You probably donít remember the big (social justice even though at that time it wasnít called social justice ( but it went something like this, if we can go to the moon, we can wipe out poverty in America) this became a mantra for the liberal media. (then they cut the budget for space rograms)But little did anyone promote the fact that drugs, heroin, cocaine, long before OxyContin and methamphetamine, would take control of the country and now itís an epidemic and the liberals donít give a ship as long as you can vote for Democrat. It's a sad situation, and itís the elephant in the room, but itís the truth and the sooner America wakes up to this but thatíll never happen. The only hope on the horizon is possibly Trump.

Although I was barely over 2 years old, I remember that black and white t.v. being taller than me. I remember this day like it was yesterday.....my dad made sure that I paid close attention to it.

Btw....I'm all for Trump.... I think he's the best candidate we have. Reagan was amazing....hopefully he will be at least half as great as he was.

Dec. 8, 2016

"With John's passing, our nation has lost an icon and Michelle and I have lost a friend. John spent his life breaking barriers, from defending our freedom as a decorated Marine Corps fighter pilot in World War II and Korea, to setting a transcontinental speed record, to becoming, at age 77, the oldest human to touch the stars."

-- President Barack Obama

"Any minute spent with John Glenn was a blessing. Because for all his heroism that history will rememberóin war, in space, in public lifeóyou felt something deeper. You felt his capacity to loveóthe country he inspired, the people of Ohio he served."

-- Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden

"Senator Glenn's legacy is one of risk and accomplishment, of history created and duty to country carried out under great pressure with the whole world watching. The entire NASA Family will be forever grateful for his outstanding service, commitment and friendship."

-- NASA Administrator Charles Bolden

"When he launched aboard the space shuttle in 1998, his courage and age-defying challenge to experience longer-duration microgravity inspired an entirely new generation, and I was incredibly proud to be a member of the scientific research team that was honored to work with astronaut Glenn."

-- NASA Deputy Administrator Dava Newman

"John epitomized what it was to be a Marine, a pilot, and an astronaut, and he was one of my heroes."

-- Bob Cabana, former astronaut and director of NASA's Kennedy Space Center

"Our nation has lost a pioneer who contributed immensely to human space flight and inspired so many around the world when he became the first person to orbit Earth."

-- Ellen Ochoa, former astronaut and director of NASA's Johnson Space Center

"A good man has left Earth for the last time. John Glenn's life will long be remembered for his time in space, his courage and his service to all Americans."

-- Katherine Johnson, "human computer" who verified the mathematics behind Glenn's flight on Friendship 7

"He was humble, funny, and generous. Even after leaving public life, he loved to meet with citizens, school children in particular. He thrilled to music and had a weakness for chocolate. "

-- Trevor Brown, dean of the John Glenn School of Public Affairs, and the Glenn family

Hurricane forecasters will soon have a new tool to better understand and forecast storm intensity. A constellation of eight microsatellites, called NASAís Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System mission, or CYGNSS, got a boost into Earth orbit at 8:37 a.m. EST today, Dec. 15, aboard an Orbital ATK Pegasus XL rocket. The unique, air-launched vehicle was carried aloft by Orbitalís modified L-1011 aircraft, ďStargazer,Ē which took off from the Skid Strip runway at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida and deployed the three-stage Pegasus XL rocket at a predetermined drop point 39,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean and about 110 nautical miles east-northeast of Daytona Beach.
