Assange Warns About Vegas Shooting: ‘Almost All Terror Plots are Created by the FBI’

http://thefreethoughtproject.com/assange-las-vegas-shooting-fbi-terrorism/

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange weighed in on last Sunday night’s deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas, and he pointed out that the FBI has a sordid history of targeting mentally ill and emotionally unstable individuals.

“Almost all ‘terror’ plots are created by the FBI as part of its business model,” Assange wrote.

User Image

Arguably one of the world’s most respected journalists, whom members of the federal government want to label a spy, Assange linked his comments to a Business Insider story written by Caroline Simone titled, “The FBI is ‘manufacturing terrorism cases’ on a greater scale than ever before.” Simone wrote an echo piece from the New York Times which indicated that 67% of terrorism criminal cases also involved evidence provided by undercover FBI agents.

Simone wrote an echo piece for the New York Times, which indicated that 67 percent of terrorism criminal cases also involved evidence provided by undercover FBI agent.

“How the FBI Created a Terrorist.” That’s the subtitle of a new exposé in The Intercept by Trevor Aaronson, a journalist who investigates the FBI’s use of informants in sting operations. The article tells the story of Sami Osmakac, a mentally disturbed, financially unstable young man who was targeted by an elaborately orchestrated FBI sting in early 2012. The operation involved a paid informant who hired Osmakac for a job, when he was too broke to afford inert government weapons. The FBI provided the weapons seen in a so-called martyrdom video Osmakac filmed before he planned to deliver what he believed was a car bomb to a bar in Tampa, Florida. His family believes Osmakac never would have initiated such a plot without the FBI.
The New York Times‘ Eric Lichtblau wrote:

“They’re manufacturing terrorism cases,” said Michael German, a former undercover agent with the F.B.I. who researches national security law at New York University’s Brennan Center for Justice. In many of the recent prosecutions, he said, “these people are five steps away from being a danger to the United States.

Ironically enough, Fox News’ Judge Napolitano agrees. He addressed the FBI’s controversial practice of latching on to emotionally unstable individuals, befriending them, giving them a terror plot to conduct, empowering them to conduct it, and giving them the final pushes needed to carry out those terror plots.

User Image

Napolitano accurately reported that all of the attempted terror plots the FBI has interrupted, were, in his words, “created by the Feds.” In other words, they manufacture a terror plot, locate a willing participant to be characterized as the bad guy “terrorist,” and then foil the plot just as it is about to be carried out.

But Napolitano calls the “more curious cases,” the ones who the FBI groomed, empowered and unsurprisingly nabbed just before they carried out their attacks. The judge charges the FBI “befriended, cajoled, and persuaded them” to attack Americans. Doesn’t that make them a State-sponsor of terrorism, albeit foiled terrorism?

Unfortunately, there is inherent risk involved with arming potential terrorists for a FBI-sponsored terror sting. Sometimes those plots don’t go as plan and there is always a potential for the bad actor to actually be successful with going through with the terrorist attack.

Astroturfers Behind the Global Warming Scare

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/11/24/delingpole-exposed-the-liberal-astroturfers-behind-the-global-warming-scare/

This is the only logical conclusion to be drawn from a series of data leaks and Freedom of Information (FOI) revelations exposing the relationship between left wing campaigners and the great climate change scam.

User Image

Global warming, it becomes clear, is primarily a left-wing political issue, not a scientific one. Green is the new red.

These leaks show how rich liberal backers—left-wing institutions like the Rockefeller Foundation, eco hedge-fund billionaires like Tom Steyer, and the various socialistic Geek Emperors of Silicon Valley—are funneling millions of dollars into sock-puppet environmental organizations both to undermine Trump’s economic agenda and to finance his political opponents both in the Democratic Party and the GOP.

IRAN has issued a chilling threat to Europe – warning it will increase its missile range so rockets can be launched at the continent.

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/world-news/662704/iran-europe-missile-threat-iranian-revolutionary-guard-ww3-world-war-3

The deputy head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned that it may increase the range of missiles to over 2,000 km – enough to strike Europe.

Brigadier General Hossein Salami said: "If we have kept the range of our missiles to 2000 kilometres, it's not due to lack of technology – we are following a strategic doctrine.

"So far we have felt that Europe is not a threat, so we did not increase the range of our missiles.

"But if Europe wants to turn into a threat, we will increase the range of our missiles."

User Image

Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, of the Revolutionary Guards, said last month that Iran's 2,000-km missile range could already cover "most of American interest and forces" within the region.

Jafari said the ballistic missile range was based on the limits set by the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is the head of armed forces.

The country has one of the Middle East's largest missile programmes, including precision-guided missiles that could strike Israel.

Most recently, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which relies on the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside Iran, compiled a bombshell report showing Iran is developing weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).

The PMOI has been monitoring Iran’s nuclear program since 1991.

It has accused the regime of continuing to bolster its capabilities, including working on “various stages of enrichment, weaponisation, warheads, and delivery systems”.

The resistance has also said the Iranian military is hiding the country’s program in a bid to trick weapons inspectors.

Old, meet new: Drones, high-tech camera revamp archaeology

By michael casey, associated press
ENFIELD, N.H. — Nov 24, 2017, 10:18 AM ET

Scanning an empty field that once housed a Shaker village in New Hampshire, Jesse Casana had come in search of the foundations of stone buildings, long-forgotten roadways and other remnants of this community dating to the 1790s.

But instead of a trowel and shovel, Casana and his Dartmouth College colleague Chad Hill are using a drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera and mapping instruments. The camera can identify remnants of buildings and other structures up to several feet below the surface, since the temperatures of that brick or stone material is often warmer than the soil around it. And by using the drone, the researchers can survey an area in minutes that might take months with traditional methods.

"If you look, you see a flat field but below it there are big stone walls. There are cellars. There is a big old well, all kinds of stuff you can't see on the ground," Casana said of a community that once housed nearly 100 buildings but was sold in the 1920s and is now an outdoor history museum. "Those things have different thermal properties. If you capture an image at the right moment, you can see it — which is amazing."

Archaeologists have for decades have used aerial photography and more recently satellite imagery and data from laser sensors known as Lidar to map and discover new sites. The field is further transforming with the emergence of cheap drones, resulting in several significant discoveries in Asia, South America and the Middle East, including a massive manmade stone platform spotted last year hidden under sand in the ancient city of Petra in Jordan.

Casana and Hill have taken the process a step further by adding a thermal imaging camera. They first began to experiment with the technology in 2012 after receiving a grant from the National Endowment For The Humanities.
In 2014, they used the drone and camera at an ancestral Pueblo settlement in Blue J, New Mexico. The researchers were able to find a dozen ancient house compounds and a circular structure that could be a kiva that was used for public events and ceremonies. They have found structures around an Islamic fort in Qatar and used the drone and camera in October to identify a circular structure at a prehistoric site connected to Native Americans near Joliet, Illinois.

So far, Casana said, the camera technology has proved a success at arid locations without a lot of vegetation and where the structures are near the surface. It has been more challenging or nearly useless at locations with forest cover or, in the case of Cyprus, where there wasn't a big difference in temperature between the structures and the surrounding soil.

"It will enable you to prospect for features and see things you can't see with your eyes and that you often can't see with any other method over gigantic areas very quickly," he said, adding he plans to deploy the technology at sites in Iraq, Mexico and Hawaii. "I would say it could be potentially game-changing if people would adopt it."

Mark Schurr, a University of Notre Dame anthropology professor who is co-directing the Illinois dig with his colleague Madeleine McLeester, said he was optimistic Casana's discovery would offer clues into a society that lived here as far back as 17th century before the French arrived.

The site is now home to the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, the only federal prairie reserve east of the Mississippi. Researchers are hoping to better understand things like trade networks, agriculture practices and their involvement in warfare.

"Every time we get a new imaging technique that does not include excavation — which is expensive and destructive— it's always a plus. It allows us to see new things," Schurr said.

But Plymouth State University's David Starbuck, who is leading the dig at the Enfield Shaker Village, was more cautious. He argued the technology could be good for historical sites but questioned whether it could be much benefit for prehistoric sites that go much further back and lack markers like foundations.

"With Jesse's work in a place like Enfield Shaker Village where on one side of the highway there, they have lots and lots of buildings that were removed, drones and cameras should be able to pick out just where those foundations used to be," he said. "If his techniques can take us directly to where the buried foundations are, your crew is a going to be a whole lot happier."

Amaru Muru (or Aramu Muru) is a massive false doorway next to Lake Titicaca close to the Bolivia Border. It has several names such as 'Doorway of the Serpent', the christian version 'The Devil's Doorway' and 'Gate of the Gods', amongst others. Andrew Collins, Brien Foerster, Hugh Newman and Gustavo Morales investigate this energetic hotspot and traditions state that tunnels go from behind it to Copacabana and possibly Cuzco. Other stories say that it sometimes 'opens' and the people who go through it get turned to stone and embedded within the rock. The shape carved in it resembles the T-Pillars of Gobekli Tepe in Turkey which some researchers suggest is an energetic 'stargate' to other dimensions. Includes exclusive aerial footage.

Saudi vows new Islamic alliance 'will wipe terrorists from the earth'

https://www.yahoo.com/news/saudi-vows-islamic-alliance-wipe-terrorists-earth-140228852.html

Riyadh (AFP) - Saudi Arabia's crown prince vowed to "pursue terrorists until they are wiped from the face of the earth" as officials from 40 Muslim countries gathered Sunday in the first meeting of an Islamic counter-terrorism alliance.

"In past years, terrorism has been functioning in all of our countries... with no coordination" among national authorities, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is also Saudi defence minister, said in his keynote address to the gathering in Riyadh.

'Mad' Mike Hughes cancels rocket launch to prove Earth is flat

USA TODAY NETWORK

Published 2:09 p.m. ET Nov. 25, 2017

A man who believes Earth is flat, and was ready to launch himself from a rocket in California on Saturday afternoon to prove it, has canceled his plans. At least for now.

Not having the required federal permits plus mechanical problems with his "motorhome/rocket launcher" forced self-taught rocket scientist "Mad" Mike Hughes to put his experiment on hold.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "told me they would not allow me to do the event ... at least not at that location," Hughes said in a YouTube announcement, amid international attention over his plans to launch into the 'atmosflat.'

"It's been very disappointing," he said.

Hughes is a 61-year-old limo driver who has spent the last few years building a steam-powered rocket out of salvage parts in his garage. His project has cost him $20,000, which includes Rust-Oleum paint to fancy it up and a motor home he bought on Craigslist that he converted into a ramp.

Hughes was set to launch his rocket between 2 and 3 p.m.on Saturday.

Plans had been in the works for more than a year and Hughes said he was initially told by BLM "that it was up to the (Federal Aviation Administration)" to approve the launch. The FAA, Hughes said, told him "We can't honestly approve it, we just know that you are going to do it there."

News of his plans began to spread Monday and gained worldwide attention, which Hughes believes is why BLM began to push for permits.

"My feeling is that one of the top executives at the Bureau of Land Management called Needles, California, saying ... 'What's going on? Who permitted this?'" Hughes said.

Plus, as he and his team were preparing to leave Wednesday, the motorhome/rocket launcher broke down in his driveway, he said.

"We want everyone to please stay tuned," Hughes said, adding he has set up a YouTube page where he will post updates. His plan is to try again next week.

Eleventh Hour, Sony Team for UFO Drama ‘Rendlesham’

Rendlesham UFO incidents have been dubbed 'Britain's Roswell'

By Stewart Clarke @varietystewart
November 27, 2017 1:00AM

A series of real-life reported UFO sightings in Britain near an air base used by the U.S. Air Force will be the basis of a new drama series, “Rendlesham.”

London-based producer Eleventh Hour Film will make the series and Sony’s international TV production arm has come on board. The studio is backing the development of the project and will handle international distribution. There is not yet a broadcaster or platform attached.

Joe Ahearne (“Doctor Who”) will helm the show, which will recount the claimed UFO landings near the air base and Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, England, in the 1980s.

A complex family drama will form the backdrop to the series, which will also fast-forward from the height of the Cold War to 2020, the 40th anniversary of the incidents, which are fabled among UFO enthusiasts and have been dubbed “Britain’s Roswell.”

Ahearne said: “When Eleventh Hour Films drew my attention to this extraordinary piece of British and American history it pressed all my buttons, and I think it will do the same for a wide audience.”
Eve Gutierrez and Jill Green will executive produce for “Collision” and “Safe House” producer Eleventh Hour Films.

“Joe is a master storyteller with a long-standing fascination for science fiction,” Gutierrez said. “Now working with Sony Pictures Television we are looking forward to bringing this timely, other-worldly story to the global market.”

Science Alert

Turtles Breathe Through Their Butts to Survive in Frozen Ponds

But... how?

JACQUELINE LITZGUS
27 NOV 2017

To breathe or not to breathe, that is the question. What would happen if you were submerged in a pond where the water temperature hovered just above freezing and the surface was capped by a lid of ice for 100 days?

Well, obviously you'd die. And that's because you're not as cool as a turtle. And by cool I don't just mean amazing, I mean literally cool, as in cold. Plus, you can't breathe through your butt. But turtles can, which is just one of the many reasons that turtles are truly awesome.

Cold weather slow down

As an ectotherm - an animal that relies on an external source of heat - a turtle's body temperature tracks that of its environment. If the pond water is 1°C (33.8°F), so is the turtle's body.

But turtles have lungs and they breathe air. So, how is it possible for them to survive in a frigid pond with a lid of ice that prevents them from coming up for air? The answer lies in the relationship between body temperature and metabolism.

A cold turtle in cold water has a slow metabolism. The colder it gets, the slower its metabolism, which translates into lower energy and oxygen demands.

When turtles hibernate, they rely on stored energy and uptake oxygen from the pond water by moving it across body surfaces that are flush with blood vessels.

In this way, they can get enough oxygen to support their minimal needs without using their lungs. Turtles have one area that is especially well vascularised - their butts.

See, I wasn't kidding, turtles really can breathe through their butts. (The technical term is cloacal respiration.)

Not frozen, just cold

We are not turtles. We are endotherms - expensive metabolic heat furnaces - that need to constantly fuel our bodies with food to generate body heat and maintain a constant temperature to stay alive and well.

When it's cold out, we pile on clothes to trap metabolic heat and stay warm. We could never pick up enough oxygen across our vascularised surfaces, other than our lungs, to supply the high demand of our metabolic furnaces.

For humans, a change in body temperature is a sign of illness, that something is wrong. When a turtle's body temperature changes, it's simply because the environment has become warmer or colder.

But even ectotherms have their limits. With very few exceptions (e.g., box turtles), adult turtles cannot survive freezing temperatures; they cannot survive having ice crystals in their bodies.

This is why freshwater turtles hibernate in water, where their body temperatures remain relatively stable and will not go below freezing.

Water acts as a temperature buffer; it has a high specific heat, which means it takes a lot of energy to change water temperature. Pond water temperatures remain quite stable over the winter and an ectotherm sitting in that water will have a similarly stable body temperature.

Air, on the other hand, has a low specific heat so its temperature fluctuates, and gets too cold for turtle survival.

Crampy muscles

An ice-covered pond presents two problems for turtles: they can't surface to take a breath, and little new oxygen gets into the water.

On top of that, there are other critters in the pond consuming the oxygen that was produced by aquatic plants during the summer.

Over the winter, as the oxygen is used up, the pond becomes hypoxic (low oxygen content) or anoxic (depleted of oxygen). Some turtles can handle water with low oxygen content - others cannot.

Snapping turtles and painted turtles tolerate this stressful situation by switching their metabolism to one that doesn't require oxygen.

This ability is amazing, but can be dangerous, even lethal, if it goes on for too long, because acids build up in their tissues as a result of this metabolic switch.

But how long is "too long"? Both snapping turtles and painted turtles can survive forced submergence at cold water temperatures in the lab for well over 100 days.

Painted turtles are the kings of anoxia-tolerance. They mobilize calcium from their shells to neutralize the acid, in much the same way we take calcium-containing antacids for heartburn.

In the spring, when anaerobic turtles emerge from hibernation, they are basically one big muscle cramp. It's like when you go for a hard run - your body switches to anaerobic metabolism, lactic acid builds up and you get a cramp.

The turtles are desperate to bask in the sun to increase their body temperature, to fire up their metabolism and eliminate these acidic by-products.

And it's hard to move when they're that crampy, making them vulnerable to predators and other hazards. Spring emergence can be a dangerous time for these lethargic turtles.

Cold weather turtle tracking

Field biologists tend to do their research during the spring and summer, when animals are most active. But in Ontario, where the winters are long, many turtle species are inactive for half of their lives.

Understanding what they do and need during winter is essential to their conservation and habitat protection, especially given that two-thirds of turtle species are at risk of extinction.

My research group has monitored several species of freshwater turtles during their hibernation. We attach tiny devices to the turtles' shells that measure temperature and allow us to follow them under the ice.

We've found that all species choose to hibernate in wetland locations that hover just above freezing, that they move around under the ice, hibernate in groups and return to the same places winter after winter.

Despite all this work, we still know so little about this part of turtles' lives.

So, I do what any committed biologist would do: I send my students out to do field research at –25°C (–13°F). We are not restricted to fair-weather biology here.

Besides, there is unparalleled beauty in a Canadian winter landscape, especially when you envision all of those awesome turtles beneath the ice, breathing through their butts.
