For the Photo Lovers
« Thread started on: Aug 31st, 2006, 10:04pm » |
|
Well we have just about every type of thread and subject matter covered here at UFO Casebook. And we decided it would be nice to have a relaxing diversion with a personal photo thread. This thread lets you post any nature related type of photo. Photos that are deemed not acceptable would include (Pornography, Violence, Gore and other unmentionables). A good rule of thumb to follow.. If you wouldn't show your photo to a Priest, a 3 year-old child, or your grandmother then we don't want to see it either!
We ask that you try to keep the size of your photograph to a 640x480 resolution size. This allows everyones photos to load up fast on the thread. (800x600 size is the maximum size tolerated, any larger and you may be asked by a private-message by one of the moderators to make the picture smaller or to please remove it). It's just out of respect for our members that have older and slower machines.. Large photos take up a lot of time to load... Thank you.
Any member (this can include family members) can have their photos on display and there are a number of free picture hosting sites that are available to use.. The only pre-requisite is that you need to visit that site (The free picture-hosting site) at least once a month or you will lose your photo albums on that site.. It can be a nuisance at times,, but hey, free is free and it's only once a month to keep your account alive..
Here is a list of free picture hosting sites:
http://www.villagephotos.com/
http://photobucket.com/
http://www.4shared.com/
http://pichole.be/
Registration is quick, easy and painless, except that to keep the account active.. You do need to visit it at least once a month to keep it up and working.
We ask that everyone that participates in posting a picture to give us just a little remark about the photo. Doesn't have to be much, maybe it's a location of where the photo was shot, or how you had to chase the bird down the street to get the right shot, or how soaked by rain you got catching that rainbow shot.. Anything like that will help put a story with the photo and allow us to appreciate it even all that more..
Looking forward to seeing your photos posted. Have Fun and Enjoy the View....
NOTE: If you have problems posting a picture any moderator will be more than happy to help you out

This sunset shot is from awhile back and reminded me that sometimes... God's canvas and paintbrush is better than what any man can create..

That's gorgeous, Johnny...nice to have this back. We've got a ways to go to get it back to 77 pages, so here's my contribution—a sunset at the lake near my house from a couple of nights ago, a few minutes apart.

| aww johnny, its the same thing i always say and feel whenever i see a sunset or a sunrise. i thank the good Lord for the painting he just gave me, as the colors keep changing as they do while the sun goes down, i can imagine God brushing another stroke of paint on the canvas, JUST FOR ME. its a very personal time between God and me during that time.

Those are so awesome as always. Yes, we do have a long way to go to get our beloved photo thread to where it was. I will post my contributions as well:
This one was taken after a rainy day and just as the sun came out before setting. I loved the clouds in these.

After we got some much needed rain, all of my flowers and bushes began blooming again. My white rose bush was planted in memory of my brother because he loved his garden. The whites are especially brilliant now:

2005 after the storm shot. Had some wonderful clouds being illiminated (backlit) by the Sun which created some spectacular scenery. The lense used was a 1970's Spiratone and has a few color abhorations around the edges as many of those old lenses did.

My gosh Johnny, The sun and clouds are amzing in the effects they can create. Keep those photos coming folks. I will go through a few of the ones I had on the other thread, but there were just too many. I will get busy taking more photos to get these pages moving.
