So Mods, reguarding keeping UFO files easy to access. And the other stuff in it's place, can you guys move stuff around? I wish only reports and cases were in one section. Then after our research we can find titilating excitement out of the Archives. In chit chat. (Like you intended.) Please consider it. Ron

That's a tough call since many don't recognize where some things go or where to place it and it ends up in the wrong area too often. Such threads make their way to the second page fast enough as to not interupt. There are many threads I would like to move to another section but, that's just it, there are many. We just make due. Besides that, I don't think that the sections are defined properly and should be given greater definition for the viewer before they make a post.

Look at it this way, only a hand full of "Todays" are working on any given day. Think what it would be like if all sections lit up as "Todays" suddenly. This is the case for other forums that have multiple subjects other then UFO's.

Have you gone into the UFO Casebook's search engine yet. It makes the forum look like a post it note.

Ron have you gone to the main UFO casebook website. All of the info is there with no posting, so you can have the research at your fingertips.
Just click on the link on our main forum page.

And I would hope all those buried cases and reports will be placed in a "UFO Archive." In this archive only cases will be accepted, no replys. Then we really have the research at our fingertips. Story after story. Just one section. All breif cases. To help, I will rewrite my story in it when I see "Archive." Cigar, Saucer, Triangle, Other would be good to sort. Truly, Your doing a great job.........Ron

But they are expected to get buried and in time they are even thrown away on a forum. The back pages are dumped occasionally. Sightings are archived in the UFO Casebook website, not in the forum website. Your actual sighting is actually in the UFO Casebook website because it was a big deal when it happened and many witnessed it. So there are no sightings that ever disappear forever, it just isn't necessary to archive them in two sites by the same owner.

For that matter, my complaint and that of ufologists is the fact that sightings are being reported randomly to whatever website one choses. Unfortunately, that makes a mess of things and they should all be archived in one specific spot only (I feel). My choice for reporting to one specific sight would be that of NUFORC's because their site is the most organized in respect to sightings only. Furthermore, they are real carefull when it comes to hoaxs too. They just don't list a sighting and state when and where, they have the actual information from the one who sighted the UFO as well and it's all organized by date of sighting and really dialed in.

Even this website takes in reported sightings but then they just stay here and don't get recorded elsewhere unless another website picks the story up. See, that's the big mess there because like I said, there are multitudes of websites that record UFO sightings instead of one.

As well, reading story after story of sightings doesn't do anything for anyone but inform them, which is what forums do. Story after story has no assemblance of order as do ones such as NUFORC's.

The reason why these websites all take reported sightings is because they want the story first. That's all but that's selfish to everyone else interested.

I hope that NUFORC gets updated this week. Last update was Feb 24th. That is my only frustration with it, although I realize there are many things to list.
So during the weeks that NUFORC doesn't have anything new listed, I look around everywhere reading what new might have been put up.
I go in frequently to have a look to check for any sightings in my region.

Usually they are never this far behind in typing those things but I think they got a bit over burdened from the Peter Jennings show. Many people have reported sightings from previous years after that show. I've seen it in the numbers that I had versus what is now there for previous years.

It's almost a one-man show there so he's just behind temporarily. I'm sure he'll catch up. Plus, he's dealing right now with the some 50 hoaxes from last week out of the Ontario Canada area.

That takes up a lot of wasted time cleaning them out.

Yes, welcome. And thanks Jack for your honest reply. I understand now, and I like to talk about UFOs and other strange stuff just as much as reading case files. I think we have a nice balance here. Ron

At the following url are over 30,000 sightings from the years 1860 to February 2005 - all nice, neat and organized by sighting date - the way it should be, which is why I say NUFORC should be the ONLY place sightings are reported. After that, those sightings could fly around other websites all day long.
