported that radio-frequency (RF) resonant cavities generated anomalous thrust on a low-thrust torsion pendulum [1,2] in spite of the apparent lack of a propellant or other medium with which to exchange momentum. It is shown here that a dielectrically loaded, tapered RF test article excited in the transverse magnetic 212 (TM212) mode (see Fig. 1) at 1937 MHz is capable of consistently generating force at a thrust-to-power level of 1.2±0.1  mN/kW

Read more, much more: https://arc.aiaa.org/doi/10.2514/1.B36120

III. Conclusions
A vacuum test campaign that used an updated integrated test article and optimized torsion pendulum layout was completed. The test campaign consisted of a forward thrust element that included performing testing at ambient pressure to establish and confirm good tuning, as well as subsequent power scans at 40, 60, and 80 W, with three thrust runs performed at each power setting for a total of nine runs at vacuum. The test campaign consisted of a reverse thrust element that mirrored the forward thrust element. The test campaign included a null thrust test effort of three tests performed at vacuum at 80 W to try and identify any mundane sources of impulsive thrust; none were identified. Thrust data from forward, reverse, and null suggested that the system was consistently performing at 1.2±0.1  mN/kW.

Quote from article :

"With all of these elements in consideration, Mr. Musk is urging caution regarding public expectation for Falcon Heavy’s first flight, saying that there is a “real good chance that the first vehicle [won’t] make it to orbit. So I want to make sure to set expectations accordingly.”

Even more telling was how Musk continued on this point, stating that he hoped Falcon Heavy makes it far enough away from LC-39A before failing so the pad will escape significant damage.

“I hope it makes it far enough away from the pad that it’s not going to cause damage. I would consider that a win, honestly,” said Mr. Musk."

Rare 2,700-year-old Assyrian-era reservoir unearthed in central Israel

ByDaniel K. Eisenbud
July 20, 2017 16:00

Walls engraved with human figures, crosses and vegetable motif

A well-preserved 2,700-year-old reservoir from the Assyrian period was recently unearthed near the central city of Rosh HaAyin by archeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority, the IAA announced Thursday.

The excavation was carried out with the aid of students studying archeology prior to the groundbreaking of a new residential neighborhood adjacent to the site initiated by the Construction and Housing Ministry.

According to Gilad Itach, director of excavations for the Authority, the ancient reservoir – which had numerous engravings on its walls – was critical to the survival of local inhabitants living in the region during protracted dry seasons.

“It is difficult not to be impressed by the sight of the immense underground reservoir quarried out so many years ago,” said Itach. “In antiquity, rainwater collection and storage was a fundamental necessity. With an annual rainfall of 500 mm., the region’s winter rains would easily have filled the huge reservoir.”

Itach continued: “On its walls, near the entrance, we identified engravings of human figures, crosses, and a vegetable motif that were probably carved by passersby in a later period. Overall, we identified seven figures measuring 15-30 cm. Most have outstretched arms, and a few appear to be holding some kind of object.”

The reservoir, he said, is nearly 20-miles-long, and reaches a depth of over 4 miles.

“The excavations reveal that the reservoir was built beneath a large structure with walls that are all nearly 50 m. long,” Itach explained.

“Some of the potsherds found on the floors of the rooms probably belonged to vessels used to draw water from the reservoir. It is highly likely that the structure and the reservoir were built at the end of the Iron Age [late 8th or early 7th century BCE], but whereas the building was abandoned during the Persian period, the reservoir was still in use until modern times.”

In recent years, several other farmsteads built at the end of the First Temple Period have been discovered near Rosh HaAyin.

“They were probably erected after the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel in 720 BCE, when the Assyrian empire dominated the region,” said Itach.

“The establishment of farmhouses in this area is interesting, given the fact that many regions within the decimated Kingdom of Israel remained desolate. Some scholars believe that the establishment of the farmsteads was motivated by the empire’s wish to settle the area, which lay on an international route and near the western border of the Assyrian empire.”

Itach noted that the structure exposed in the excavation is different from most of the previously discovered farmsteads.

“Its orderly plan, vast area, strong walls, and the impressive water reservoir hewn beneath it suggest that the site was administrative in nature, and it may well have controlled the surrounding farmsteads,” he opined.

High school students studying the Education Ministry’s Land of Israel and Archaeology curriculum participated as part of the ministry’s and IAA’s new educational program, designed to connect pupils with the past, and train the archaeologists of tomorrow.

Students opting for this track as part of their chosen matriculation assessment join an excavation for one week and undertake various tasks involved in the excavation, discuss the research questions and archaeological considerations, and document the dig in an excavation journal.

Working in coordination with the Construction and Housing Ministry and Rosh HaAyin Municipality, the IAA plans to make the site, located adjacent to the residential neighborhood being built, accessible to the public.

I went to Mozilla; they said I had the latest version, so I refreshed it. It didn't help. Must be my weak computer. I think Conforums has changed/increased their ads. Plus, Firefox is not good at dealing with Adobe Flash player. I can't afford to pay for "No Ads". Think I may have to leave Conforums sites unless or until I get a new computer. Sigh.....
