Welcome to casebook scottboss64. I don't know much about Michigan, however you can check for sighting reports on this site as well as nuforc.org.
I hope you will enjoy your stay with us and make lots of friends with common interests here. I have found my best online friends here on casebook, and forums run by casebook members.....the people here are simply the very best!

Hello,
My Name Is Grampa Squirrel.
I am from the city of Chicago and I live right over by Midway Airport in the city itself.
I may not get to see too many UFOs, because I am right under the guide-path of where all the Southwest Robins Airplanes as they land or takeoff on the runway heading southwest.

I am a believer of UFOs and Aliens, but I usually hear second or third hand stories most of the time, but however I used to see UFOs whenever I get a chance to get away from the city and go out into the open country. And it is not often that I do go out to open land!
I’m mostly stuck in the crowded city, because I have no way of getting out into the open.
I never own or driven a car in my life. I only rely on public transportation.

I like anything the deals with UFO’s Aliens and Ghosts Haunting, I was always been fascinated of the unknown since I was a kid back in 1968. Especially when my own grandmother would tell us her own ghost stories of the past when she was growing up.

My brother has a bunch of wild stories to tell, he is nuts about Ghosts, Aliens & UFOs.
He can tell you stories that would drive you to drinks with your Hot Rod Lincoln!

As for me, I’ve seen a few in my lifetime, but my stories may not so very interesting as my grandmother and my brother, but I sure know of a lot of second and third hand stories that I hear mostly every other week or so.

Very nice to meet you Elephant! And such an interesting history. As I was reading your story, the book I am reading was running through my mind....The Way of the Peaceful Warrior. I was thinking "warrior in training." You may call those jobs menial, but I bet you learned so much from the people and circumstances you were given the opportunity to experience each day. All a continuation of the training in life. The job you do now gives you great opportunity to be both sage and student.
I am very pleased to meet you and hope you will truly enjoy each visit to casebook. smiley

Just found this part of the site. Wasn’t aware that there was an intro area. In any case, to introduce myself.

I’m 50 years old. I’m a Purchasing Manager for a Vitamins & Supplements company. 40 yrs ago, my uncle gave me 2 huge boxes of science fiction books. Asimov, Heinlein, L.Sprague de Camp, Simak, Brunner…all of the old masters. There were a lot of the old double novels…you know…the ones that were one novel or novella on one side, then you flipped the paperback over and started an entirely new book by a different author. I was 10 yrs old. I read through those boxes of books over the next year. Reading one after another. I was hooked.

I think that a love of Science Fiction opens ones mind to other possibilities. I remember reading a piece by Carl Sagan some years ago, where he was saying there are more planets in the universe than there are grains of sand on every beach on planet earth. Pretty thought provoking statement. Sagan was trying to quantify infinity in laymans’ terms. Infinity is a tough concept for a lot of people to grasp. Especially as we sit on lil’ ol Planet Earth way out here on the edge of the Milky Way.

I can’t say with any certainty what is out there. In a world full of UFO / Alien hoaxes and with the technology to create even more convincing hoaxes becoming more readily available…I can no longer say what is real or not.

But I can and will remain forever…a Hopeful Skeptic.

So nice to meet you too Raf. Being a hopeful skeptic is not so bad at all. I agree that what we are exposed to when we are young affects how open our mind will be as we grow up. Some people do not open up to the possibilities until later in life. But I believe the timing is always right for each individual.

Welcome to the UFO Casebook forum MisterO.

Please feel free to jump in. A good handful of (I guess I can say for better words) your own kind in here.

Yes, I too have found out that you don't bother some people with the subject of UFOs and aliens. Many appear to feel safe not knowing anything that might modify their beliefs in anyway.

You said "there were a lot of ......". Does that mean you no longer have those books?

last year while discussing ufo's & pyramids, etc with good friend of mine...discovered we both were firm believers.
Myself I saw what I believe was group of ufo's in mountains of yosemite in late 1970's
Found others in our town who saw same things that night.

Anyway, recently friend and me decided to get involved in ufo community.
Have website almost done, and starting producing ufo related merchandise.
Our first item just finished, is ufo auto emblems in contrast to the christian jesus fish.
Will be advertising next few months with casebook website here...
My friend has been involved with seti and offers other opportunity at our site.
We are interested in more than just selling merchandise...seek to broaden our knowledge of whats out there and interact with other enthusiast.
look for us.. mike & mark with -the Alien korporation.
