Hi I would like skeptic to give an explanation to the footage I got of a what looked like a moving star to start with until I zoomed into it. This is mind blowing. On YouTube type in UFO glenrothes. I look forward to hearing all your opinions. Thanks

Hi there, I have been seeing very similar things in the sky over the Newcastle area for about 6 months now and after reading all the way through this threat i couldn't resist signing up to post.
I have a few odd stories relating to things appearing in the sky but these things seem different.
Sometimes they are gone from the sky for weeks at a time, i cant find a pattern. I almost 'know' when im going to see them. Some are flashing irregularly, some almost waving (sloping from side to side) and all traveling in different directions at different times at night.
I'm glad im not the only person around noticing these things.

After reading about on a few other forums and learning a few potential causes I decided to downloaded a bunch of apps for my phone that track the ISS, Iridium flares, planes, satellites etc and not one has ever matched.
I lived in Northumberland for many years with beautiful clear skies and never seen these before, yet in the city they are quite clear and obvious

I'd love to hear your feed backhuh

As an amateur astronomer I am familiar with stars appearing to zoom across the sky and then stop dead. It is an optical illusion due to a lack of reference points. Satellites are incredibly common these days and it doesn't take long for one to appear. Tumbling or rotating may be responsible for changing light intensity. Dark skies enable one to see satellites which city dwellers never can due to the street lighting.

Skeptik's got it right. Suitable username for this thread too!!

I posted in this thread a few years back as I too thought I was seeing my first UFO like objects but quickly realised they MUST be satellites. They are everywhere and the flash of light is optical illusion or light from sun/moon bouncing off the metallic / reflective surfaces on them. They are quite mesmerising at first and yes my heart did skip a beat when I first saw 3 or 4 in one night but I think I have admitted defeat on this one. Although, having said that, on that particular night one or two of them were making right angle turns, which is most definitely NOT behaviour of an orbiting or geostationary satellite.

Happy hunting folks - Jimmy

Kev, that is quite impressive footage and believable cos you don't seem like your yurning for attention, just want opinions/answers. Sadly, like most UFO footage, it's frustratingly out of focus. Chances of seeing something in the skies are slim to none, chances of seeing something when you happen to have an HD professional camera are just not gonna happen.

What did the object do in the end? Did it shoot off or disappear or park up in Matalan carpark?

Cheers - Jimmy wink

I'm from Oregon just west of Portland out in the Coast Range on the way to the coast. The other night I went out on the lawn to look up at the stars and after a while a star began to move from the South to the North in a straight line fashion. After passing over some trees on the house patio it stopped. I imediately lit up 5 times brighter than venus and then went back to normal brightness then began to proceed again in a straight line fashion disapearing over the roof of the house. This was the first time I have ever seen something of this nature. If its government then why are we not being told. If its extraterrestial then we are being visited. Prior to seeing this object I had a dream about 5 months before in which I saw a fleet of ufos flying over the house. No sound and no stobe lights were present. Most airplanes fly north to south or west to east. Something is going on. After this experience I was left with almost a sublime devine sensation. One that leaves you thinking to yourself that we are definately not alone and there is a bigger power at work in the universe. This was not a satelite or astroid. I have seen these too and they move diferently.

hi i live southern tip of northumberland and for last month or 2 on clear nights im seeing alot of star like objects moving cross the sky. I first saw 1 of these a year ago which eluminated up very bright before fading an vanishing. just laltley Im seeing these things on every clear night I look, if i sit for an hour il see about 6 or 7 in that period. Ive seen these move north south and east west an north westerly in fact they seem to move many directions. Some dont blink they just look like a star that moves others light up an then dim an vanish ,ive seen them blink like a lighthouse an ive seem them eluminate up to 5 or 6 times the brightness an fade vanish, i also seen 3 travel in triangle formation last month . As i say most appear on horizon an vanish on other horizon but ive also seen these just appear random inthe sky blink a few times an fade.
Also last month having sat about 30 mins you get idea of star formations when 2 stars just vanished in front my eyes which had been their all time i had been sitting. Going back about 6 weeks ago i saw 2 of these star objects move down in the sky vertical, basically what im sayin on a clear night here in northumberland I will sit 30 mins an see about 10 these objects at random times ,some flash an fade away some appear start to pulse a white light then fade ,some most will fly over from horizon to horizon .

What hell are these thes things skys full of them on clear nights. ?
Anyone else observing these in the uk ?

please dont come back an say satellites because they dont pulse lights an fade, eluminate up 6 times ther size vanish or appear randomly in sky blink an vanish, nor move vertically in sky or stay stationary winning an oscar for best actor as role of a star before just fading
also most satelites move west to east in orbit or is that east to west , yes i understand spy satellites canmoveany direction but ive nver seen wave of so many moving stars before an some that appear 5 seconds blink an vanish an the give away for me was the stationary ones that just vanished after 30 mins observating night sky oh an the ones that moved vertically down in sky ,,weird i tell ya somthings going on
anyone 1 ?

I see these regularly, in fact I actively search and image them... I live in the north west uk between Manchester and Preston and I've been an astronomer and avid astrophotographer for many years.... What you are seeing are iridium satellite flares, as the satellite shifts position it will catch the sun causing the bright flare and then dim again, if you own a smart phone, I use an iphone, download the gosat watch app and this will show you where to look to see them......
Also, there are geosynchronus satellites up there which are quite puzzling the first time you observe them. You will see a couple of them at once hardly moving flare up then disappear, sometimes they appear to tumble, which is exactly what they are doing catching the sun as they do. Some of these are in use, some are no longer in service and some are just junk, used boosters etc.(the boosters are the classic tumblers due to there long shape).
I have seen these on many occasions so I know where you are coming from.
If you need convincing further then google videos of geosynchronus satellites and then videos of iridium flares and you will see.
Hope this helps

OK, I've seen the same thing here also, Star Like Objects that blink or pulse in the sky at night. And Yes!!!! They are moving under some type of intelligent control. They stop mid air, and change direction. Sharp 90 degree turns and and fly diagonally. If these are satellites, then why do they change direction so suddenly or if a airplane, (that is visible) fly's towards them on a similar coarse, they will avoid them completely! And this happening in WEST PALM BEACH FLORIDA!!! Someone let me know if your seeing the same!

Same used to happen to me after a couple of bottles of Chilean red wine.

I must admit it explains a lot of what I see, that none moving blinker puzzled me but you explain well what it could be. It does not explain the ones that suddenly change direction and the 1 that split into two be it one off.

See it like this, you could, maybe be right with 99.9% of what Im seeing but it only takes the 0.1% to be not terrestrial lol.

Also a wake in the sea could be a shark on the move or it could be tide current both look and act same if you get my meaning. We could be dealing with energy forms from other dimensions that realise all they have is our senses to stimulate in order to get our attentions, sight= light, sound waves, generate a smell or telepathic sense, I also think been suttel in there approach would also be wise lol

If only I had a video camera back in 97 when the light ship size of a football stadium traveled above my head Im here to share experience not to be convinced we not alone.

Peace to all smiley
