Positron,

Ok, I'll play along a little longer.

...ask a specific question, then...

The question is..

Why does every scientist involved with Moon exploration say that it has no atmosphere ?

Wu, I'm not overly worried about the fullness of decks in play, because many of today's commonplace accepted ideas, like Earth rotating our Sun, or Life, Evolution and the entire Universe existing without God's miraculous intervention, not to speak of Quantum particle theories, a mere century ago would have been extraordinary ideas, suggesting the work of aberrant minds to contemporary established science.

Simply, science often may only advance by radically, even shockingly new ideas imo.

So: I seen no problem in submitting Positron's alternative Moon-hypothesis to our forum. Defending extraordinary ideas requires extra effort of course by its proponent(s). Especially with many members asking critical questions or expressing various degrees of (understandable!) disbelief!

Uh... could the Moon have very unexpected properties, including secret (alien, US, Nazi smiley) bases, an atmosphere and/or hidden life? However seemingly proposterous: yes, if players with nation state resources intentionally deceived the world about it. Costly. But COULD BE DONE imho.

I'm having problems with this logic. Just because some players have the capability to deceive the world about "something" does not in itself prove the existence of that "something". The "something" needs to be demonstrated first then one can move on to the players.

It may fall into the Affirming the Consequent logical fallacy:

1. If A, then B
2. B
3. Therefore A

But darn, there's that pesky "COULD BE" loophole! laugh

...posting this between massage and a facial.....

HAL, Wu and Ed, if I were any more relaxed you'd need to gather me in a basket, no rest homes or vacations necessary, nor have I engaged in a logical fallacy. (Although something tells me it's going to be a long and tiring year...)

It's member Positron's thesis/position, and for him to argue its merits to the best of his ability. I am only responding to his claim spontaneously, and indeed I see some points of light. GhostofEd, I totally agree with you (as I do throughout this thread) this theory has not been 'proven'.

So when I say IT COULD BE DONE (referring both to Positron's Moon conspiracy containing realistic elements and to the US possessing the capability to hide it from the public) I'm offering my personal opinion concerning a probability.

User Image
I dare you guys to carefully consider extraordinary ideas, yet move within the boundaries of logical reasoning.

Stanton Friedman, based on his experiences in government service, effectively argued that the United States has demonstrated such capability. Think of decades developing stealth aircraft. Electronic surveillance ditto (until Snowden!). Keeping the American and world public in the dark.

Theoretically UFO/Alien/secret space program information could be kept hidden forever. Or, by similar accidents of history there might be an alien info 'discloser', or an UFO incident so big it will defy debunking or spin or massive cover up. What I just said may require you to stretch your imagination, without going out of logical bounds.

Again, when you think about it.. It's preposterous. Yet POSSIBLE....

I'd recommend that the word PROBABLE start being substituted for POSSIBLE in many of the things discussed here. POSSIBLE is dead ended where a decision has to be made e.g. get off the crapper. We live our day to day lives and function based more on the probable not the possible. I wonder which strategy: POSSIBLE or PROBABLE based decisions is ultimately the best way?

Purr,

...(Although something tells me it's going to be a long and tiring year...)

It's member Positron's thesis/position, and for him to argue its merits to the best of his ability.
..

The honorable member has no interest in arguing his case.

In fact he has no case to argue.

He is only here, once again, to annoy us. And he knows it.

We try to be civil and to elicit information that would maybe support his statements. And the response is ...

..INT21, i leave you to figure that one yourself. ..

And a couple of links to YouTube. Hardly the source of all scientific knowledge; tho' maybe the source of his.

So, the best thing to do to ensure that new ideas have room to grow is to cut out the dead wood
.

Mods, time to press the kill button.

Sorry, Positron, but you know it is for the greater good,

I suppose it would be possible to park Positron away in a corner and built a wall of silence around him. Sort of thing you do with the ride - on lawn mower in the winter.

And then dissect his hypotheses in greater detail.

But where would be the point in that ?

It falls at the first hurdle (no offense, Ed) with the claim of an atmosphere on the Moon.

The rest is just standard conspiracy stuff.

You are so full of hate it is sad. I know you want me to respond in your manners, but no, i won't feed the troll. You are obviously scientifically illiterate, so your main question is "how come all those big scientists say there is no atmosphere on the moon?". Reasons for official denial of real conditions of the moon and ET presence in general have been mentioned countless times and no need to reiterate things like losing control over populus, collapse of dogmatic religions, economic breakdown etc, more-less the things happening right now.
