Hi Johnny

Yes, the Dolphins come right up river to feed and frollick.
We have often stood and watched them from the boardwalk.......and its magic to watch. The estuary comes in from the sea and is salt water, and the mouth of the river comes in from the estuary so its salt water for quite a way up river. We also get some pretty big sharks come up the river from time to time.

We have also seen the Dolphins frollicking behind homes on the canals that come off the river......

In summer time people go down to a certain part of the beach and swim with the Dolphins.
When we go fishing or crabbing the Dolphins come right up for a sticky beak at you to see what you are doing.....

If I can ever get fast enough to film them when they are frollicking I will certainly do so and post it for you....

Wow, Luvey, very nice place and pictures. smiley Joren, very nice also!

Here's a short series of an osprey I took yesterday afternoon. It was by far not the weirdest flying thing I photographed ( grin ), but definitely the prettiest IMHO. smiley Just before this it had dove into the water and was totally submersed as it latched onto a large fish...so large, in fact, that it struggled for probably 20 seconds trying to get airborne again. The fish was so large that the osprey had to give up and go away empty "handed". I didn't focus properly and wasn't able to get any good pictures of the event (except for the splash when the bird was totally emerged), sadly enough.

Sorry for so many pictures in a row, but I just couldn't bring myself to omit any of these four...I did make them small in size to keep the page loading time quick hopefully. smiley If they bog anyone down please let me know and I'll be happy to remove some of them...

The Osprey is just beautiful Grounded and there is no need to remove any at all. I don't think I could have omitted any of that beauty either.

I love the pics of the Osprey, Grounded. I have tried to capture an eagle in flight on film with no luck...... You did a great job of capturing the Osprey in flight.

I am still a greenhorn when it comes to taking pics.....still learning, and there are so many different modes on my new camera, that I get confuzzled.....but I will work it out sooner or later....probably more like later than sooner.....lol

I was looking at your pic of the Osprey, Grounded, and thinking how beautiful it was. I had to go out and as I was driving home past the port there is a canal that comes in from the sea, and there was this big Osprey flying up out of the canal and over my car's windscreen....it was stunning... Talk about synchronism!
But alas I was driving and my camera was at home...sulk....

Then I get back and Lawwalk has put on a great pic as well!!

Thanks. smiley

Lawwalk, those are cool pictures! Just make sure you let 'em see you kicking around ever so often...those beaks could probably take out a shutter finger LOL. laugh

Luvey, that's just strange about the osprey. smiley I wish I could carry my camera with me in the car for just such occasions, but I'm always afraid it'll melt or someone break in and get it. Really sad when a gorgeous sunset or some wildlife appear just wanting their picture taken. wink

Hi Grounded

I am always having those strange synchronistic events around me..... This morning I was reading the story of the fish in the duck egg..... So an hour or so later my son walks in with a frozen duck for dinner.

Synchronism!!
