|I want to share something that happened to me about 22 years or so ago. I've only shared this with a handful of people in my life. I'm looking for answers or insight. |
Back story: Previous to this incident, my children and I lived with my grandparents during my divorce. While there, I along with a family friend would often walk my youngest girl in her stroller at night when she couldn't sleep. This is a rural area with lots of nearby fields and open spaces. On more than one occasion my friend and I would see softball sized orbs of light flash across a field, pass right in front of us and cross the highway next to the road we walked on. During this same period odd things were happening in the house it's self. Odd noises, strange smells (often of roses) cold spots and other things that we considered "ghostly".
I always felt as if perhaps that place was haunted. Until the night that I am writing about in this post.
I'd moved into my own place where I had seen nothing odd and had no unusual experiences. One night during the summer, my uncle called me asking me to pick him up from work as his car wasn't running right and he was worried about trying to drive it home. He worked evenings and wouldn't be off until midnight. I agreed to pick him up and my cousin agreed to come with me as he didn't want me and the kids out on the roads alone at night. My uncle worked about 20 mins away from my home so about 11:30 my cousin and I got the kids into the car and headed off. It was a clear, beautiful night and there was little to no traffic. The kids dozed in their car seats and he and I chatted and listened to music as we begun our trip. Nothing was out of the ordinary until we got to the place on the highway that was directly in front of the house I'd lived in with my grandparents. Just as we got to the point in the road where the house was located, three bright softball sized balls of light one after the other zipped right in front of my car. My cousin and I were in mid conversation and were stunned by the lights that darted across the road. He said, "Did you SEE that?!" and I said that I had. Neither of us had a clue as to what they were. From that point on, I don't remember our conversation. It just seemed to me that the drive continued on without incident. My uncle was to have a friend drive him from the parking of his workplace to the corner gas station to meet us so I didn't have to try to get into a lot of people who were trying to get out and head home. We got to the gas station and I parked and turned off the car. I decided to go inside and pick up a pack of wine coolers for when we got back home.
I walked up to the counter, waiting to pay and then the clerk told me that she couldn't sell the alcohol to me. I told her that I had my ID, she said "No, I can't sell it to you because it's after 2 am and that's the law in this county." I was totally confused! I felt like she was trying to play some weird joke on me or something. I looked up at the clock on the wall behind her and sure enough, it was 2:20 am. I'm sure she thought I was nuts by the strange expression that had to have been on my face. I went back to the car, told my cousin what time it was and neither one of us could believe it. We had at least 2 hours of lost time. I went to the pay phone and called my uncle. He was up waiting to hear from me and was worried what had happened. I told him what happened to us. I don't know if he believed me or not, he seemed to. I went back to the car to go home and the car was dead, and I mean dead. It wouldn't even try to turn over, nothing. I ended up having to call my uncle back and he had to wake his roommate and come jump my car off. He did find it odd that my new car did that. Never had a problem before or after that with it not starting.
We never really talked in-depth about it after that night. We just didn't know what to say to each other.
I have NO idea what happened to us. The kids slept the whole trip, nothing other than those balls of lights happened. Everything seemed "normal" other than that. Something else that is weird though is that both of my younger brothers, who live in Florida, had a very similar experience which I didn't learn until several years later. They had been going to get burgers for my brother's wife and them. Got home and she was REALLY mad at them, grilling them about where they'd been. About two hours had past for them as well, with nothing at all out of the ordinary that they could remember. To this day, she still doesn't believe them. But I do.
A couple of years went by before I ever considered that perhaps aliens were involved. Not until I developed a true fascination with UFOs and aliens, greys in particular for some reason. I started learning of other people also losing time.
The only time in my life prior to that incident that I even thought about UFOs at all was when I was about 18 years old, living at home with my family in Orlando, FL. My father had gotten a telescope and had been looking for stars and such when he noticed odd lights in the night sky. He had us all go out night after night with him to see these things. I saw them, we all did. A large object with multicolored, rotating lights and then much smaller objects, each one being a one of the colors from the larger craft. Green, red, yellow, blue.....they would dash from spot to spot occasionally, all stay within a certain distance of the big craft. VERY odd and very cool. They did this for about three nights in a row, then I never saw them again.
Anyway, that was a lot longer than I intended, sorry! Anyone out there have anything close to this happen to them? Or any knowledge of these balls of light being somehow connected to UFOs?
