I like the last one the best secondsight! I agree there's some great folks in this forum. Heck I may even get back to writing poetry more often now. Dan

Thank you Adrian for sharing your humanity with us. You have helped us all to have more hope. There are so few people who can allow themselves to open up like that....and yet we all learn from it and become stronger in the sharing.
May your week ahead be filled with sunshine, and the warmth of being loved.

Them:

Had enough.
Futile existence.
Desperate distress.
Love: Resistance.
Hopeless to hope.
Lost in the mayhem.
Nothing is everything.
Us and them.

Nightmare:

What the hell's going on around here?
Do others want me to live in fear?
Feels like they're against me.
Am i against them too?
One man caught in the crossfire.
What do they expect me to do?
Death's not an option.
Life has been.
Pain's my best friend.
Becoming all i've seen.
Mocking voices.
Laughter i hear you now.
Criticising who i am.
Stop this: How?
I'm crying out for help.
Please deliver me from this nightmare.
Set me free.
This isn't fair.

Maybe:

Life's a game with important rules.
The wise know the way to play it.
They're no fools.
The unwise stumble on.
Mistake after mistake.
We're none of us perfect.
Genuine and fake.
I've learnt too late what life's all about.
Too late?
There might be a doubt.
If there's hope for me, then there's hope for us all.
See i did something stupid.
I fell and still fall.
Becoming what i don't wish to be.
Who i was all along?
I don't know.
Maybe.

Find:

Keep on going.
Through the storm.
Through the pain.
It's only human to have doubts.
The truth will still remain.
Never forget your self importance.
How important we all are.
In the blackness of the night you will be a shining star.
A guide for others.
A helper of the blind.
So don't give in.
Your true worth in life you'll find.

Since I have been gooing through this thread for a couple of days now a song I love has kept playing over and over in my mind. It was from sometime in the eighties I think by the group Survivor. Here are the lyrics that I keep hearing today:

A Man Against the World

Have you ever walked alone at night
Like a man against the world
No one takes your side
A boat against the tide
When your faith is shaken you start to break
And you heart cant find the words
Tossed upon the sand
I give you a man against the world
All the people cheer til the end is near
And the hero takes a fall
Then theyll drag you through the mud
Youre only flesh and blood
I have walked the path from dark to light
And theyve yet to come to terms
Alone I take my stand
Im only a man against the world

And love, like a distant reminder
It tugs at my shoulder
It calls me home
I shout, can a single voice carry
Will I find sanctuary within your arms
Someday when the answers clearer
Someday when I even the score
Youll reach and you'll find me near you
Right beside you
Forevermore

But for now I'll walk the night alone
Like a man against the world
A brand new day will shine
Through the avalanche of time
Now the roads grown long, but the spirit's strong
And the fire within still burns
Alone I take my stand
I give you a man against the world

This has long been one of those songs with words that I can easily identify with....although I am not a man, the feeling is the same sometimes.
I think we all identify with it at some point ino ur lives.

Fallen:

Fallen angels trying to destroy.
It's all a part of satan's ploy.
I've already been thru hell.
It wasn't me, it was you who fell.
Don't inflict on others your own mistakes.
In a fallen state.
Bad guys.
Fakes.
The human spirit will prevail.
We're strong.
We'll succeed.
It's you guys who are wrong.
Your influence i don't need.
Satan: The original bad boy.
Your angels lie like you, it's true.
They followed you out of Heaven.
Incorrect move perpetrated by you.

Angel:

An angel on one side.
The devil the other.
Difficult to hear the angel above satan's loud voice.
One whispers.
One does shout.
Have to block the devil out.
Make my choice.
Just choose not to listen.
Let him shout if he wants to.
Ignore what he says and listen to the angel.
That's what i have to do.

Great writing! Have you considered writing lyrics? Are you musically talented as well smiley? Just wondering because I think you'd compose some astounding work. I just hope that you're keeping a Journal of everything. You need to be published - perhaps verse with photography or sketches. Don't hide your light under a barrel!

Secondsight

The other day I sat for ages reading your poetry and I agree with Dan, Mark and Linda......you have real honest to goodness talent.

You go wow the world with that talent. Always remember to believe in yourself and others will believe in you.
