Hello everyone, I am FormerSkeptic. I am calling myself this on the forums because that is what I am; a former skeptic.

Now, I am a believer; not that I didn't believe UFO's were possible prior to my change of opinion, just that I lacked solid proof.

That changed earlier this year when I witnessed (and reported to NUFORC) my own UFO.
Prior to this I was a fence sitter as I viewed all the available evidence with the opinion that anything that wasn't first hand needed to be carefully examined to prevent error in any decision.

Some background on me may help explain why I needed better evidence.

I am and was a Military dependent during the 60's and 70's, followed by a military career which saw me trained as a radar specialist and cleared for intelligence matters as well as operational skills in the U.S.Navy.

I was trained to thoroughly collect, analyze, synthesize, and disseminate facts so that the mission could be achieved. This was all done in real time and used many forms of electronic surveillance.

With training and duties like this matched up with a temperament that was ideally suited to questioning available data to find the facts of any situation I was destined to become a skeptic on the existence of UFO's.

Photos, films, and interviews can all be hoaxed or faked. People with agendas can create seemingly perfect "evidence" to support claims and we need to admit that many of the hoaxers are also suffering from profound mental health issues.

Even with logic fully supporting the fact that there is intelligent life on other planets, this does not prove that alien life exists.

In my case a 2-3 minute viewing of a disk shaped, silvery colored object maneuvering easily despite known laws of physics and biology was all the evidence I needed to lose my status as a skeptic and firmly place myself in the camp of "believers".

Understand that I was raised around military aviation facilities, was trained to actually FLY high performance jet fighter aircraft remotely, and was instructed on aircraft abilities and behavior in flight. This means that my knowledge of air flight overcame any reluctance to proclaim what I saw as a genuine extra-terrestrial air vessel or UFO.

I have tried my best to keep my knowledge of the defense industry current over they years and know of no aircraft in the current or future global inventory capable of hovering at an altitude over 30,000 feet with no rotary blade system. Jet aircraft may briefly achieve a form of "hovering" but it is limited to lower elevations and for only a matter of seconds.

That doesn't leave too many options for what it was I saw and the logical pathway of choosing the best match for the evidence regardless of outcome means that I saw an alien aircraft.

This doesn't mean that I am going to jump in and start believing 100% of the reports and photos/films. I am still going to view the evidence carefully and look for obvious hoaxes and poorly supported evidence.

But it does mean that I can and will admit that the government MUST know and has and is hiding what they know from us.

And this can not be a good thing.

Tell me what you think.

I think you are a welcome addition here. In my humble opinion on the subject, there needs to be much more analytical thinking applied and less kool-aid consumed. Welcome and happy to have you among us.

I am David Barclay who just happened to be passing through and decided to join this group, an interesting foum for sure.

My friend Jim and I have a web site at http://gravitycontrol.org and I have a blog at http://gravityc-idealism.blogspot.com which deals with you guessed it, gravity and a lot of other interesting issues all of which are related to UFO.

We all have much in common, we are looking for answers. And unfortunately our traditional science is not very helpful, including electrogravitics.

I look forward to spending many hours on your site, during the long winter nights.

hello everyone,

I've always been interested in UFO stories. My favourites include:

1. Larry Warren's report on the Rendlesham forest incident.

2. PC Alan Godfrey's abduction, England.

3. Abduction of car driver and passenger, Bonybrigg, Falkirk.

4. The Travis Walton abduction.

5. Strange fireball sighted by Hugh Edwards and other witnesses in Wales.

6. Bob Lazaar's story.

I'd like to jump in here and welcome all of our new friends! Having just returned to this site in the last few weeks after a long absence, I can promise you some fascinating discussions. Although the bigger response to the UFO question is "we are not alone", the important one here is "YOU are not alone".

If you get the chance, please check the "Why are We Together - Here, Now" thread and take the poll. There is a reason that we're all connecting at this point and time, I feel that understanding this is critical to moving forward.

Hope you all had a great holiday!

Welcome, Arion
